  • wtf there like, "oh look a earthquake hhhmm.... uhh, what do we do? should we go to weather?"

  • The Weather Service!! Funny.

  • @smimot Why would WAVE-3 depend on the Weather Service for a quake I thought you go to USGS or Caltech for a quake investigation?

  • @recto89 That's exactly what was said on the video. Didn't you listen?

  • "Okay, now one of these lights seems to have fallen and crushed me. Kevin, can you confirm that?"

    Gee, ya think so?

  • ha, a 5.2 earthquake!! that's a lil' tiny baby. Here in Japan we're still getting aftershocks that are 7.0's.

  • @asijlatinoamericano1 in kentucky we dont get earthquakes ad thts our first one for a long time ad tht was my first one ever it was scary 2 us

  • I think they stayed really calm considering. I'd be a mess if that was me on air.

Are there different varieties of earthquake, and is a difference between Earthquake and Tremor. LOL.

  • They do this every time they run out of stories to cover

  • sorry dude, we dont get many earthquakes around here. I'm 30 years old and that was the first one of my life time. Honestly the thought of it being an earthquake was no where in my mind.

  • "Lemme just check if that was an earthquake, or... tremor of some sort..."

You do not need to be a scientist to figure out that that was indeed an earthquake. Tool

  • I belive this a eathquake of some sort.. Idiots

  • thought listening to the police band was illegal?

  • They sound like idiots while trying to keep "professional"... damn it, just be real! Especially when something like this was happening.

  • THE END IS NEAR

  • @ChesoXD NO.

  • @BrandonxxYn1 Yes the New Madrid fault is close to St. Louis.

  • "Who would cover that, the weather service"

  • @robsumn56

    soooooo f#(%ing funny!

  • @robsumn56 LOL, no the Earthquake Service. Heh.

  • Proof that a big chunk of a newscasters salary is to sit there and look good. "some sort of tremor"... Bahaha. Geniuses.

  • shes fucking stupid...

  • @k39564 yea, why would the weather people be experts on earthquakes lol

  • @zawind01 cool that's only 3 hours from where I live lol

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry, should have 5.2, correcting myself.

  • Hahahaha I only half woke up during this shit. I can sleep through a 5.4 Magnitude Earthquake, come at me bros.

  • PEOPLE PEOPLE!

There will be a MAJOR CATASTROPHIC EARTHQUAKE on the New MAdrid Fault Line

    ON PURPOSE!!!! w w w . fema.gov/media/fact_sheets/nle2011_fs.shtm

Heres a federal government website that proves its going to have its "excercise" this MAY!

  • Earthquake or tremor.... What's the f-ing difference!... The ground moved!

  • A quote from Al Murray- "We don't get earthquakes in the UK... No.... because we don't deserve them"! XD

  • The weather lol

  • wow they get new news faster that people catch the common cold....

  • that lady is hot

  • "perhaps a tremor of sorts" lol wow

  • Who's that hot hunk in the gym at 0:00.

  • I'd have to think there's an earthquake of some sort going on! C'mon you twat stop acting so prude, scream HOLY MOTHER OF GOD FUCKING GET OUT OF HERE!! FUCK THIS SHIT!

  • ILLIONS have earthquakes?

  • @AlfredoDelDrama: Oh Sure, Lincoln has earthquakes. But there so far deep underground. they don't get any higher than a 4 pointer

  • @AlfredoDelDrama Yep. There's two seismic zones at the southern end. One on the border with Indiana near the Ohio River, another just south of the southern tip of the state in the Mississippi.

  • Earthquakes are damned scary. Went through the Northridge. Nothing worse than being awoken by an earthquake. You think the shaking will go on forever. You just get no warning!

  • @lasalleman I remember when I was little and an earthquake hit. I was playing GI Joes or something and a large earthquake hit (about a 5.4), I just booked it towards underneath my bed. It was weird, instinct just took over lol.

  • It's an earthquake of SOME SORTS. Let me check, and we'll be able to tell pretty quick if it is indeed an earthquake or a tremor.

These bumpkins need a machine for that? wtf?

  • @StevenShields29

If you notice, he said "we'll be able to tell pretty quick if it's an earthquake or a tremor". Technically, there is a difference so he was checking to see what exactly happened so he could report more accurately.

