Inv2004 is right; it is the best racing film ever made. The natural car sounds are addictive! These scenes perfectly show the palpable anticipation at a racing event like this.

Love it! Le Mans can not be approached like a regular movie, and you have to love racing to love this movie. I read somewhere that during the making of Le Mans some problem came up with shooting one of the non racing scenes and one of the top production ppl said "Oh no! What are we going to shoot now?" McQueen yelled "THE CARS!! WE SHOOT THE FUCKING CARS!!!" If he had it his way it would be ALL cars the whole way through. That'd be fine with me!

Oooo! 'Grand Prix' is out? MGM wouldn't release it for years...some sort of legal red tape, from what I heard. Glad to hear this.
