  • 5:28 kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • where can I get that hat?

  • i like that persian carpet!!!

  • The bass player, Bryan Beller, kick arse. Check out the Aristocrats.

  • I always start my guitar playing after listening Steve's songs :)

  • 3 guys are not listening

  • I think this is Steve's version of Van Halen's 'hot for teacher'

  • no billy sheehan?

  • 4:48 guitar says "wwwhhhoooooooaaaaaaaa!!!!" hahaha love it!

  • I woulda cried my eyeballs out if he came that close to me. 3:34

  • Look out Paul!!! Bap! Sorry buddy...

  • The more I watch Steve, the closer I come to believing that he is the best rock guitarist of all time. He's one of those mega-meticulous players who effortlessly seem to work a million different little nuances into his playing. His playing is so fluid and his technique is flawless. He's always articulate and musical. He's probably the most well-rounded guitarist I've ever seen.

  • very talented but his music is a little abstract for me

  • fuck rolling stones for not putting steve vai on top 100 guitar players wtf?......

  • @yoshibreeder Funny.I thought that too.

  • @yoshibreeder I'm not in Vai's music. I don't like him really. But you're true. His technique deserves for being in top 100 of rolling stone. It's not about technique only but also expression. Point for you ;)

  • @yoshibreeder i agree, that magazine sucks....really sucks ;)

  • Did they hand out triple loaded valium before the show??? Whats with the audience?? If I was a performer, did a song like that, and got that feedback from my supposed fans, I'd wade into them and start ripping heads off.

  • I have tinitus from playing this song at 10,000 decibels on the stupidly loud sound system i sent myself broke through installing in my car. And I regret none of it. Flying down a good bit of road with this on at maximum volume at 0430 when no-one else is around......

  • vai always have orgasms with this song...

  • 2:45 guitar, you are officially my bitch.

  • THis is prob my least fav Vai tune. It's SUCH a ripoff of Hot for Teacher. Same shuffle beat, same key, same breakdown with the clean double-stops and he even places it in a classroom setting. just wow. It's as if he said I'll out Eddie by redoing Hot for Teacher and showing people just how much better I am.

  • @TruthSurge so what if it sounds a bit like hot for teacher? also vai kicks EVHs ass in every respect of guitar playing

  • @Lolguy88 The pt isn't whether Stevie Vai is better than EVH. The pt was merely that he copied hot for teacher when he could have just written a song w/o copying someone else's stuff. He's too good of a musician to have to do that.

  • @TruthSurge I dont know if you are bashing vai, but if you listen to the two tracks side by side they are not very similar, and all of vais playing is his own, I do admit they are slightly similar though, i just dont believe vai ripped off EVH.

  • @Lolguy88 Thankfully, my life doesn't depend at all on convincing others of what I know to be true. :)

  • @TruthSurge Cool, neither does mine :)

  • eat whit guitar plate, use guitar spoon..his wife is guitar

  • joder, ese concierto tuvo lugar en la ciudad más aburrida del planeta. El púbico está apático, ni se mueven...

  • steve's 2nd guitarist looks like charlie haas(ex-wwe)

  • the king of guitars

  • That audience must of had their heads up their ass. I'd be half way up on stage going fucking crazy!!!

  • I wish Dave's guitar was a little louder. otherwise no complaints ;P

  • @zachoon isn't that Tony McAlpine?

  • @darkjoker123321 Naw tony McAlpine was guitaring/keyboarding with steve in the tour in 2005. Plus, Dave is White, and tony's black. haha

  • @zachoon wait, what?

  • @darkjoker123321 Tony McAlpine was only in the Live at Astoria concert recording. Dave Weiner, the rhythm guitarist has been in steve vai's band for a while now htough

  • I have the same rug...

  • Billy sheehan left and john petrucci came in his place.. haha

  • @dodomaximo that's not John Petrucci, it's Brian Beller

  • @dodomaximo and they were taking turns on this tour

  • @darkjoker123321 I know, is just a joke

  • hahaha "look out paul" *bap* hahaha anyone else see that?

  • The audience is dead

  • Wow, the crowd is worst than japanese people...Is it a crowd of deaf people?

  • I've asked the side guitarist of name Dave directly.

He said that he uses his own signature model.

    Hope this comment help yours.

  • Does anyone know the Ibanez Model of guitar the rhythm guitarist is using?

  • @greenman381 : Some guy replied to your comment on the rhythm guitarists guitar, he says that it's his own signature model. I just thought I'd tell ya since he didn't attach it to your comment.

