  • Cooler Master Storm Scout or Cooler Master RC 692 Advanced?

  • hi,My fans ar all old and I have 5 of them in my computer,I was wondering if it's cheaper to buy this case (90$) or 5 seperate fans?

  • @TheExecel 5 fans are much cheeper as the case runs for $70 and you can get 5 fans for less than $30 but you have to know this case is amazing in every single way!

  • @XxLawlcatxX idk. I checked for the fans and there 20$ each :(((((((

  • @TheExecel What fans are you getting? Look at amazon, I got mine for like $8 each and there were 140mm red led. I would say get the case though.

  • Can someone help me? Is it possible to fit a E-ATX board in this case? with out modding it, or would I have to re-route the cables that come in the case?

  • will this tower hold a crosshair V formula?

  • the tx 570 doesn't fit :(

  • will this case fit a radeon 6990 or gtx 590?

  • sweet

  • This or HAF 922?! PLEASE awnser as im ordering soon! anyone awnsering is fine!

  • @ScrubTardy Honestly, I'd choose between the Storm Enforcer and the Storm Scout. But regardless, the biggest thing about this case is the handle. If you see yourself moving this thing a lot, like to lan parties or whatever, then pick this. If you think your computer will be stationary 99% of the time, get the Haf 922 or Storm Enforcer.

  • @deepvoicefromraleigh thanks bud:)

  • this or HAF 912

  • Lol I can't hear the cooling because of my own computers cooling xD

  • This case is shit I have one. That's right, you heard it here first.

  • Will this fit a radeon 6950?

  • lol, im buying this just because it has handles xD

  • Does a ASRock 970 EXTREME4 AM3+ motherboard fit in this case?

Also, the ATI Radeon HD 6970 graphics card is close to 11 inches, which fits, but should I get a bigger case just "in case"? lol

    Help is extremely appreciated.

  • @Soul3ss Motherboards come in only 3 sizes, and 99% are ATX. So yes, it will fit since this case supports ATX motherboards. About the second part, IDK because i don't have this case. I wouldn't worry since on paper it fits, but if you're really worried you could buy a bigger, similar case like the HAF 922.

  • @Mike44PL E-ATX XL-ATX M-ATX ATX try four......

  • @ChillieDog7thStreet Yea, but you get what I was trying to tell him.

  • @ChillieDog7thStreet u forgot itx and i thinks theres a btx cant remeber

    - Mutchyy

  • I have had this case for about a year. LOVE IT! Fits my 6870 crossfire as well as 2 radiators(tight fit but it works well) and a bay drive reservoir.

  • can i get 2 msi ligthnings in this case (6970)

  • @1deathbybeauty you rich motherfucker

  • Comment removed

  • Great review of this case.

For anybody that wants to see some great mods for this case, head over to the Storm Scout club thread at the Overclock . net forums. Great resource of information on all kinds of things you can do with this.

I'm working on mine right now and can tell you first hand even if you think it's not what you need, you can cut on this thing and cut on it and cut on it more to make it an even better case to suit your needs.

  • Can I get 2 6870s in this case?

It's either this, or the HAF 922

  • @AlabamaM4n You can put up to 10.5" Graphics cards

  • @Spezza149 thanks, thats is what I needed to know! The 6870s are 10.5s, so Im going to go with the haf 922 for the extra room. thanks again!

  • @AlabamaM4n No Problem :) But if I were you i'd go with the CM 690 II Advanced, it's the same price as the HAF 922 and can support 10 fans and it has much better cooling than the "High Air flow" 922. Trust me on this one.

  • @Spezza149 alright, I will check that out. Thanks again!

  • At @ clawbog the 5830 fits but bearly

  • can i fit AMD 6990 in this case ? and can I fit 2 ?

  • @dumbasshit123 You'll have to trim about an inch out of the back of the floor of the 5.25 bay as well as mod the HDD bay to drop the capacity down to a 3 or 4 drive bay instead of 5. It's dead simple though, just need a dremel to get the rivets out. When out, from the bottom cut out 1 or 2 of the 5 3.5 bays and while you've got the bay out of the case you can rotate it 90 degrees so air flow from that front lower fan goes through the case better.

  • Comment removed

  • I just got the cases, I hope my 5830 fit

  • @bricetheman2006 That card will fit in any case.....

  • the front panel has 4usb connections.

but my motherboard only has 3headers...

is there any way i could connect them to it or is 3 enough?

i didn't buy the case yet so i wouldn't know.

    any help?

  • maybe this one or the NZXT tempest evo, but dunno yet...

  • Only 1 problem with this case.... If you install 2 fans on side window witch is 120 mm each, the noise will increase so loudly...And i am thinking to remove those pretty fans on window side.....

