  • tooooo muuuuuuu chhhhhh treeeeeeeeeeeeeeebel!

  • Sweet. SWEET!

  • HA HA THIS BRING ME BACK TO MY CHILDHOOD EVERY TIME

  • "She's so fuck'n mad"

  • yeah he is a genius i love the fact that he uses the name adolf that took guts

  • @elvispresley718 Just pointing out he isn't simply using the name. He's referencing the German Nuclear Energy Project. Because of that project a number of scientists defected to warn the United States who in turn started their own nuclear project which contracted a number of scientists including Enrico Fermi.

  • @cloury thanks for enlightening me a peter gabriel fan is a smart fan

  • Anyway.

  • Sounds like "she's so fucking gay"

  • 47 people got pee'd on in the jungle :x

  • ah, the days of soulful, intelligent music and lyrics

  • any one know if this is copyright on youtube

  • Tζόκερ για την ομάδα της Ουγγαρίας...

  • Lots of games to play

  • people just to get this straight is only people in america that can vote against this sopa shit,i hear about it all the time and i live in ireland if there is anyway i could help but i think not good luck you guys

  • @regularjohn09 Amen

  • luddites were a movement in the 1800's protesting technology

  • Thank you, Peter Gabriel, for coming out in opposition to SOPA and PIPA. You have always been a man of reason and, even with the pressure of the RIAA, still does the right thing.

  • If you stare at his check, it looks like it is moving.

  • Kick ass song!! Peter Gabriel is simply brilliant.

  • who are the people mentioned in the song. i know who adolf is but who are the others

  • @AltyFilms He doesn't refer to any specific people, he just uses typical names for various nationalities. This song was written as the title song for the Games without Frontiers TV show, but they turned it down (no surprise, if you read the lyrics, I guess), so he published it as a regular piece.

  • sounds like this might be the inspiration for the hook in Gotye's "Somebody I Used to Know"

  • @0797000

Jeux sans frontières, French for games without frontiers.

  • is he saying she's so fucky yea?

  • Is he saying she's so fucky yea??

  • I have this on 7" vinyl along with many other singles, 12" singles and LP's...vinyl is bliss!

  • I may be among the last of the luddites, but I still have this, and a couple of hundred other albums, on actual Vinyl, and still listen to them on an actual turntable through a pair of 30 year old JBL L100's. If you're under 30, you have no clue what I'm talkin about. Your loss!

  • @GeeWoody47 I think you over-estimate yourself sir, and underestimate people "under 30". A lot of younger people have been embracing vinyl for years and eschew the whole Itunes thing. Nothing sounds worse than a compressed music track

  • @GeeWoody47 as in Quaaludes? those luddites?

  • So Kate Bush really is the one singing "Jeux sans frontieres"?

  • @GamesFrontiers

Makes sense. Peter Gabriel and Kate had been friends and collaborators from the beginning.

  • This song melts my face.

  • one of my FAVORITE songs! He is amazing!

  • Should be the theme song for Occupy Wall Street protesters. :)

  • Peter Gabriel was absolutely brilliant in writing this song. He must be wide wake to the world and who really has the control over the masses. The world leaders are just puppets and they play them off against each other and sit back and make massive amounts of money in the process. JD Rockefeller made 200 million on WW1. With that they built the Tula factories in Tula Russia where the AK-47s where made. FYI more people have been killed by AK-47s than all other guns combined. Its about control!!!

  • awesome

  • is it whistling to tunes we piss on baboons? or is it kissing baboons? either way PG writes one helluva a fascinating song.

  • @glutamine001

Depends which version you're listening to. The original album version; at the second chorus the lyrics are "piss on the goons..." This was changed to "kissing baboons..." as per the first chorus, for the radio edit.

  • @R1L0CI Its koons , but why would he say such a racist thing in his lyrics for this track ?

  • @trickykid73

He didn't. Do a bit of digging around on the net :)

  • @trickykid73 Listen to all the lyrics in the song, the message. Especially the lines before and after coons. "hiding in treetops shouting out rude names""if looks could kill they probably will" The songs a social commentary on mans faults. Its not like hes saying niggers, bitches and fags like more modern music forms do just to sound tough, grandiose or masculine. The song addresses mans errors, war, racism, etc.

