I have an old album from my family in which he features Dakota Staton. I really like Pawn Ticket, Easy and all the others on that OLD album. Good thing we keep things in the family...there are even a few 78s that still play! Mr. Shearing was one of the greatest Pianists that ever lived. I still say that some sightless people seem to have more musical vision than others. I've always noticed. Thanks.
I remember my dad telling me that he saw George Shearing & Peggy Lee on stage, sometime in the late Fifties ; He said "..at first she kept on talking and talking to the audience, until someone got up and yelled "SING !!! " ..And when she finally began to sing, you could have heard a pin drop! :) 5*****
One of the most outstanding musicians of our time, the great Sir George Shearing (1919-2011),,,
He surely sets an example of what human Power of Will can do !
