Yo diegoris23, if you {want|would like|wish|really want} to get better in basketball, you have to start {following|sticking with} #RANDSETa {real|actual|genuine|authentic|serious|proper|legit} # workout plan. I used the famous nba training routine here | 50 inch vertical [dot] com |. I haven t even told this to my college teammates yet heh
anybody else other than just diegoris23 tested out the nba training program for dunking and shooting? Even Kobe, Ray Allen and Gilbert Arenas have used it before. If you don t know what I m talking about, check out 50inch vertical[dot]com
These teams were better than any you see today. Look at the guys they were bringing off their benches -- Michael Cooper, Mychal Thompson (the 86-87 Celtics were pretty shallow, but they had a nice bench the year before w/Walton, Wedman, Sichting). McHale was the Celts 2nd best player and you had to double him on every play in the post. Worthy was unguardable off the dribble. And they weren't even in the lead parts because of Magic and Larry
If Magic had missed that hook in Game 4, Kareem would have tip-slammed it back in with :01 remaining instead of :02. He was by himself under the basket after Parish left him to challenge the hook shot.
Magic's hook shot (#1) was significant. It basically ended this series and established the Lakers as the dominant team of the 80's, over the Celtics. He misses that shot and the series is 2-2, and who knows how the rest of the 80's plays out.
I have to agree, the Celtics and Lakers were dead even with three championships a piece at that point. That little sky hook by Johnson was such a deciding factor.
I know nobody here agrees, but, though I can actually ENJOY 80's basketball because I know enough and have loved the game long enough; I still must admit it is way more 'appealing' to watch 90's and 2000's NBA games. I know those are tremendous classics but, the game is just not as elaborate and fast and aesthetic as today's, and I'm no coach so, I'm not watching JUST for the technical side of it...

619 since you remember the two victories in 85 and 87 i guess you forgot 84 when magic gave the series away. oh and dont forget 86 when the lakers would have gottent he beating of they're lives but chickened out to the rockets
Dead on. Scott and Worthy were both All Star caliber and Cooper was one of the best defenders in the league. The alley oop to Coop shows his athleticism ...

Lakers showtime 80's were unstoppable. They are so fun to watch.
Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parish are the true Big 3. KG, Allen, and Pierce cannot be called the Big 3.
