  • damn this is nice. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more time invested into these models and animation than I would ever dream of spending on mine. Liked the video.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HORRIBLE SONG!!! MUTE! MUTE! MUTE! AHHHHH....

  • pure awesomeness

  • Before I read the description, I thought it was actually real and this was some sort of commercial or something! VERY WELL DONE!! Fabulous!!

  • Supperb!

  • Almost too good, the tron cabinet in this video looks better than the real thing, and we are talking about one of the most beautiful cabinets ever created...

  • that's some sexy modelling, and good subject matter for us old ens :) background was a little dark to see the cabinet sharp but beautiful.

  • Unreal.

  • Was this showreel poetic or what? I love the lightcycle sequence towards the end.

This would make nice MAME game profile animations. That also means you need to make more ^_^ Extremely talented, Paul - I LOVE IT !

  • So .... which program was used to model and animate this sequence?

  • Excellent!!!!

  • can you do one for defender??? and tempest??? HAHA awesome work!!!

  • That was just beautiful! I can really appreciate the work that went in to making it. Thanks for sharing it!

  • I'd like to have that song playing while I play this game!

  • Wow very nice man, pretty amazing.

    The music fit it perfectly.

    Bravo :)

  • I'm still speechless!

  • Boy you know how to work with lighting! FANTASTIC!

  • Id stick my quarter in that any day man...mmmmmm

  • that was sexy lol

  • Thanks.

  • Bravo Peter, simply stunning.

That to me was pure porn. :-)

Thank you for sharing your work.

  • Very NICE!

  • I'm speechless.....

  • Absofuçkinglutely incredible. I got goosebumps watching it. Your attention to the finest detail is just mindblowing, also the glows, camera work, zooms and fades. That was worth the 10 months to create - well done!!

  • I never would have known it wasn't real. Awesome work!

  • Wow awesome job.. im currently restoring a tron. Great site also loved the interview and the tron resto pics

  • You know, the ironic thing is, those were my two favorite arcade games as a kid. What a coincidence. I actually bought that battlezone game for $300 in '99. The math box went south on it 3 days later, but for three days I got to show every kid in the neighborhood what a cool game it was as they abandoned their Playstations for this old beater. I left it in the house when I moved. :-( Anyway, everyone seen the new Tron 2 teaser trailer?? Looks intruiging.

  • Nice. Tron is cult.

  • I knew this video, it is amazing.

  • Absolutely awesome.. I'm speechless..

  • Coming from another pro 3G modeler/animator (and owner of a TRON arcade machine), I have to say...

BRAVO! Stunning job on the modeling. Excellent camera motion paths, and GREAT texturing. I have no idea where you found such mint images to texture map the model with. I love the way you ended it with a grid fly-over, reminiscent of the film.

  • No. MC Hammer never wore parachute pants (you may be thinking of the low crotch 'can't touch this' pants - NOT parachute). Parachute pants were early to mid 80s - completely gone by 1989, and definitely none in the 90s. The 90s featured jeans and flannel, grunge & alternative rock. Very early 90s had some pop-style hip hop, but quickly went the way of Pearl Jam, STP, Nirvana, etc. That was early 90s - the last innovative music. By late 90s it feel to rehashed blah we've had the last 10 yrs.

  • Peter, thanks for paying tribute to one of the grails of my home arcade (TRON). Great work!

  • I just restored a Tron and man it was trashed when I started and now it looks like this one.

  • holy sh!t. I just came.

  • Man, I wish my TRON looked that good!

  • Tip: On the coin-op, you can skip levels by switching it to Service Mode after starting a game. The Player 2 button will skip to the next level. Switch back to Normal mode before the game ends. The switch is located in the cabinet coin door frame).

  • Amazing animation! The Tron cabinet is like some kind of video game fantasy.

    Great choice of music.

  • great job and thx for memories, I played tron in '83-'84 and it was my favorite teenage arcade game here in Chile.

  • Simply beautiful - your animation is moving and great looking. Did you need to use a layered shader to create the highlights for the blacklight effect on the Tron cabinet?

  • My god...that was beautiful. The models and renders are immaculate, man. Nothing can top this. Kudos to you, man...kudos! :-D

  • Breathtaking. I especially love the flyby and lightcycle sequence at the end. Brings back memories. I used to just look at that cabinet as a kid when I didn't have quarters.

The only thing that could have topped it is maybe a Discs of Tron environmental.