  • I love PWEI, but I was not impressed at all with their cover of this song. This is one of those songs that is so perfect, no one else can do it justice.

  • My favorite Gabriel tune!

  • Many and amny years ago I was a soldier and listened this song , while new soldiers came into the camp.. Terrible. You don't know what this means. Freedom isn't a word, but it's a real thing.

  • fkin classic

  • Fantastic.

  • Personally so much better than Phil Collins...

  • @Anaris10 phil collins is a dolt compared to peter gabriel

  • Team Vinyl

  • Good tune..Miss hearing this song..use to all the time durring the 80's

  • "Pissing on the goons in the jungle"...wow...awesome! Early 80's artistic freedom FTW!

  • When this first came out we thought he was singing "she's so funky now" instead of "juex sans frontiers"

  • @calglendad and then we realised it was Kate Bush singing that line ;)

  • Quality!

  • could have esily been a genesis song

  • Actually its about wars .to the globalists its just a game . y es i know we had a stoopid gameshow i watched it when i was a kid . Its likening war to a gameshow where no one cares the outcome .

  • @NumanFanlfc - "Games without frontiers; war without tears . . . " Your summation is how I interpreted these lyrics. A sad commentary on the state of humankind.

  • @ASeasonedWitch You are not kidding, back in the day Peter was slayed over "rascist" comments, pissing on coons if you will? Indeed we live in very sad state of late, at least US leaves 1 war theater?

  • @superunt43 the United States Government was taken away from the people in 1913. The last "REAL" president we has was Kennedy and you know what happened to him. Kennedy was about to desolve the Federal Reserve and was already starting to print treasury note notes and do away with federal reserve note. This is why he was killed, the money changers would have lost control over everything and they couldn't have that happening. Presidents are selected not elected, nothing will change

  • @MasterWitchDoctor

The United States government was taken away from the people in 1913... but we had a "real" president in the early 1960s? How does that work?

  • @superunt43 until we the people take our country back. Oblahblah is the worst of the worst and has built his administration around Wall Street lobbyist. With the exception of Gates and Hillary everyone in his administration is Wall Street. The money junkies who have an agenda like the NDAA bill he signed into law which now America can be arrested and detained without due process. It guts the Constitution and blames it for the New World Orders own doings. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

  • @MasterWitchDoctor I have no clue where this discussion went? My apologies for provoking such comment? Good stuff, however, good thought.

  • @Hes referring to the Globalist New World Order and their manipulation of mankind (everything from war to the Olympics) and how silly people are for follow a flag. "Andre has a red flag/ Chiang Ching's is blue/They all have hills to fly them on except for Lin Tai Yu.Andre refers to Andre Malraux ) the French statesman/author of the book Man's Fate, about the 1920s communist regime in Shanghai.

  • @ASeasonedWitch

Red flag refers to Malraux's leftist politics. Chiang Ching could refer to Chiang Kai-shek Chinese leader of the Kuomintang who opposed the Communists - hence, the rightwing Blue Flag. Chiang's forces lost the civil war in 1949 and fled to Taiwan, where they set up a government in exile.

  • @NumanFanlfc you are absolutely correct sir, Adolf builds a bonfire, Enrico plays with it refering to Hitler starting WW2 . Enrico is referring to Enrico Fermi (1901-1954) who's theories finished it. Phonetically, Jeux Sans Frontiers is Zhuh Sahn Frahn-tee-ay which is french for Games Without Frontiers. "

  • damn his voice sounds alot like Phil Collins , Really nice

  • She's so popular... Jeux Sans Frontieres

  • Comment removed

  • Stray factoid: this track features Kate Bush on backing vocals.

  • This song is about a game show.I thought it was a love triangle :)

  • @tweepixie You are kidding? Tell me you are?

  • The Mans a artist! That's for sure!

  • @artsignsuk1 he is by definition an artist

  • This is a great bit of Music in the late 70.s.. 1978 I think if my memory serves me!

  • @artsignsuk1 1980 actually

  • PETER DESERVES A KNIGHTHOOD FOR HIS HONEST OBSERVATION OF EUROPE.

