  • Yeah same, I live in England so its much harder to get NASCAr models, I dont have any COT cars atm but the cars I do have are quite modern-ish, mostly from like 2003 onwards or so.

  • you have a lot of skills. this is great but that song at the beginning is torture. that was excellent

  • Your right its best to mute it because that song is torture.

  • how do you make the cras speed up when like the pace car is pacing them artound the track and then the start, how do you make it go from slow to fast like tht

  • Move them shorter

  • @XyourXnemesisX move it farther to go faster. oppisite way to go slower, going slow is a pain in the ***

  • best stop motion ever!!!!!!! u make it look like a real broadcast:]

  • hey for copyright just put all the song info (song, band/music group/company that owns it) and then dispute a claim and pick number 2 and say its in the description, thats how i got some of mine back and other guys too

  • I could do that - however when I put this track in, it said that it would wipe out all the original audio (and I am assuming that it would be gone forever).

  • oh, wish i had of seen before...

you could re-upload it but im pretty sure you don't want to lose all the views and comments

  • I might re-upload it on another site with all 3 parts together to make it a little more like a TV broadcast to make it 30 minutes (with commercials and some other stuff that I could use with unused pics/video I shot shortly after I finished this race).

  • ok sounds good, give the site URL when its up plz thx

  • @Browndoor1986 what scale are those cars, usually they are 1 64 but those look like 1 43 or 1 24

  • response from me is [ claps] good job with the track and the bground

  • oh that sucks

  • Awesome.Best stop motion i ever seen.

  • amazing! now i wanna make one

  • harder than it looks. lol

  • im going to do one of these videos soon. my track is made out of wood, it is about 4.5 ft x 2 ft. for the walls i used popsicle sticks and i glued them on. the paint looks nice and i hope to get my video up in a week or so.

  • dude this video is awesome!!!!!!! 5 stars

  • where did you get your cars

  • From my local NASCAR dealer, Brickel's Racing Collectables.

  • what kind of camera did u use

  • Sony Cybershot 7.2 megapixel w-70 camera

  • i cant believe you can make the walls on the track so perfect like that! i tried doing it but the tape looked so sloppy. Where did you get the crouds around the racetrack?

  • When I did the walls I used posterboard - it's thick enough for the application to keep it stable while taping it down. Before you tape down the wall you just want to make sure the wall is straight vertically and the bottom touching the surface you're going to be taping it too. Get a piece of tape and tape down a section. As you keep taping the wall down make sure the wall is still vertical as well as flat & straight (going with the straightaway, turn).

  • I use posterboard too but someone stepped on it and it got wrinkled :S lol it sucked

  • Hey man,I'm making a stop motion race to,is Windows Movie Maker the best way 2 go?

  • As far as I am aware of, plenty of people use Windows Movie Maker to make stop motions, so it's a really good way to go. WMM is pretty simple to use. The one thing I would suggest is using a frame rate of .125 seconds (8 frames per second).

  • big purse

  • News about the Hess Challenge:

Unfortunately, I have to cancel the race after my camera broke last night while reshooting part of the race. I don't have the $ to fix it/buy a new one.

I know that there were many eager to watch it, and I'm disappointed that you won't be able to watch it, and for that I'm sorry.

However, I am willing to help anyone on video editing, supplying logos for walls/grass, supplying pre-made track layouts, and a video from last month I made on how I made the track.

  • oh wow earnhardt is battling, their side by side, aaaand kurt busch is back out he's 3 laps down. LOL

  • i liked your video part one but i can't wait to see part two

  • I wish the real COT produced great racing like that. Anyway awesome vid! Looks like it took a ton of time to make.

  • i think you mean the 3 time champion winner jimmy johnson lol.

that is very nicely done you can see the videos on my user but thier not as good as yours. How do you record your voice like that?

  • If you have Windows XP or Vista, there's a program called Sound Recorder (go to start, accessories, entertainment to reach it). If you got that and a microphone that you can plug into the tower, you're set.

  • stop saying sevral!!!!!!!!!!

  • O yah best stop motion i have seen

  • Good job i love the tack! Hope to se you make more

  • also how did u make the track and the walls?

  • dude how do u edit the running order at the top?

  • dude how do you make this

  • stop motion, u take lots of pictures and then using a movie editing system u make them into a video

  • Nice!

  • cool i cant wait

  • have u already started making part 3?

  • I started late last week.

  • how far about do you move the cars between every pic?

  • On the straightaways, 1 inch. In the corners 1/2".

  • Thnx 'cause it looks really good how you do it. Your vids are the best no comparison.

  • during the intro whats the song

  • During all the vintage clips the first minute or so - Deep Purple Knocking At Your Back Door

The next song after that is Eminence Front by The Who

The song for the starting lineup - The intro music for wrestler Ultimate Warrior from the WWE when he wrestled about 15-20 years ago.

  • Wow this is amazing mine r suckish but i have better ones on the way

  • Dude! You have 1000 views in 15 days! I got a 1000 views in 3 months! >:( I am so jealous!

btw, how did you put 2 pictures onto 1 screen (In the starting lineups?)

