I did something similar but I used the muffler from an r1. It didn't have that raspy note at the end. I have a 2.25 full exhaust, gutted cat and my muffler comes over the axle like factory, but diagonally exits from the factory point. It sounds great though, it has a nice deep note without any rasp. I am needing a water pump at the moment but will be installing a turbo, I decided to go with a traditional setup instead of rear mount based on how great the muffler sounds on my set up.
@sbghms if you think about its just a lambo with no rear bumper so if you took the miata and did that put the bumper on with an outlet through the bumper its the same as a lambo just doesnt have lambo badge or over priced tag
@sbghms who cares. Center exit exhausts look awesome. Not to mention the miatas rear bumper is like a parachute. Probably picked up 3 mpg's from the decreased wind resistance alone.
@JD0x0 ... wrong? I mean not trying to be a douche, but the pocket that collects air, actually doesn't hurt Mpg. It decreases drag, and yes, does increase lift, however, It's like a truck, 1: doesn't make a big difference either way... 2: if it does, bumper on is better...
@JD0x0 i get better with mine on i had it of for a couple weeks for repairs (some jackass almost ripped it of in a parking lot) and i would fill up once a week with it on with it off i was filling up every 5 days so i lost 2 days of gas with it off :( it wasnt cheap gas either