  • do you know if a 6950 or gtx 580 can fit

  • Can any of the ATI Radeon 6870 Fit in this casing?

  • Comment removed

  • @JexusProductions I wanna upgrade to either 5870, 5850, 6870, 6850 from my current 4870 and i'm using this Cooler master storm scout, any recommendation as long as it fits in?

  • @yyn1992 the best graphicscard that fits is gtx 580 i belive. Sadly i think that 6950/6970 won't fit because it will hit the harddrive cages. But! It can allways be fixed with some modification in the case ;)

  • @JexusProductions What about ATI?

  • @yyn1992 a 6850 or a 6870 will fit in this case indeed

  • @JexusProductions I thought you previously said that it will not fit?

  • @yyn1992 I said the 6950/6970 won't fit in the case but a 6850 and a 6870 will fit. There is a diference, Bam!

  • Which one is better ?

Cooler master cm 690 II advanced or coolermaster storm scout?

I personally like the cm 690 II advanced but this one too isn't bad. Need help.

    Thanks.

  • Nice Pensil.

  • @MisterNyaah Nice spelling. Pencil

  • if the optional fans on the side had dust filters this case were just perfect!

does any one know if it's possible to buy dust filters for 120mm fans?

  • idk which one this one or a HAF 922? does this fit a V8?

  • @rayamoy It does fit my V10, so a V8 should fit perfectly.

  • u always talk about motherboard tray, why would you want to remove the motherboard tray?

  • im ordering this case tomorrow.

  • lol what are you guys talking about??? this case is nothing compared to nzxt Phantom. :)

  • This or the HAF 922?

  • @Lazertag44

For me, it will be the HAF 922. This case is great for a lan parties, but a HD 6990 won't fit in there. You only have about 11" of space between the back and the HDD bay. And the 6990 is 12.5 " long. Too bad, I love a pc case with a handle. I also searched for the lan boy air, but that is too expensive imo

  • @Lazertag44 Actually, in your place I would get a HAF 912 Plus and buy a 200mm fan that goes at the top. You get something in between, you will have enough space for any video card if you take the top HDD Cage out (that's what I did), once you have the two 200mm the airflow is great, almost like the Haf 922 (The HAF 922 can have a 200mm fan at the side while the HAF 912 plus can have a 140mm). But if you're from America I think you can only get the Normal HAF 912 version, which I think sucks xD

  • @Lazertag44 this

  • @Lazertag44

    or CM enforcer? XD

  • @Lazertag44 was wondering at just the same quiestion, i chose scout :) its very good :P

  • @Lazertag44 I chose the HAF 922, Imo this case is ugly as shit Ive got a HAF 922 now it is massive but its built like a tank and is very good for cooling and very strong

  • @Lazertag44 The inside of the two cases are very similar. Storm Scout has better aesthetics than HAF 922 to me but HAF 922 might has a little more room so it can have a little better airflow. Storm scout also has a side-panel window and the convenient handle. I would choose Storm Scout because I care alot about looks lol.

  • @Lazertag44 I would choose the HAF 922 version.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lazertag44 no it is not the 922

  • @Lazertag44 definitively this .

  • @Lazertag44 no it isn't

  • @Lazertag44 The scout because it has the handle..

  • @Lazertag44 What did you get?

  • @TheFR3SHINATOR This is me (Lazertag44) on my new account. I ended up getting a HAF 932 and absolutely love it. :D

  • @Lazertag44 I'm getting the HAF X gaming case, it looks EPIC and it is in my price range!

  • Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus Midi Tower ON WAY YEAH!

  • Cable management on this case is a pain in the ass tbh. I'm currently building mine and I find that the power cables for ATX MOBO's have to go across some components in order for them to fit. Other than poor(ish) cable management. I love this case :)

  • no cable management holes though...

  • @acogscopepwn yes there is...but their quite small...i cant fit no cable for sure...or i could but pretty tight so im OK with the case its AWESOME and KEWL!

  • orderd my CM storm scout today can't wait and neither can by PC components LOL got a avange power hummer case which give it's due wasn't too bad for my first case :)

  • @thawillbill your mother will fit too!

  • would a Radeon HD 5770 fit?

  • @ThaWillBill Yes. It's less than 9" in length I believe, and the Storm Scout can fit cards 10.5" in length (although you have to account for PCI-E connectors). It'll fit.

  • dude, stop trying to talk as a tv newsguy just dont act your voice cuz tts hella annoying to hear !

  • Just got this case today. I tried installing a HD 6950 and it doesn't fit.

  • I bought this case about 5 months ago. Awesome case! Grab 1 or 2 120mm RED LED for the side and it looks awesome. The handle is good quality, not flimsy.

Pro tip: Take the front panel off and and take out the dust filter for the 140mm red fan. It makes the case look wayyyyy better, trust me. But ofcourse you wont have a filter.