  • @ninfidelis what is the difference? a tremor is just a small earthquake......

  • @tedtug

The goal of a reporter is to be as accurate as possible and report facts. The meteorologist wanted to verify that it was, indeed, an earthquake and probably wanted to get seismological references such as Richter scale recordings before announcing it. As for the difference between a tremor and an earthquake, a tremor is the result of movement of magma beneath the earth's crust and a quake results from shifts in tectonic plates, according to the USGS. Of course, both result in shaking.

  • @ninfidelis OMG I didn't ask for a long story!

Since when is it a requirement to be a genius to report the news? Ever heard of FOX?

Look, they're both earthquakes, tremors are small quakes, got it? and no I didn't have to go research that on USGSdotcom or wikipedia like you did, I have a background in geology =)

Long winded, boring stories aren't required for everything. Bye.

  • @StevenShields29 Kentucky News anchors are idiots...

  • Should have been a 9.5.

  • Earthquake handled by weather man? Typical blonde comment.

  • @jeste4187 right lol the weather service. How dah hell she made it on national TV. Put her ass back in the kitchen

  • Earthquake of some sort, aww americans never cease to amaze me with their dumbness. Wow.

  • "of course out screws are scrambling right now" rofl!

  • 'I would have to think that this is an earthquake of some sort' hahahahahaha what kind of idiotic brain can construct such a dumbass sencence? Untill he finds all the redundant words they'll probably die heheheheheehehehehehh

  • Man they are genius. "Was that an earthquake?" Noooooooooo. Your studio is just shaking for no apparent reason.

  • @CantSeeTheStars HEEE this comment made my morning! Thank you!

  • see if i was that news guy i would jump on the woman so she falls on the floor and start shaking on her and say its the earthqake,i'll save you ,thank me later

  • 3 months ago there was in my city one earthquake of 7.2 and a lot of aftershocks

  • The weatherman pretends not to be scared and be professional, but he is shitting bricks.

  • ahahha no shit itz an earthquake! it may be an earthquake? derp!

  • I must say - these reporters did a very professional job in this situation. They kept their cool and described the situation to the viewers in a objective, professional manner.

  • You people are nuts to live out there on top of a fault line.

  • how watches news at 4:36???

  • lol!!!! this is funny!!! they have no idea what to do!!!! if this was in california they would say "oh an earthquake, now onto other news..." lol

  • Are all of your Anchor people from California because no one has a southern accent. I thought it was LA at first until I saw WAVE which W is east and K is west. And what is Kentuckiana?

  • How bout some news people???

  • Yeah, call the weather service, lightning probably struck the ground and caused an earthquake. DUH!

  • The guy on the weights at the beginning caused it. He's just that strong.

  • Look at the smile on her face. The tremor feels like the vibrator in her night stand.

  • she's nice, love to be in the rubble with her

  • Ohh come on people Michael Moore was starting his jogging routine.

  • @spareaxe Nike should come out with a Michael Moore Strength shoe... the Nike Blimp or maybe the Nike Mike... that protects not the jogger's foot and shins and knees, but the community in which he jogs.

  • That's funny - but everyone knows Michael Moore doesn't jog...

  • hahahaha earthquakes and tremors are the same thing! except people refer small quakes as tremors- all though they called the Loma Preita, L' Aquilla and Haiti earthquakes tremors so i don't know!

  • @orthopox224 Loma Prieta Was an Earthquake that his multiple cities but was down played to keep people from panicking the fact is in pittsburg an area formerly known as Shore acres now called Bay Point we lost our home there and so did others because of loma prieta so fact is fact what we see here is an aftershock from a larger Quake which are classed as tremors WOW I said too much

  • This is WAVE in Louisville KY

  • kevin, what do you think? Look at the lights, its shaking ... really bizarre.. My goodness, I'd be running to the door.. like.. wow, duh!!!

  • Dont' worry folks,,,,it's just a Minor tremor here in....

    WAAAAHHHHHHARRRRRRRGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The New Madrid is a deadly quake zone, it was last most devastating in 1811-12 hitting 8's on the scale 3x. It formed Reelfoot Lake & Caddo Lake in Texas. Since 1974 it's been closely watched recording over 4000 quakes most too small to feel but once in awhile you get one such as this one. When it happens, it happens, hopefully people will have more discerning awareness than these folks on TV.

  • I heard that if a 7.8 New Madrid quake were to happen today it would be 1000 times worse than quakes that take place in California, Alaska, Oregon Washington and Haiti combined mainly because the Eastern half of the US does not put emphasis on preparing for the big quake like CA does. I heard that both the Hayward fault in CA, and New Madrid fault are overdue for "The Big One"

  • OTT

  • Yeah right, call the weather service, it's "rain-quake" buahahauahua

  • Talking Heads: ..the lights are shaking, this must be an earthquake of sorts, u can feel the whole studio shaking.....we now can see the roof starting to collapse...a chunk of concrete just hit Kelly in the head, lets sit here & see if we all get trapped in the rubble, we'll bring it to u live......

  • " who covers that? the poké-service? "

  • eh... so there is an earthquake and you all sitting like you are having supper?

  • @yes4me lol, that's what i was thinking

  • what a hot woman! she might has a very sweet kiss!

  • why wouldnt they run outside to avoid being crushed by some lights. DUMB

  • omg that was the worst bullshit ii have watched

  • lol o yea what do you think bob I think you should get your as under the table

  • YUP THATS AN EARTHQUAKE ALRIGHT

  • the ground is shaking, "maybe its an earthquake."

DUH what else could it be?

  • gee golly this may be an earthquake, we better google it and find out, who covers this the sports desk?

  • lol they look like they're all ready to dive under a desk.

  • very sexy chick

  • I am in Louisville and was watching this very newscast when the quake hit. My JRT jumped in bed with me about 10 minutes earlier.

  • Perhaps a tremor?? no you silly goose, it was king kong.... duh!

  • I think it's funny how much of a deal they make from this. I'm don't blame them, it probably IS a big deal there. Here in New Zealand though, we sit right on a fault-line and earthquakes happen all the time. The shaking they would be almost nothing from my point of view.

  • @K0RJ0, i've lived in san diego for 3yrs now and have felt several small quakes...cool but not a big deal. but in louisville? they do bad weather there not so much e-quakes.

  • WOW!!!!!!!! We are getting earthquack's here in Okla Crazy!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember this earthquake, I woke up right about when it happened.

  • "of some sort"!? lol

  • Amateurs.

  • they never went to chris

  • He's only 156

  • godstenrules, this was in louisville, ky.

  • I this was San Francisco or LA we yould yell We're having an earthquake like Al Michaels and Duck under the desk

  • Where was this?

  • lol i remeber that earthquack i was laying in bed asleep and it woke me up i was scared..lol

  • Just after the end of this clip in fact a large reinforced concrete beam fell into the studio and some of these people were badly crushed.

  • For @donnyab:

That is not funny. You have obviously never been in a quake.

  • omg they are soooooo dramatic. The lights are BARELY moving!

  • Guy at 0:18 seems like he's super-analysing it lol I can imagine if he was being murdered, "Well it looks like this hooded man is inserting a knife of some sort into my chest several times... Reports show that the blood loss is increasing at a deadly rate. I will be back later with the weather."

  • hahaha,alll calm and shit.

  • hahahahahaha

  • @greeniealex Yeah but that's kinda what happens. You freak out and just keep blabbing on. We had a 7.1 where I live 4 months ago, and every aftershock you have makes you talk crazily about earthquakes.

  • The only quake I probably have experience was a few years ago. It only felt like a Mack truck going through. There's actually a fault system in NE Kansas that goes from northeast of Manhattan (by the Tuttle Creek spillway) to the NE into Nebraska. It then arches to the NW almost parallel to the Missouri river.

If one goes to the spillway, and look at the rock layers, you can see a 10-15 offset in the layers. A fault is visible in that.

  • @CapPicard, there is a visible fault line in madison and fayette cos. in kentucky.

there are two bridges that cross interstate 75 at about mi. #100.

you can see the discontinuity best underneath the bridges on the old road and another place close to an entrance ramp on the fayette co. side northbound.

  • 0:01 ... Her face... priceless
