You can petition for Scottish Rite membership as soon as you get your Master Mason degree. Depending on you SR's schedule, you could get the degrees before the week is up -- degrees 4 to 32 are conferred over a two day period. No big deal.
I was handed an SR petition on the same night I became a Master Mason.

I live in Scotland, i know a mason, and my gf friends fathers is also a mason. and the only real way you can enter, is if a family member recommends you. So your family have got to be involved for you to enter, in most cases anyway. That's all they are, a bunch of individual family's who keep secrets they feel should be hidden. No lodge that I have ever visited or heard of rules that officer brothers cannot bring their weapon to a meeting. We have no authority to do that and no right to, either. Officers can take their weapons wherever they go, including the Lodge.

@FreshmenBolts You can reach the 32nd degree in a handful of months, actually. It typically takes three months to go from Entered Apprentice to Master Mason. You can petition for Scottish Rite membership as soon as you get your Master Mason degree. Depending on you SR's schedule, you could get the degrees before the week is up -- degrees 4 to 32 are conferred over a two day period. No big deal.
I was handed an SR petition on the same night I became a Master Mason.

I live in Scotland, i know a mason, and my gf friends fathers is also a mason. and the only real way you can enter, is if a family member recommends you. So your family have got to be involved for you to enter, in most cases anyway. That's all they are, a bunch of individual family's who keep secrets they feel should be hidden. In Scotland there are, lawyers, cops, judges, football (soccer) officials and others that are part of the masonic order. I don't trust fucks who keep secrets.

1st: My Police Officer Brothers do come to the Lodge frequently in Uniform.
2nd: I have witnessed an entire Masonic ceremony done by Police Officers in uniform for a fellow Officer at his initiation.
3rd: There are no "weapons" of any kind allowed in the Lodge by anyone, not just a Police Officer. This is true in many places, not just Masonic Lodges.

No lodge that I have ever visited or heard of rules that officer brothers cannot bring their weapon to a meeting. We have no authority to do that and no right to, either. Officers can take their weapons wherever they go, including the Lodge.
