  • yaaaaaaaaa craig

  • love my cousinn :)

  • man i love this guy he really should rock the mullet again

  • for those of you from Australia, and know how big Steve Prefontaine was in the United States and are familiar with his attitude, do you also see a resemblance?

  • when i first saw this guy thats what i thought

  • Craig Mottram is a fantastic athlete - on the same level as a Steve Ovett in terms of talent and charisma, and regardless of what anyone thinks of him personally, he is one of the most EXTREMELY important athletes in all of track and field today. The reality is, the sport in Europe is dying under the seemingly endless production line of African middle distance runners that unfortunately the athletic fans of Europe have little in common with. Craig Mottram is a throw back to the days of

  • hes nowhere near steve ovetts level. And never will be. Ovett ruled the trak and ran many worlds records and had olympic medals. Mottram couldnt even make the bejing final. And all he has won is 1 medal in a WC because it came down to a scrapy sprint finish.

  • John Walker, Ovett, Steve Scott etc, which was undoubtedly the true birth of the professional athletics circuit as we know it, and I can tell you that the fans of Europe more than appreciate seeing an athlete they can distinguish from the others and in a way, personally relate to. People may not like Mottram because of his attitude/actions -- but he never pretends to be anything he is not. There are times when I personally have heard things from Mottram

  • And thought he could have gone about things a little differently, but who am I to judge. Like him or loathe him, you HAVE to respect him. With regards to the comment on Nick Willis, Nick and Craig may be on a par physically, but mentally Craig Mottram is on another level. I am guessing the guy who labelled Mottram as Willis's "bitch" has never seen these guys race in Europe, where Mottram will ALWAYS take on the challenge, put himself in a position

  • To always run his fastest and win the race, whereas Willis is more often than not content to sift around at the back of races, never prepared to really test his limits and pick off the gutsy guys who die in the last 150 meters of a race, usually for a standard middle of the pack finish. Mottram is the all round package, tough and uncompromising and we should embrace a guy like him while he is still around.

  • i totally agree

  • Mottram is the man. I really don't see any other runners with that kind of attitude, the foul language, and the funny anecdotes. He is definitely one of the most chill runners out there.

  • Unbelievable. Hes a professional athlete. Post your times, you're not faster than him. The only criticism you can post is that concerning the hairstyle. Are mullets "in" down under?

  • 1: Craig Mottram has a life, so if going out to clubs and what not is part of it so beit.

2: Alcohol does NOT affect performance, weeks after it has been consumed, and after continuous training. If u think that abstention will "beat" the africans, u go ahead with that and see how u get on. The Africans have that edge due to early living conditions, very little which anyone can do about that. craig4eva

  • yes alchol will have an affect on his performance. It will affect his training so it will affect how fit he gets. It doesnt matter how small efect were talking but alchol has no positives on getting fitter but only negatives. UNDERSTAND?

  • Mottram is nothing compared to Nick Willis - when the big event comes he faulters. He is nick's bitch.

  • Here here 'Racketer'. Bekele aint out gettin Pissed and so on. Thats cause he is da man and dominates everything. Mottram is just awanabe.Sort it out Mottram u drunkin mess.

  • FUCK UR A USELESS BASTARD MOTTRAM. what da fuck u going out drinking for? i hope you get whooped by bekele

  • He talkin about gettin pi**ed and so on.. Well maybe if he had not doesn't go and get drunk so much then he might actually beat the Africans more often and win somthing big..He thinks it is funny having a hangover and all. Not so funny when you get hammered by Bekele. Great runner if he gets the head right

  • Just 'cause he's an athlete, doesn't mean he can't have a few drinks or "get pissed" every now and then, he's 20 something years old for goodness sake. =_="

And he will beat them eventualy, a drink, or in that case a whole load of drinks, doesn't hurt every now and then. Who wouldn't wanna et pissed after that incodent. I know I would :S

But maybe you're just too good for that sorta thing.

  • fuck up. U wana be the best u have to make sacrfices ok? If he gets beat in his next race by 0.01 of a second it will be the drink and shit he's been eating that stopped him from winning! U just dont understand how much u have to give up if u wana be the best ever runner. THE ROAD TO SUCCESS ISNT AN EASY ONE. thats why only certain people are cable of reaching such heights of success and mottram isnt one of them

  • Yeh, that's true, it isn't easy

But drinking responsibly doesn't have an affect on the way you perform.... I'm not saying he should go get pissed for a whole week, then perform the next, 'cause yes, that sure as hell would affect his performance, I doubt he competed for quite a while after he "got pissed", if he did, then yes, that was stupid,

  • but I doubt that was the case. I'm sure it doesn't help, 'cause it would affect his training, therefore affect his result, but I don't think he had much going on after this event.

Never the less, he seems to be doing pretty well atm... it's a very emotionally chalanging sport, everyone has ups and downs.

    Failing is apart of success

Failure is quiting and giving up.

It wasn't smart what he did

    but everyone makes stupid decisions

it's wether or not you learn from it.

    He hasn't quit yet. :P

  • Farrrrrout that was a long post...

I just wasted 10 mins of my life talking about someone else training when I could be spending that time training myself...

    Fucking computers.

    Lol

  • the fastest non-african born 5,000m runner ever doesn't constitute reaching successfull heights?

  • well actualy Dieter Baumann has ran faster over 5000m than mottram

  • Mottram is a legand! Most underrated athlete in Australia! Cheers Foraggio

  • WOOOO IM RELATED 2 HIM

  • Word on the street is that CM isn't getting enough sleep. Apparently he's having recurring nightmares about Nick Willis.

  • Im faster.

  • craig turly is a mans man! look at that hair! such an idolistic figure!

  • this is great

  • Thanks - it was fun. Craig is a top guy, and so easy to interview. A gem of a runner, and a fine athlete to boot.
