As its only a film I wont worry too much, but, the explosions behind him and I'm really not too sure at all why he goes sidewards. Its been mentioned that the wind could be factor, mmm... I think an explosion of that size would counter act the wind, or affect him but not that much. I really could be wrong. Anyway its a film so take it for what it is and just enjoy it.

People have to understand, its called "Mission: Impossible", if it wasn't, he would've flew forward. It would've been a boring explosion. But he flew sideways, in a cool way. It's Impossible....Mission: Impossible.

the impact of the force from that explosion onto his body sent him flying sideways into the vehicle, you would have to consider which way the wind is traveling also

i've been asking myself that same question. it's a terrible movie mistake. the explosion generations a lot of wind force and this force is what would propel him in any direction, but since there are no other objects between him and the path of the force, he should fly straight towards the camera but he goes sideways!! this was probably one of the takes on that scene and they decided to use it for whatever reason.

I think the car was actually more at an angle to him and it just looked like he went sideways. Plus he sort of jumped to avoid the other missile. Who knows? I wouldn't dwell on it; takes years off your life.

The name reflects the hero's journey to success against a supposed villain or trial. Implying anything that supports victory would take away from the suspense of an otherwise unknown ending. What if Ethan Hunt died at the end of 3?

Yeah, the fourth film is set to release in 2010. I think Brad Pitt is going to be the star, not sure if Tom Cruise will return being that Paramount let him go.

lol i hate mission impossible 3 and all mission impossible movies but i only watched this trailer 2 see if this mistake was actually true.........pause the trailer at 1:25 and you will notice that he is bein forced into the car the only thing that could have forced him in that scene was the explotion but if you look the explotion was behind him y would he go 2 the left if the explosion was behind him it looks like he jumped into the car so the movie would look more action packed which didn't sux

Incorrect. If that missile went straight down and hit then he would go forward, but it came from the side. Because of that the shockwave was going in the opposite direction that the missile was going, therefore throwing him into the car.
