My favorite song ever. He did so many takes in studio Chas Chandler quite and Hendrix produced Electric Ladyland alone. Every time he'd do a solo he'd blow everyone away then do another take, somehow better than the last. He Wanted his homage to Dylan to be perfect. Rated best cover of all time by Rolling Stone.

Jimi never played a song the same way twice..his improv is so badass like in this version for example..he always played his songs differently which make learning his songs a bitch.

@CobrazVeNoMx yea he does! the slavery abolition act happened in 1833, i think he's sayin, he thinks the song is about the slave rebellion in jamaica the year before that kinda made that happen... bobby d's lyrics come from a biblical passage about the fall of Babylon, a sinful city. i guess jimi's interpretation is that, that verse is being used to describe the fall of an evil institution (slavery)... i dunnoo if that's what dylan had in mind, but i'll buy it. ..also, jimi=GOD!!! :D
