@davidbrucemusicvideo Thanks, man. Picked it up used in spotless condition for $2Gs. It's the only amp that I have (for almost a year i think), and I am a gear junkie, and yet every time I turn it on I can just play without touching the EQ, and still be in awe at the tones that come out.
Every other amp that I've had has had me on the EQ more than I am actually playing (boogie MKV, Road King, an express 5:25, JSX 212, JSX mini C, orange tiny terror, 6505+). There's just something about it, man
@davidbrucemusicvideo never tried a splawn but was sort of looking for one at the same time as this diezel. I would have gotten a splawn if one would have popped up that I could try out (or for a great price).
From what i have heard though, splawns dont really do justice at low volumes. This is an issue for me since I dont play out very much. I was suprised that the Einstein sounds as awesome as it does at whisper volumes. The nitro was really starting to tempt me before this amp, though.
@buckster7777 You might have gotten that from me. I sold it MINT for about $2000..it's funny how many times I played (but the right way you bastard) the part that starts at 4:30 Summer Song, on that amp. I also had a Mesa Trad 4x12 but took out the Garbage 30s and put in Scumbacks M75s. Why did I sell mine? Man, I played a CAA PT100 and the Einstein had to go. Enjoy it man..that thing is killer and built like a TANK.
OH SNAP! I didnt know that You got a Diezel! Sounds great! I just got a line 6 spider valve which i actually like i didnt think it would sound as good as it did. I almost got a roadking but didnt want to buy a bunch of pedals for it and i had no biz spending money for anything, lol.
@burnedoutgolfer Sweet, dude. MKI or MKII? The ability to program different patches with whatever you want is a money concept. You won't need your boss pedal anymore.
This diezel is the absolute bomb, dude. It's just the right amount of tight vs. sag for me. I like some mids in there too. It nails watch type tones (which I love), but has the diezel vibe going on. Unfortunately this demo sounds like crap compared to the original recording and of course it's even better in person.
@munchy040 Oh yea, dude...I just listened to the original file on my computer in realplayer then this one (to compare) and it is a lot less compressed sounding on the original.
Switching to 480p helps a little but it still sounds crappy compared to the oiginal recording.
It sounds much better in the original file and in person.
@munchy040 I had the gain set at 1:30 on the 1st channel. and the EQ flat except for the mids which were were at 1:30 too. Changing the EQ has a big effect on this amp too. You can make it do a lot of different things. El34s have a natural EQ mid hump too man and lack on the bass. When I run KT77s and KT88s in there, it is a totally different animal. A TON more bass is added and the EQ is more balanced with the KT type tubes. It is especially noticeable at higher volumes when the tubes kick in.
@buckster7777 sweet ! all in all from the demos iv heard all the diezels are pretty much based on the same sound but the different heads tend to lean towards slightly differnt sounds and styles of playing.
@buckster7777 yeah i know all about that kind of stuff you are talking about and i have seen the movie !
thats a really cool job no wonder you can afford all this great gear !
my self on the other hand i am currently of work with a perminent back injury dosnt look like il work full time again im only 26 lol . the reason i can afford this stuff is because for now im still getting a weekly wage and i sold alot of my old gear about 10k worth
Yea, what I am doing now is nothing like that; I am a navy rescue swimmer instructor. The instructor staff and I conduct ourselves like Gunnery Seargant Hartman on full metal jacket (without out the racism and excessive cursing of course). Its pretty fun, dude.
The US navy pays a pretty respectable salary, the trade off is that we have to leave our families for deployments though, you know? My wife has a decent job too which helps as well.
@munchy040 I've laid a bit of block on my time too, brother. I worked for a masonary company for a few years before the navy. We did all types of foundations (block, brick, footings, poured walls) and we did plenty of concrete work too. I hear you on that.
@buckster7777 so do i than i can buy more guitars lol :)
still leaning towards the les paul at the moment like i said i want something that is like a signature guitar for me !
or i was also thinking a gibson flying v with emgs and black hardware except for the tuning pegs i would have black tuning poles but with the old school tuning pegs
I thought you said no talking? just joshin' your taters

I got rid of my Mesa Triple Rec and use a Rivera Knucklehead 100, but would LOVE a Splawn head. Are you familiar with them?
