  • hehe I have to agree.. I went to a Chinese hair salon a few years ago by mistake, not realising that there is a difference.. they pampered me, gave me the dry wash, the rinse, the massage, the "ear clean".. and standard hair cut.. hehe.. all for the same price as a normal hair cut..

I was very happy with it.. though I was a bit confused during the experience. I live in Sydney, Australia. :)

  • I would say "xi3 tou2" which means "wash head." But "xi3 fa4/3" works, too. :-)

  • You did a GREAT JOB Chinesepod !!!!!!!!

  • wow shang hai reall has the upmarket hair salons, usually they wash you hair in a seat with a sink behind your head and you must then go to the barber chair to get it cut, Just like all the videos you have made it just sjows you that Shang hai is a liile diffrent from the rest of china.

  • Just want to say THANKS to the ChinesePod people for putting these out! My 6YO daughter is studying Mandarin, and she really floored her teacher after she was able to come in for class and say "Hey look, I got a 'jian tou fa'!" Thanks for making our study fun!!