  • SHIT THOSE PEOPLE HAVE STEVE VAI IN FRONT OF THEM AND DON'T JUMP DON'T SCREAM!!!! COLD PEOPLE

  • Lol at the "Look at paul" "BAP" near the end

  • He Dance Very Good

    Hahahaha

  • what a boring crowd :/ id be screaming like that guitar! :D

  • @insaneguitar96 thats why the "audience is listening"XD

  • @insaneguitar96 Yea but i dont want to hear you I want to hear the guitar!

  • @insaneguitar96 The audience is obviously not listening...

  • I have all G3 DVD-videos THE GREATEST FAN FROM POLAND (I am) pozdrawiam fanów Vaia i satrianiego :)

  • Maybe if I got a magic carpet like what he's standing on I can be a guitar god too.

  • he is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast.i love this man and his music thank god you exist

  • 3 people are just jelouse cause the audience never listens to them :3

  • I prefer G3 version

  • sounds kinda like the drum line to Hot for Teacher..this blows that song away tho!

  • Steve Vai does Eddie Van Halen?

  • GENIAL PUF STEVE VAI EL MEJOR GUITARRISTA!

  • the crowd look fun....

  • Vai's fingers were made to play guitar...Zappa had to know what he found when he recruited Stevie...

  • @ozzyFTW1369 wtf does it have to do with finger? its your brain nothing to do with your fingers dude.

  • this is like a million songs in one

  • jeng sukoi

  • 5:20 LOL

  • el riff de entrada se asemeja a un BURRO!

    jaja

  • 2 people didn't listen.

  • 5:20 look out Paul bam XD

  • Steve Vai is god of guitar but Billy Sheehan is much better than this bassist.

  • @Hertsman50 brain beller would actually wipe the floor with sheehan actually, you should see brain with mike keneally, its the most amazing music you'll ever see!

  • I badly want vai's hat!!

  • this is exellent but the version with the breed was the best ,sheehans bass gave it more power

  • this track is one of my favorite VAItune, next to tender surrender....VAI really does know how to put yo on your feet and make your hand clap and make your head rhythmically nod in approval and make your eyes filled with wonder...

  • 5:39 proof that Vai has balls of steel :D

  • @MrCold768 and now we know what the monkey grip is for :P

  • 5:22

    ouch.

  • Steve´s guitar it´s like a natural living defense..,it was like a ¨¿WTF? take that intruder!

  • Great Bass Player!!!

  • Comment removed

  • this clip is cool

  • Steve Vai shouldn't have let go of the Breed.. I cannot seem to enjoy listening to this song without Tony MacAlpine and Billy Sheehan.

  • i love his hat <3 :D

  • "Now Stevie... Now don't be nervous honey... Okay? I'm gonna' go in and I'm gonna' introduce you... and then you're gonna' come in... with your guitar... and then you're going to play that nice, nice music you were telling me about..."

  • D.Weiner love this whammy armonic 4:49

  • what a bohemian hat...

  • Hmm... I wonder if the audience was listening. xD

  • i fucking love these facial expressions

  • @aassyr1111 Look at 0:43.. he's fucking crazy

  • When Steve made eye contact with me at the concert, I gave him an 'honorable bow' with my hands together as-if in prayer, he noticed and proceeded to give me show of my life. Steve is a great human-being

  • whats the effect that comes on at about 1:13 to 1:20?? chorus with a slight phase? also @2:13 to 2:20 and other places before the chorus....

  • @Chumbaweed Sounds like chorus..with a reverb change

  • @gasfervis yep... taht and more... watch the: steve vai private gear tour" video here on tube...

  • i don't like the way this version is mixed.... it sounds so funky.... Steve's Tone is so odd too....

  • Music doesn't need words.... so none need be said.

  • I miss the keyboards so bad :(

  • that was awesome!

  • does his underwear have "vai" on it too? socks too? and boot soles?

  • Seriously, LOOK OUT PAUL!!!

  • can someone please tell me how he gets that tone at 3:32 its just truly amazing.

  • really great

  • I Like 2:36 - 3:16.

    Very Coooooll!!!

  • After watching Steve Vai videos about 4000 times, I suddenly realized there were other people on stage....how can't you keep your eyes off of this guy playingggggg???

  • For some reason...steve's aparel and moves remind me of Stevie Ray Vaughan...mmm, strange

  • Gotta say, as a drummer I have some MAD respect for Jeremy Colson!!! Just discovered him, didn't have the remotest clue he was the drummer for Steve Vai! Anyone have any info on Jeremy? No Wiki page, I think one deserves to be made! And btw, wish I could have been at this show, must have been epic!

