One major thing is that you seem to be using a moving light source/knife edge, but the light source doesn't really move. I would really suggest you get involved and do interferometry tests instead. Check out the interferometry yahoo group for details.

Pretty neat. Have you made this particular tester? If so, where is the light source? What type of light do you use and why?

I did build this tester back then just to see if it would work .
I used i flatted led as lightsource and this was positioned under the peephole .
But living on a second floor with a wooden floor makes it hard to use .