  • i think that 10$ for two 120mm dust filters is a low price to pay for a happy dust free pc :D

  • @3DGAMEMAN can this case manage to fit a HIS 6870 video card, Noctua NH-D14 cpu cooler and an Asus Crosshair IV formula AM3 motherboard?

  • removable motherboard is his key words in every case review, haha

  • Will it fit two GTX 570's?

  • @Battleaxegunner My GTX 460 Fits... dont know if they are nearly same in lengh and if this comment will help you :P

  • I love it when Rodney makes these reviews and uses the pencil to show us what each thing is. Makes it look so professional.

  • @IgOrvElJo its cause he is professional XD

  • @acogscopepwn Exactly, Rodney must be professional at all times =p

  • Ain't all of your reviews only for "kick ass products"? Don't really get your grade system:S

  • @Hokrollo1 "100% kick ass" are the really good products, "kick ass" are the good ones but with some flaws to consider, and "great buy" are somehow good products but only worth it if you like them a lot because there are better value for money options out there. Cheers!

  • whats the max length for expansion in this case?

  • @acogscopepwn 11 inches, about 28 cm.

  • Case manufacturers, get this through your heads: HANDLES!!!!!

  • what is a removable motherboard tray good for?

  • @mirvid so you don't have to unplug the whole motherboard to work on it, you can remove it with the cables still intact and then add things like video cards, cpus, fans etc etc

  • @items419 okok thx

  • if i pulled off the bezzel, i would be like, oh shit, i broke it :P

  • There is Trying to Asian brides "busizz4me.info"

  • Definitely looking at getting this case. Such a good design.

  • I have to buy this the shop is out of Storm Snipers...

  • I have an antec 900 do you think it's worth it to buy and switch to a storm scout or wait to buy it with a whole new build?

  • i bought the scout and really loving it. this review was very helpful

  • You do know that the last expansion slot space (at 2:25) is not for "organizing cables"...right?!?!

Its a security feature for your high-end gaming mouse! The mouse (or other device) would have it's cord looped through that special slot so that nobody at a LAN party could steal your gear.

    Its not for "organizing cables".

  • @BigSlickSerpents ya it can also have the cables stuffed im more which is guess what cable ORGANIZING

  • it will fit a 6870?

  • @pdani72

    Obviously yes :)

  • @kk45727remake it will fit 6870 crossfire?

  • @pdani72 6870 fits perfectly :)

  • @MunkkiKahvit and GTX 580?

  • I LOVE YOUR REVIEWS!

  • I wish that the ventilations holes at the back had rubber grommets. :(

  • Hey i'm building a new computer and i'm just wondering if this case will fit 2 AMD 6870 in crossfire?

  • @zekuma Easily.

  • @zekuma

The manual says it'll fit cards up to 270mm (10.6in).

  • can you explain me how to add fans to this case using the control of leds?

  • Unfortunately the motherboard tray is not removable.

  • @nikenjaodenseikkailu I Know What You mean. He says it every Fuking Video :@ ! Yet I Stil HAve Not Seen A Case Wit a Removable Mobo Tray Grrrrrrrrrcakes :)

  • i dont understand why is this a kickass and the nzxt hades is just great???

the hades is 100 kickass for that price!!

  • @toilettboy12345 I've had this case for nearly a year now, i totally agree with u i'm updating my rig for Christmas and getting the Hades :D

  • does it fit a Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 ? fast reply please :)

  • @slappadik yes it does i have 2 of them crossfire in that case

  • @Triforcecwp thx ; )

  • @slappadik imdeedably

  • The motherboard tray is not removable? Man.... That is unfortunate...

  • cant decide which to get, scout or 690 II adv?

  • @yuna1987 i have exactly the same "problem" but i think i will go for the 690 II advanced.

better cable management with more holes, option for inlet fans at the bottom and better looks in my opinion. and i dont like red leds at all

  • @yuna1987 i cant decide either. what have u done ?

  • thxXD

  • over the years your monitors in the background have slowly upgraded lol

  • would this be ag good pc?

    CM Storm Scout

Chieftec Super Series 750W PSU ATX 12V

    Sony Optiarc DVD±RW burner

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition

    ASUS M4A87TD/USB3

    Kingston ValueR 4gb

    Hitachi Deskstar™ 7K1000.C 1TB

    HIS Radeon HD 5770

  • @The1997marcus it would be a kickass PC :D

  • @The1997marcus yeah thats basicly what my computer is and its awesome, altho i have a seoncd 5770, and i dont have usb 3 since my computer is alrdy a year old.

as for hard drive i would go with seagate or western digital. and make sure your ram is 1600

  • i love mine :))

  • ok they said it like it reset's the entire pc so it just restarts the pc XD

  • what is that?!?!?! o.O
