  • Such a shame how organized religion hijacked spirituality and turned the meaning on it's head....

  • Psilocybin and Ritalin?

    Nice combo Prof. !

Hallucinogens match up very well with amphetamines... ;) My most powerful trip was a similar combination.

  • I have had an LSD experience which brought me to these same conclusions. I am attempting to go to graduate school in cognitive neuroscience.

  • if i had to pick one video that every person on earth would have to watch. it would be this one.

  • @zimig325

I find you to be absolutely brilliant and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

  • I just did a research study on the effects of MDMA administration and cognitive tasks, and got to talk to him and his colleagues for over two hours while on MDMA. Brilliant man, very interesting to talk with.

  • @CatalyticDragon Yeah, like that Jesus stuff about healing and finding that the kingdom is within. Gee, it's no wonder the Romans killed the guy. They couldn't let people find their own value beyond the fear of death, there's no control in that...right? This hippie bs was brought to the US public by an English banker named R Gordon Wasson via Life magazine May 13 1957. Yeah...homework sux, but read up, your may pass through hip too. "Success is the acomplishment of the nessessary" Manly P Hall.

  • @CatalyticDragon I'm going to eat your dog.

  • "took up a meditation practice that really altered a core sense of self for me" .. a.k.a. he tripped and had an awesome time! lol :)

  • Wow, he's talking about this stuff and the audience isn't bursting out laughing. I feel like these types of drugs have been so demonized over the years that if you try to have a discussion about it with people their first instinct is just to start laughing about it and talking to you like you're kidding.

  • this is just a reminder to

  • Neuronal standing ovation! My hair stood on end for the whole 20 minutes.

Do you understand now the potential but also the fascination of this experience?

  • I volunteered in this experiment. I have increased positive attitude, feel connected to all with deep love and respect. My life changed with the diagnosis of leukemia. Now I am able to live in the present, with reduced anxiety and improved sleep patterns. My relationships are better with increased empathy and deeper respect. The wall created in response to cancer melted away and now I can express emotions without fear. This was critical in the healing process.

  • So...(as educated people begin a statement)...now that the labor is carried out elsewhere, why don't we get back to the real work of the world? Let's figure out how to balance the issues and reduce the madness created by our imposed separation from true consciousness. "Jems of epiphany rained down washing away all doubt of a greater awareness"

  • Good work.

  • Does anyone else feel that the use of psilocybin mushrooms spiritually is a civil rights issue? Why are we being denied of our humanness? Our fascination as a self reflective species to alter our state of consciousness. To escape from the boring realm of reality to experience another plane of existence.

  • @MrThastik i agree 100%. its unconstitutional. as is treating me like a criminal for using a plant god created for my good.

  • @MrThastik I completely agree. And since we're both at least semi intelligent hominids, we quite quickly figure out how to produce this experience on or own. The backwards ideology run societies need not necessarily know ;-)

  • @olmen375 The beauty of the American legal system is that it caters to the intelligent.

  • (10:00-10:20) I agree the experience of psilocybin is one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.

  • 17 mins - Why is the human organism wired to have these experiences?

That is the line to look into.

  • DaSamoan, you have it straight.

    The Mushroom warrants study..

  • im so glad science is starting to prove the claims of people that have been made for thousands of years. Rowland Griffiths is paving the way for future generations and i hope i get to meet him one day!!

  • in other words: everybody MUST get stoned!!!

  • WOW, Roland, meditation, shrooms, you have changed. It was good to see you on this video, as I have not seen you in a very long time. You look good!

You were a great boss, and you're a wonderful speaker.

  • I suggest everybody sees this video. I had a grand experience at Schwagstock where hindu deities appeared on the melting cliff walls. I was the universe, and the universe was me. The truth was everyone is everyone else's someone else.

  • The integration of this gift of higher learning is an exponentially daunting task in the everyday life of a working man, with simple examinations alone one can peel off epiphanies hourly on a good day. This being years after one has used this medicine. I'm a believer...on a good day...and they usually are when my motivation meets my intention. How many broken hearts will be vindicated by this information. Thank You Dr Griffiths. Let the healing be eternal. Foregiveness is knowing it will happen.

  • According to his definition I also had a mystical experience after ingesting a low to medium dose of Psilocybe cubensis. The experience was one of the most significant of my life and was in my opinion extremely positive. When trying to explain it to someone the analogy i most often come back to is that of going to a life changing lecture. If the knowledge presented to you and the understanding you had of it was truly life changing and positive, of course you don't forget it after 14 months.

  • keep it up the awesome work GRIFFITHS!!!

  • Wow! Could we try this out on people with early on set alzheimers? Give them a chance to make new memories and have some exciting experiences?

  • @debdonofrio Only on Alzheimer's patients who meet the main criteria of being open to using entheogens and are informed of the side effects.

To given an example of why I say this:

When the pure form of THC, Dronabinol or Marinol, was given to people suffering from either anorexia or refractory nausea and vomiting without informing them of the side effects, most of them found the hallucinogenic effects to be frightening and confusing.

  • Great Video, Psilocybin has certainly changed my life in a most positive way....
