hi, i've used NewTek Lightwave for modelling ad for animation. maybe is not the best software avaible, but i think it has a very friendly interface ,and the original version is very cheap. that is very important if you want to start making business with your own animations.
depending on your sound card you may be able to record "What you hear" on your computer. This means that if you have a computer-game like "need for speed", in the game you can turn the music off and just record the car engine noises. This means that you then have control of what car sounds are made when etc so you can be more adventurous.
woah hey, sry, I read your comment, and was wondering. I have that "what you hear" capability with that sound blaster card and was wondering how you get that to work? I turn that on instead of the mic and when I play back I just get silence. And would it work for movies? Any suggestions?

Very cool animation. I really like the camera work and camera movement. By moving the camera around, it really creates more dynamism in the video.