  • @Mauii100 What are you talking about?

  • ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

  • Jeux sans frontières- Sung by kate bush.

  • @palendromebob

    Hehe, I am impressed.

    Few people know that! :)

  • No, that's the way the intro goes.

  • Jeux sans frontières !! It' was a french show on tv I used to watch when I was a kid.

    PG 4 ever !

  • I love this song

  • SHE&^% will NEVER let this happen!

  • nice tune

  • Great, great song. Thanks for posting it. Truly a walk down memory lane.

  • I love this song! Bought a compilation with this song on it yesterday, Because they didn't have the studio in stock.

  • Was this off a record? Sounded like a needle coming down on the record in the very begginning.

  • Yes it was - The orignal pressing.

  • Ahhh vinyl...the only way to listen to music. The CD version of this album is compressed to death, sounds like FM radio. Whereas the original version you can actually make out the lyrics instead of it being a digitally compressed blur.

  • @jgyll8mt yes it is LP, Sounds great Love me some Peter Gabriel

  • This is one of THE songs I will never, ever forget...and many of them are by Peter Gabriel. Big man, awesome genes lol

  • This is a great album, I also have the German version, which is terrific

  • Great song

  • It is strange how a black person can be racist but a white person can not be tolerated to be racist ......Let's think about that ...shall we......

  • Its about how the leaders of the world powers... in a struggle for dominance or control... act like little children playing silly games. Think Lord of the Flies.

  • lol my French teacher promoted this song to me. :D She's awesome. :) Great Song. A real classic. :))

  • I personally think this song is pure genius and in no way think he was being racist in the context this was used. It is one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • its just wonderful, ti makes me think, it makes me cry, it makes me love again. LOVE IT

  • great comment, heartfelt, sincere.

  • Lol

The song is a critic to Games Without Frontiers the show due to the politics prior to 1989

Teams representing each(or whatver was at the time) countries competing to complete bizarres tasks in funny games

A very popular show in Europe

  • This is the first record I bought (yes, on 7" vinyl). I should add that this is the first record I bought as my own choice, because the 'other' first record was purchased by my hand but under instructions from my dad and was 'Save your kisses for me' by The Brotherhood of Man. Needless to say that I think that Peter Gabriel has the edge over The Brotherhood of Man when it comes to musical prowess....LOL!!

  • a great tune! *replays*

  • nice sex song yes..."Plays with Willy" :)

  • One of the strangest songs, but at the same time i love its mysticalness :)

  • Looked at through the prism of what we now see as being "politcally correct" many things that we said or done in the past now look to be horrendously bigoted. Just look at some of the animated films from the 1930's - 1950's. However, people were not as progressive at the time and cannot be judged by the standards of today. Whether that 's philosphically right or wrong, it is fact.

  • life without strife is no life at all...

    its stagnation

  • real music to take barbiturates to with runescape.

  • Awesome song !

  • this is from time when text of song was about something ..and not this bullshit these days

  • This song reminds me of my childhood in greece, athens/chalandri...i love it!

  • I heard this on the radio a couple weeks ago and I swear I haven't heard it since the early 80's!

  • this song is amazing, contraversial lyrics or not.

  • bloody great choon

  • Jane plays with Willy, Willy's happy again...gotta love the double entendre here!

  • this shit is fucking sick.....bad ass

  • I just listened to it several times and he is saying "piss on the coons" on this version but I remember on a greatest hits version he clearly said "piss on baboons" which I remember well because this is one of my fathers favorite songs and I always liked that line. Interesting.

  • it literally means pissing on coons racoons not black people some peeps are way tooo sensitive my grand parents on both sides of my fam came here in 1906 so they had nothing to do with slavery but yet im should have white guilt hell no like some one said all races were in slaved at one time and i can tell were and when also the case in africa peeps forget is the tribes of one tribe were taking and selling them to spanish and othe traders so i think know it would be called black on black crime

  • this is a great makin love song - lol

  • Its too long for me :(

  • @pinkytm1 You have every right to your opinion, but--too long? At just under four minutes it's at radio length. Have you ever heard some of Miles Davis's 20-minute long improvisations? Or a 10-minute song from King Crimson?