  • WHAT A FACIAL EXPRESSIONS .... SO TRUE

  • I'm still wondering what happened to evo's True Temperament neck?? I don't see it any more

  • @jrockerdraughn he has his guitars refitted to do really anything he wants out of them.

  • @ShadowLancer128 Yeah but he JUST put fitted them with a True Temperament fret system, you'd think they'd be there in these vids

  • @jrockerdraughn well yeah you're right. You'd think either he or the tech would be lazy and say "PLAY WITH THEM." But then Vai has 1001 guitar necks ready to be fitted to any capable guitar body he has. Just a benefit of being Steve Vai.

  • @ShadowLancer128 Oh how I wish I had his skill...

Or at least the free guitars

  • @jrockerdraughn In the words of Paul Gilbert: "When you're young you might dream of the giving, but as you get older and achieve more, you begin to realize that it's like a body part. Without it, you will fail."

  • @ShadowLancer128 i dont get it explain yourself please

  • @hiladelphia hmm which of my comments don't you "get" or understand?

I seem to have been a bit of a troll by commenting on a page too much at all :D

  • @ShadowLancer128 But back to my point... It just seems like, since the True Temperament sounds so much better, why go back to the traditional neck? He doesn't have to worry about it being hard to tune them, he's got people to do that. All respect to Steve, but that just doesn't make sense to me personally..

  • @jrockerdraughn You're correct. Logically it makes no sense. There is no logical reason to switch back. There is an emotional reason. That reason is to use whatever exact equipment which was used in the creation of the piece, thinking that no other equipment might achieve that exact same sound.

  • @ShadowLancer128 Guys, I mean, it could just be that the hype overpowered the reality. There are more things to take into account that just the tuning aspect. I mean, the bass isn't true tempered, and perhaps he's still working on it. ti can't be easy for a regular person to switch, but for Vai, he'd have to be real comfortable to pull off his live show on a completely new system comfortably. we're talking 35 years of learning a craft one way then having to change. may see it in the future tho:)

  • @Quikfingers yeah.

  • I never really liked this song until I saw this performance of it.

  • For this song (and the other "rock!" type songs) i would rather billy sheehan, but Brian is such a great bassist - his musical ear and little bass flourishes everywhere are amazing - just check out angel food! :D

  • Shit those fingers are lightning fast!

  • THIS IS IT !!! steve vai is (foda pra caraio mano!!)

  • Besides being an excellente guitarrist his performance is incredible!

  • nothing without tony macalpine and billy sheehan

  • this inspires me so much, amazing!

  • I like virsion with Billy Sheeman from G3 2005 much more.

  • Billy SheeHan

  • @vanzahan2 oooh sorry, now I see

  • @RapedSnowwhite That G3 version melted my face off, its so awesome XD

  • @RapedSnowwhite

the name is Billy Sheehan ;P

and yes, I love the G3 version too, it has an awesome bass-solo in it :D

  • @RapedSnowwhite

This bass player sisnt eve playing at the beginning thats probbaly why it sounded like shit

  • @RapedSnowwhite That wast the best ever, my friend

  • @RapedSnowwhite it's SHEEHAN

  • yep... i like more the g3tokio version, the tonykeyboards and the bass solos of billy...

  • I really miss the keyboards like the tokio g3.

    Check it out

  • and heres where the zappa influence shines through. Vai is just as outrageous as Zappa, I think.

  • Man he just killed the wah pedal on this one!! Amazing!!

  • i miss billy sheehan :(

  • So do I... :(

  • @piccicacca me too! i miss sheehan, i miss steve's old tone and playing... i think he's gone a bit down in terms of playing and inspiration.. it seems his attention is drawn by composing and orchestras and shit...away from the guitar... when i saw him live in 2005 with the breed it was a fucking blast.... no violins on stage xaxaxa... sheehan and tony macalpine!!! they will be back you ll see

  • @nemogre Thanks for the opinion; however, in return you are awarded a thumbs down and "boo!"

  • looks like the wah pedal is spring loaded.

  • @guitardaze it is. it's a morely bad horsie. it's badass. I have one.

  • Jesus.

    Steve is simply awesome.

Sometimes I forget how good he is, then I watch a video like this and remember.

Excellent upload. How long before Vai management have it taken down?

  • Isn't this The Audience is Listening?