  • When using Paint, go to the attributes and change it to 11 by 8.5. Save that as a file. Afterwards, choose whatever picture you want to use, and basically scale it down so it fits in that 8.5 by 11 area. You're gonna probably have to experiment several times on how big the pic can be, or so everything (including text) looks in scale to the pics (the starting lineup text is 36 point Eurostile bold and italic).

  • Did you use movie maker?

  • Yes, and also Adobe Premiere 7.0. When I uploaded the pics on Movie Maker, I had the pics at .125 seconds. I saved the file as a movie, and then would import it to Adobe. There I could adjust the length of the file, thus speeding it up. The race footage is 13 FPS, caution laps 8 FPS.

  • Where can u download adobe premiere 7.0? And wht are u talking about "paint?" and "attributes?" and "11 to 8.5" I am confused.

  • When using MS Paint, go to image then attributes. Switch it to inches and put 11 for the width and 8.5 for the height (11 by 8.5 is the size for a sheet of paper). I make it that size so when I do anything I don't have to scroll over.

As for Adobe, your best best is to just go to google, type in abode premiere 7.0 and go through the results. Some are a free trial for just a few days, some you can buy but it costs a lot.

  • Very impressive, especially with the detail of the track with graphics, as well as the starting grid. Wish they did the grid like this now.

  • I agree with you about the starting grids. It seems that in the last 3 years or so it's become an afterthought by just shoving it up in the scoring ticker.

When I think starting grids, and you might agree with this, I think Delta Force (Indy 500 w/ Paul Page) and the Daytona 500 starting lineups from the early 80's up through 2000 (with Ken Squier).

  • Yes, that is what I think of.

I don't know if you've seen it or not, but I made a Delta Force Intro and Starting Grid for this years Indy 500... As well as a grid for the finale for Indycar at chicago. I'm probably also going to do one for the round at surfers paradise.

  • That track is JUST AMAZING! Please tell me how you made it. Are those 1/64?

  • I used white posterboard to draw out the initial track. I then used tracing paper to draw out certain sections of the track and placed the sections on black posterboard (green for grass, taped down the tracing paper and cut the sections. Once cut out I used rubber cement to hold down the sections. The walls are white posterboard as well held by scotch tape, and the logos are a case of saving a picture, plopping it into paint, scaling it and printing out.

And yes, it's 1/64th scale cars.

  • whens part 3?

  • im making a stop motion vid from nascar 2 yours was a good insperation... do u mind if u can tell me how to get the upper scroll of standings? nice vid best ive seen so far.

  • can you tell me how you exactly made the track

  • I used white posterboard to draw out the initial track. I then used tracing paper to draw out certain sections of the track and placed the sections on black posterboard (green for grass, taped down the tracing paper and cut the sections. Once cut out I used rubber cement to hold down the sections. • i agree this is brilliant and i cant wait to see the rest

  • this is brilliant

  • whens part two?

  • Part 2 I'm hoping to complete in about 2-3 weeks. It will be from the restart on lap 105 to roughly lap 250.

  • are these toy cars?

  • 1/64 scale cars, so yes.

  • damn did u do the stop motion?

  • Yes, and I also must say when moving the cars from 1/2" to 1" depending on what part of the track they are at plus the fact that the track is situated on 3 sheets of posterboard (which is I believe 28" long by 22" wide), it's a long process. To do one lap can range anywhere from 1 hour (if I focus on 2 or 3 cars) to 2 hours (if I show the whole field in some shots pass by the camera).

  • damn son.......but it turned out great

  • How did you get the race ticker?

  • The scoring on top - I used Paint. The numbers of the cars I took from the original pictures I took of the car for the starting lineup and just scaled it down to fit the bar. The length and height of the scoring bar is about 13.6 by 1.2 inches.

Once saved, I placed it into Adobe Premire Pro 7.0 and scaled it to fit the screen. I believe there are places online that you could possibly get a demo, it might be though the new CS3 and not 7.0. Buying the new CS3 will run you at least $400.00.

  • That is so amazing, Browndoor; I can hardly put into words how impressed I am! The track looks so realistic and you did a great job scaling it to the size of the cars! The intro, the race action, and of course, the starting lineup are all just amazing! Good job! :)

  • I think Kyle Busch should wreck

  • Holy crap! I think you did better then what I did! DANG! *Bows to brown*

  • that was very realistic

  • cool. the intro is almost like the one i made for my race at martsinville

  • how did u make the scoring on top, and the track?

  • The scoring on top - I used Paint. The numbers of the cars I took from the original pictures I took of the car for the starting lineup and just scaled it down to fit the bar. The length and height of the scoring bar is about 13.6 by 1.2 inches.

  • I NEED TO GIVE YOU PROPS FOR THIS

  • As for the track, I used white posterboard to draw out the initial track. I then used tracing paper to draw out certain sections of the track and placed the sections on black posterboard (green for grass, taped down the tracing paper and cut the sections. • thx so much, you did a really good job, but how is the crowd bein supported?

  • Pipe cleaners

  • this video is so cool

    it looks real!

  • good job with the video, everything is so cool, I can't wait for part two, I hope Gordon wins