  • u wanna bang?

  • lmfaoo

  • I don't know. If you make love to this song, you are also including Lotte, Jane, Hans, Lin Tai Yu, Andre, Willy, Suki, Brit, Leo, Rico, and Adolph...

With that many people, you're bound to catch something.

  • Do you enjoy adapting to the funky rhythm while you're riding your boyfriend or what do you mean? (Honest question) :-)

  • Comment removed

  • lol...i totally agree

  • LOL

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA

  • Really??

  • Yes, but to be fair he had eaten alot of cake.

  • Understandable.

  • hahaha

  • Look, the mentally deficianttrying to be clever.

  • was it his last album?

  • This is why I try not to read the comments to videos. I just happened to look down and got another reminder.

  • @Batchylnuevos Sell it on EBAY!

  • I thought I heard Kate Bush singing in the back vocals. I'm so happy I discovered it was really her afterall!

  • das ist mein lieblingslied danke das du dieses eingestellt hast

  • Adolf is Adolf Hitler, Enrico is Enrico Fermi. Hitler started World War II in Europe, while Fermi's nuclear reactor enabled the nuclear weapons which ended the war in Japan.

  • But was it ever Fermi's intent that his discovery be used for mass destruction? Or was he hoping for a more peaceful application? I'm not sure he should be spoken of in the same sentence as Hitler, since it was the Manhattan Project that took his work and turned it into Fat Man and Little Boy.

  • Can you post more songs off the album. This, in my opinion was Gabriel's best. Thx

  • lmao what does juex sans frontieres smean in english?

  • games without frountiers

  • Games without frontiers ^_^

  • games without fronteirs

  • FurryOblivion09: 'Jeux sans frontières' is a French statement, pretty literally translated into 'Games without rules/frontiers.'

  • Games without frontiers

    Jeux is game

    Sans is without

  • great song

  • man this song is so trippy if your stoned

  • She is war.

  • Jeux... sans... fron-ti-ères

  • Parfait!

  • I always asked myself what she's singing. I never got that it was french. Thank you!

  • I love this song for the x games it goes so good

  • I never knew the song's racial subtext, but as a black man let me say that I love this song and only those who refuse to see the lyrics in context can possible be offended! Rock on Peter!

  • Well said!! Excellent post!

  • Lol

The song is a critic to Games Without Frontiers the show, the hypocrisy of it due to the politics prior to 1989

Teams representing each(or whatver was at the time) countries competing to complete bizarre tasks in funny games

A very popular show in Europe

  • the "pissing on coons" is PG taking a shot at colonialism. Sosiety would not be what it is today if it were not built upon the backs of enslaved peoples from mostly Africa. Shameful, isn't it? Our History?

    Peter Gabriel is a humanist.

  • lol horiible but funny how throughout all this society is propelled by rape and racism if none of this existed the earth would be still. society wouldnt have anything to complain about and thus meaning the things that propel us are the things we look down upon.

  • everybodies ancester was a slave of sombody

  • Ya Damn Right Peter Gabriel is a Humanist, just look at the lyrics to this song.

  • I think that your comment holds a great point.

    But slavery...It's everyone's history.....

All races and civilizations used slaves.

    All races have been enslaved.

It isn't right. It is horrible. But we are being taught that are country is so much worse for doing the same thing in a shorter period of time. It was terrible but no one focuses on the fact that people of this country worked hard to change that too.

  • mnclesunkey, i cannot believe i finally found someone with my same views searching for the song games without frontiers. thank you sir.

  • AMEN bro! EVERY civilization has used slaves! PERIOD! It's just, how well can you "market" your whining! Sure slavery is wrong, but what's the rating system, if you will, you know? It seems it's denegrated to, "I was more of a slave than you were", or whatever! These new black muslim's that now run this US government, for example, would they have the nerve to admit that even muhammed had slaves, and they were Africans! I mean, where do we start, & where do we stop taking it seriously? Good post!

  • Yes slavery is everyone's history, but do not dismiss how recent the slavery in America was, do not dismiss the whole entire period of segregation after it, and do not dismiss the long lasting impact it has on black people, even today. My parents vividly remember segregation, and I am in no way what one
