I'd have to think there's an earthquake of some sort going on! C'mon you twat stop acting so prude, scream HOLY MOTHER OF GOD FUCKING GET OUT OF HERE!! FUCK THIS SHIT!
@AlfredoDelDrama Yep. There's two seismic zones at the southern end. One on the border with Indiana near the Ohio River, another just south of the southern tip of the state in the Mississippi.
Earthquakes are damned scary. Went through the Northridge. Nothing worse than being awoken by an earthquake. You think the shaking will go on forever. You just get no warning!
@lasalleman I remember when I was little and an earthquake hit. I was playing GI Joes or something and a large earthquake hit (about a 5.4), I just booked it towards underneath my bed. It was weird, instinct just took over lol.
If you notice, he said "we'll be able to tell pretty quick if it's an earthquake or a tremor". Technically, there is a difference so he was checking to see what exactly happened so he could report more accurately.
The goal of a reporter is to be as accurate as possible and report facts. The meteorologist wanted to verify that it was, indeed, an earthquake and probably wanted to get seismological references such as Richter scale recordings before announcing it. As for the difference between a tremor and an earthquake, a tremor is the result of movement of magma beneath the earth's crust and a quake results from shifts in tectonic plates, according to the USGS. Of course, both result in shaking.
Since when is it a requirement to be a genius to report the news? Ever heard of FOX?

@orthopox224 Loma Prieta Was an Earthquake that his multiple cities but was down played to keep people from panicking the fact is in pittsburg an area formerly known as Shore acres now called Bay Point we lost our home there and so did others because of loma prieta so fact is fact what we see here is an aftershock from a larger Quake which are classed as tremors WOW I said too much
The New Madrid is a deadly quake zone, it was last most devastating in 1811-12 hitting 8's on the scale 3x. It formed Reelfoot Lake & Caddo Lake in Texas. Since 1974 it's been closely watched recording over 4000 quakes most too small to feel but once in awhile you get one such as this one. When it happens, it happens, hopefully people will have more discerning awareness than these folks on TV.
I heard that if a 7.8 New Madrid quake were to happen today it would be 1000 times worse than quakes that take place in California, Alaska, Oregon Washington and Haiti combined mainly because the Eastern half of the US does not put emphasis on preparing for the big quake like CA does. I heard that both the Hayward fault in CA, and New Madrid fault are overdue for "The Big One"
Talking Heads: ..the lights are shaking, this must be an earthquake of sorts, u can feel the whole studio shaking.....we now can see the roof starting to collapse...a chunk of concrete just hit Kelly in the head, lets sit here & see if we all get trapped in the rubble, we'll bring it to u live......
I think it's funny how much of a deal they make from this. I'm don't blame them, it probably IS a big deal there. Here in New Zealand though, we sit right on a fault-line and earthquakes happen all the time. The shaking they would be almost nothing from my point of view.
@K0RJ0, i've lived in san diego for 3yrs now and have felt several small quakes...cool but not a big deal. but in louisville? they do bad weather there not so much e-quakes.
Guy at 0:18 seems like he's super-analysing it lol I can imagine if he was being murdered, "Well it looks like this hooded man is inserting a knife of some sort into my chest several times... Reports show that the blood loss is increasing at a deadly rate. I will be back later with the weather."
@greeniealex Yeah but that's kinda what happens. You freak out and just keep blabbing on. We had a 7.1 where I live 4 months ago, and every aftershock you have makes you talk crazily about earthquakes.
The only quake I probably have experience was a few years ago. It only felt like a Mack truck going through. There's actually a fault system in NE Kansas that goes from northeast of Manhattan (by the Tuttle Creek spillway) to the NE into Nebraska. It then arches to the NW almost parallel to the Missouri river.
If one goes to the spillway, and look at the rock layers, you can see a 10-15 offset in the layers. A fault is visible in that.
@CapPicard, there is a visible fault line in madison and fayette cos. in kentucky.
there are two bridges that cross interstate 75 at about mi. #100.
you can see the discontinuity best underneath the bridges on the old road and another place close to an entrance ramp on the fayette co. side northbound.
these people are idiots! All that college education, And they are just as clueless as Popeye

Just after the end of this clip in fact a large reinforced concrete beam fell into the studio and some of these people were badly crushed.

For @donnyab:
That is not funny. You have obviously never been in a quake.

CapPicard 2 years ago
@CapPicard, there is a visible fault line in madison and fayette cos. in kentucky.
there are two bridges that cross interstate 75 at about mi. #100.
you can see the discontinuity best underneath the bridges on the old road and another place close to an entrance ramp on the fayette co. side northbound.
