This is how my family and I got our cat now. She was a house cat ( until previous owners kicked her out) she found us, we fed her. We eventually took her inside, she gave birth to 5 kittens and now, we have to cat proof the house.=/
How can you tell a calico from a tortie? Because they can sometimes look similar and all, my cat Kali looks almost like yours here, except my kitty's orange coloration is a bit more blended with the darker colors"?

You know, it's great that you have this wonderful relationship with a wild animal, but you should take her in the get spayed in a TNR program. You'll still get to keep her and enjoy her company but she won't be able to produce any more kittens. Kittens in the wild have a very high death rate and there already is an overpopulation of cats in the USA. Male cats who are neutered don't fight as much and therefore, live longer. You' d be doing them good.
Although I know this cat will be just fine, I would have personally had a large size box prepared for the cat to lay in and give birth, with some soft towels lining it for added comfort. I think any cat would feel better about being in a warm enclosure with you being right there with her. But I'm sure she was just fine though, as I'm sure you care as much for your cat as anyone would. This is just my observation as to what I would have done.
@KE4RWS: If I err not, he afterwards did get her a box and more - it just didn't get done until the first two kittens had come into the world the way the succeeding videoclips seem to show...
@LJBSasha Yeah, I'm sure any cat can give birth just fine without a box, towels or anything we provide them with. My original comment was merely a quick observation though. However, if there are any follow-up video's I didn't watch them. My observation relates only to THIS video.
But again, this looks like a great cat wit a caring person there to help where needed. Nothing to err here.

Luckily, my parents were sensible enough to realize that they had the brains and means to raise and support two children and make sure they grew up to be intelligent, contributing members of society. Why so mad about controlling invasive species that cause $17 billion in damages to native birds and small mammals every year? Grow up little girl. Leave the trolling to the pros.
Thinks makes me think about my Cat Leo. She was a stray that my family and I took care of for 3 years. She was pregnant twice and for both times she gave birth in the middle of the night. We couldn't find her to help her with the first one, but she gave birth in my neighbors shed. The second time she gave birth under my other neighbors shed lol. I wish she was still alive so I could give her a big hug, I respect her so much more now that I see what she must have gone through.
@Chthon128 I like that Simpsons episode where Bart was showing the birth of some kittens for show and tell. He said something like, we would have kept it but the mother ate it!
How unusual for the mother to actually be away from her next during birth... but if I was hungry enough XD... can't blame her. She must be a first time mother, because she seems pretty oblivious
@scottwesley1 That might upset her, he may have this cat's trust but she could still be moody and protective, and she may not want help. Feral cats are sometimes unpredictable
@GoCanadaVancouver10 It really is unknown why cats purr, I'm assuming that they purr when they have very strong feelings. I have also heard that cats purr when they are about to die.
How did it go from here - you should feel great that she trusted you so much to come to you and let you film her and be there. Please let us know what happened to her and her kittens.
She's not fully wild anymore, I do cat rescue (catrescue6) and you never ever get to pet a fully feral cat. Of course you can, but only after you tamed. Maybe you've tamed her. Seems that way. It can and often does make a difference, being there- I just had a five month old kitten give birth to 3 still born kittens. I had another miscarry and almost bleed to death. Cats are domesticated, & certainly do give birth in the wild all the time. However, these kind people were feeding & watering the pregnant cat, WHICH MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE. These kind folks allowed this cat to have kittens in a safe place, while it makes no difference to u, a difference was made.
@cassiethecat95, you cant control where a cat has her kittens, you cant move her when she goes into labour, especially a feral cat!! just think about it
You dont HAVE to spayed a cat after she's had her first litter it's up to the cat's owner if he/she want's to keep her unspayed and have more litter's he/she can...congratulations i notice there was a blanket in the background of part of the video you should have moved it right next to her so she could have got on it if she wanted to other wise great job and i hope mother and babies are doing well :)

i took in a oversized black cat when i was going to college, i fell in love with her and overtime she plumped up :) she was living with me at that point and i had a rat and my son started screaming one day about how she ate the rat and when i went over she was having what turned out to be 6 beautiful healthy happy kittens
