  • shit, just cracked my screen :(

Wish i hadn't touched it now, remembering the saying... "if it aint broken, DON'T FIX IT!"

  • thanks for the help on opening it up.. headphone plug was loose and needed tightening.. now works again lol

  • That iPod has been opened already!!!

A new iPod is really alot harder to open!!!

  • hahhah. Thanks music4uheads, I was just about to open up my iPod classic xD

a little damaged but works somehow :)

  • Don't try this with iPod classic (the new one with the metal faceplate). Really difficult to open. It is designed to NEVER be opened. They must have a special machine at Apple or they might just be cheaper to replace then repair.

  • why do people sapm authors?

  • the same thing happened to me where the rubber things can out and was panicking about where they went lol

if only i just watched the whole video first XP

  • nice, got my battery replaced in ten minutes. thanks for the help!

  • oh, i thought u made this video, if ur iPod sucs and doesnt work. you can play around with it .... i guess not

  • Thanks for the video, dude! I have two ipods that aren't working for different reasons so I'm trying to cannibalize one for parts...this helped immensely!

  • i thought it is called a ipod classic?

  • Thx Dude =]

  • Incubus nice

  • INCUBUS

  • is that modded or painted?

  • i think its the u2 edition

  • oh,never saw that b4

  • you must use really thin picks.

  • how do i fix hard drive?

  • Hey man, many thanks! This is a very clear instruction video. As you say, not for the uncareful, but it's indeed the common sense of the viewer that applies here.

I do have a question though. I understand that you can't reply to everyone but maybe you'll read this. Can I access the audio output (or-whatever-it's-called) easily? Mine's broken, it only gives sound of one earplug, and I don't want to send it to some iPod repair service. So I figured I'd might try to fix it myself, as a last resort.

  • Anyone ever try putting a battery from one of the newer Ipod 120 GB classic model to this one in the video (5th Generation) 30 GB Ipod? I find the 120 GB battery lasts WAY longer than my 30 GB. Anyone here try ?

  • Interesting to see the guts of a iPod I would be so scared if mine broke open it has all my books on it as I have low vision iPod is way to have my life my books in my pocket :)

  • are ipod hard to break because they run on hard drive.

cos i'm planning to get the ipod classic and i wanna no if it will last long-cause i drop a lot of stuff

  • well I've dropped the ipod I have in the video a bunch of times and it hasn't broken yet, hope that answers your question.

  • dude,

you should have the common sense

and the responsability to make detailed how to videos since this things cost people money and you dont know who would be watching

watch other vids here and learn how is done.

  • sry but I make videos assuming the viewer, unlike you, has some brains to be taking apart their $200-300 ipod and knows they should be careful, my video's are not made for the dull minded people like you who call me douche bag for trying help others who know that taking apart their ipod has a risk of breaking it if you are not careful. And if you were smart you would have payed close attention to the inside and seen the cables all over. But dull people like you should break it if their that dumb

  • "maybe not" what a deuge bag you are

btw, you should mention to be careful not to pull it open to hard because there things attached to the front and back parts

    of the ipod.

  • *douche*

  • sry that you don't have the common sense to be gentile and slow when opening delicate electronics. Maybe i would help tell you how to put it back together but being the *douche* I am I guess I won't.
