  • @hopelessiconoclast he probably just eats way more than you. I can easily hit 20 overhand pullups but then again I weigh only 125 :P alot of it has to do with genetics though.

  • @dorrystalkerkilla by studying for any certification (ISSA, ACE, NASM...etc), you will learn alot more than just surfing the web. Besides, going to school and learning from professionals is aways a better choice than going online and listening to some guy who has no merits of any kind trying to tell others about his "bro science" and how it works

  • Hey roughneckasian, the straight bar is supposed to be on top of the booomerang-shaped ones. You lose stability when you mount it like you have. Just my 2 cents.

    As for your routine - I have nothing to say , how can anyone say anything when you look like that as a result of THIS very routine ?? Its obviously working out for you.But I have 1 question - how does one determine what somato type he is ?

    Surely doing that many reps would start to create muscle atrophy or muscle loss? I thought you'd be doing really heavy sets for hypertrophy?

  • @stephenhalo22 you need a combination of both. Also, different somato types have different needs so you need to figure out what your type is and what works for you. If doing this much volume creates muslce loss, then why am I the size I am today when I have been training like this for many years. Also, I have put on this size without the use of performance enhancing drugs. Remember, there is not 1 size fits all training program because we are all different sizes and shapes

    2. I've seen the gay comments. It's just a typical reaction from guys who can't achieve your results. The logic is... if you can't reach someone's level, try knocking them down. Pretty sad.

  • Seems like alot of sets for biceps IMO. Personally if I do more than six sets for biceps in a week, they get over-trained!

  • @Phatfarm1980 That is fine, as long as you know what your body needs, then that is the main thing. Hell, you be amazed how much my volume my body can go through just to get a quality workout and make them move forward. As you fitness level goes up, so does the body’s ability to take on more stress. Now with a Professional status Natural Bodybuilding and being an elite 198 RAW lifter in power lifting, I have a good idea what works for me and hope this gives others ideas to break plateaus

  • @roughneckasian Oh right! I didnt realise that when your fitness levels increase you can add more volume to your workouts. I'll bare that in mind!

    Right regards to sets, the main thing I see with inexperienced bodybuilders in my gym, is them hitting biceps with over 16 sets, then they seem to wonder why they never grow!

  • Great training vid Tuan and I like the intensity and volume approach. I know that works.  I see you do all bis then all tris, but i usually alternate bis WITH tris.. Maybe I should try it your way and finish up the bis before moving on to the tris cause it seems to create a better pump, especially with those supersets. EXCELLENT biomechanics info too. It's always good to know that.

  • @tonybud2 yeah, been under the weather for a few days, but it will pass. Just a summer cold. But as for the air quality, it could be better

  • @dragonstorm83 No, the Iron Gym doesn't damage the wall. It has foam-like pads that makes sure it doesn't damage it.

  • @dragonstorm83 i have a similar bar and it does damage the frame on the side of the door where it touches but all you gotta do is put a folded sock or some kind of padding in between the pull up bar and the door frame

  • this is what i often do if i dont feel like going to the gym or dont have enough time, also i combine this with some close grip pushups and overhead tricep extensions, it works great
