  • Frankly I prefer Robert glasper's version more it has a nice feel

  • @280az Both are good interpretations...in fact, I prefer both versions to the original

  • I just love this.

  • LOL I listened to this song when the bad plus came in my town, they're very good!

  • The homage is something to be commended, but the execution is leaving me with a lack of proper oration. At least, in the beginning. Now that I'm hearing more of the song, this is actually a wonderful jazz improv piece. Beautifully constructed with the same spirit (no pun intended), though different genre, as the original. The dissidence and cacophony rings true today more than ever.

  • An amazing marriage of music!! bravo!

  • Download the audio from this clip at searchripgrab doht cohm.

  • Wild thing... You move me....

  • Great!

  • oooo sexy

  • chillywilly

  • Honestly, I´ve heard way much better covers in jazz music.

They just play the chords and notes as the original song and put some improvisation. Why don´t you try Charlie Hunter´s Come as you are version with the SLTS intro? That´s a jazz cover !!!! Also John Scoffield version of "Satisfaction"

  • @elguapoluigi if you don't include the same melody, it's not the same song

  • @aJazzcat someone named Jazzcat should know that the melody is just a result of the changes. chords are more significant than the melody.

  • @patio86 i don't know a thing about jazz. i'm just a fan of carl thompson :)

  • @patio86 What came first, the melody or the chords? Sort of like the "chicken and egg" quandary.

  • @elguapoluigi like he says in that movie 'the player', now if only we could get rid of those actors and directors we'd be on to something

  • @elguapoluigi

I Agree.. i like jazz too and theres nothing much in this song...

  • @elguapoluigi

Who cares if it's not the greatest jazz cover ever, let it be good just coz it's good.

  • awesomeness

  • very artistic drummer

  • you should also listen to the lars danielsson&leszek modzer version.

  • only: Waouwwww!

  • Bad plus so good

  • this is quite literally the greatest musical composition i've ever heard in my entire life. This or Spanish Castle Magic at least.

  • dude... David King is a genius! Very melodic in his counterpoint lines and it grooves!

  • OMG. THIS IS SOMETHING LOL

  • Yes. Just...yes.

  • they are so wicked. their blue moon and that abba song - freakonomics on the kb

  • The pianist's ability to do those compound meters is pretty incredible. I love the part at 3:36 where he reaches inside and strums the piano strings..

  • no, just very talented.

  • @elcueropeneano Dave King is one of the greatest drummers alive. Get real.

  • @elcueropeneano its called jazz drumming

  • @elcueropeneano maybe, if alcohol makes you awesomely talented. This style of drumming is very tricky to do, I'd like to see you get your puny head around it.

  • @elcueropeneano He's intentionally hanging behind the beat pretty heavy on the verses. It locks in at the chorus. It's really fantastic drumming. Very deep pocket.

  • awesome music! heard it on NPR and love it!
