This is the song my Grandma danced too with her sons, sons in law, and grandsons at my cousins wedding for her 80th birthday. She died a month ago and just listening to this song brings tears of sadness and joy to my eyes thinking of that moment and how great of a person she was. We all miss you Nanny RIP 1/4/12 <3
UNLUCKY 13 or LUCKY 13???: "Through The Years" peaked at No. 13 and spent a total of 15 weeks on Billboard's Top 100 in 1981/82, it entered the charts on December 26th, 1981...
{Was it bad luck to have peaked at #13 or good luck that it spent 15 weeks on the charts???}
This song really representing my feel to my beautiful wife, we are close to 15 years being together, I feel my love much stronger to her.....Through the years
This was the Mother and son dance when i got married 6 years ago. She passed away this past February fighting MS for years. First time i listened to this i a long time, i miss her....but I know she's no longer suffering.........i will always remember she never gave up on me and got me through some tough times.....i will smile everytime i hear this song in memory of her.
@jazz351974 wow that great happy for you i wish my parents are the same but my dad past away in 2010 and my bother in 2007 and my mum is sad ever day and me peace god bless your mam and dad
when my mother passed away this was the first song i picked to use as a memorial cd just for her, this song has touched my family in a way none of the other songs on the cd did, whenever it plays there isnt a dry eye in the room, this song has truly helped my family get through a very hard time, this song will forever have a very special place in my heart.
This song is bitter sweet to me. My Grandparents had these friends named Carl and Mary that they knew since my Dad was little. Carl and Mary lived in Indiana. My Grandparents went through everything with Carl and Mary. Even the departing of one of their sons who served in the Marine Corps and died in Vietnam. For their friendship of fifty years they gave my Grandparents a wind up sculpture of an elderly couple on a swinging bench hanging from a tree that played this song. R.I.P Carl and Mary
This sounds like an anniversary song. I remember my mom ALWAYS playing this song when I was younger & it wasn't until I got older that I really appreciated the lyrics.
its kinda the same as the other girl but this is my grandma and papas wedding video and my pap died of cancer so i cry so hard when i listen to this song!!!!!! <3
Through the years I listened to this song over and over again. It gets better day by day. It really turned my life around. Although sometimes things got bad but It will kiss my tears away. I've learned wat life is about...through the years.
I was trying to find the appropriate song for awhile now to play on our 25th wedding anniversary, which was yesterday 9/19, and thought of this one (we went on a cruise to celebrate!!) - it is so appropriate!! I found it on youtube and played it for my husband last night at exactly 9:19pm and we danced to it!! It was very romantic and he loved it and, of course, I was crying!! :D <3
One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. It is one of a few songs my wife and I consider "our songs". The lyrics are so very true of the years we shared. I lost her five years ago, and the tears are coming now...
what does this song have to do with school graduations? its about a relationship in how the girl means alot to him. Did you people go to some kinky schools or what?
I remember this song playing on the radio. here in Jersey on the way to Freehold Raceway w/ my now deceased dad during the late 70's.....you can't buy memories like that, The ironic thing is that sometimes this plays on my alarm as I wake up here in central Jersey listening to 98.3.......just goes to show how some music is timeless!!
@incrediblehulkmovies seems like the final destination flicks have a way of taking a popular easy listening song and twisting it into a haunting song. Especially in the 1st Final Destination movie they used John Denvers Rocky Mountain High song since he was killed in a plane crash and the french class in the movie were killed too. Pretty creative thinking, something that sticks.
One of the best songs ever.Everytime i hear this it reminds me of my life with my wife of 30 years,so blessed and wouldnt change a thing.Life is to short, enjoy every moment like its your last.
i now know and realize how important this song is to me.... passed realationship...should have never left him... ill get over it but nice to see beautiful stories...wish i had one...someday soon
This song is simply amazing...I had never heard it until the other day but it has struck my heart so much and brought tears to my eyes...I may be getting a bit ahead of myself, only being 22, But... I want this to be my anniversary song for 20, 30, 40+ years together with the one I love...
My mother and I danced to this song at my wedding. I chose it purposely to make her cry (happy cry). Since then she has passed and I come back to this song when I need to feel closer to her and cry my own tears. Awesome song from the first note to the last kleenex in the box!
getting a family play list together in put from all different music and this song was picked a few times. danced w/ my daddy to it at my wedding. love you forever pops
I never met a Kenny Rogers song I didn't like... my parents died many years ago...I thank God every day that I had them for parents and role models...we are often unaware of their remarkable gifts when we are young.....
Cheryl my love, this is how I feel towards you after 25 years together. I can't remember when you were'nt there darlin'. I'm undone and incomplete without my sweet wife. How graciously our awesome God has blessed me with you. I love you so Cheryl Kay.
This song is decated to my Mom and Dad 'cause they been together for 26 years and their love for each other is unbelieveable. I hope when I get married one day it will be forever just like my parents...
my dad died thursday june 16,2011. my life is crashing down around me. we never got the chance to talk. he died before i could get there. i'm 39 years old, but right now i feel like a scared little boy. i love you daddy.
@colaman1220 Lost my dad in March from complications of Parkinsons disease. Know the feeling. Be strong and live life. Pop wouldnt want it any other way.

I'm 15 and recently lost my grandpa..last year to be exact. I was very close to him. My grandparents, aunt and uncle had disowned us for a year or so over something that now seems so stupid..it happened a couple years ago. Then we got a call from my grandma saying my grandpa was sick..he died a year later. In the late nineties my aunt and mother made a video for him for his retirement..this was one of the songs. It's very special to me. I cant stop crying..thinking about the old days.
