  • Det er nokk mest normalt å si "jeg heter (navn)"

  • I noticed that the Swedish and Norwegian are similar. is this true? maybe I'm wrong because I am French but when my cousinsfrom the city of Molmo, and those of Oslo talk to each other, they seem to understand very well. is it true that both languagesare the same?

  • man blir ikkje no ækte nordmann før du læra dæ no ækte nordnorsk! I don't think it's possible to make a teaching video about northern norwegian :P

  • which is more common for saying how are you?

    hvordan har du det

    or

    hvordan gar det

because i've heard both but am wondering which one to use...?

  • mitt navn

    hva?

    mitt navn

    hvem?

    mitt navn

    hvor?

    Mitt navn er

    slika slika Slim Shady

  • and there are native norwegian people

  • I couldn't concentrate, your voice...You sound beautiful... You single?

  • Are you Norwegian? :) I'm norwegian, and I think that this was a very good lesson for new beginners :) But one tip is; You should have said that Norway has three more letter then the english, (Æ, Ø, Å) :)

  • Siden er veldig hyggelig gi nytte for alle som ønsker å lære det norske språket

  • You speak too fast, therefore it is not really usefull.

  • Norwegian: 'jeg har det bra' = Scots: 'I'm braw'. Love noticing the similarities between Scots dialect and Norwegian! Think you gave us some pretty cool words :) Great vid btw!

  • Takk, Lise

  • thanks for the lesson appreciate it!

  • I got frustrated every time she did the direct translation...

  • Woah, some of my family are from norway (cousins and stuff) and i heard of one called Lise. Lise must be a common name

  • Takk

  • Jag tycker att norska är ett vackrare språk än svenska och danska..Och framförallt skit språket finska som ingen begriper. Det är ett skönt flyt i det norska språket.

  • My best friend is Norwegian and we can't communicate as well as we would like. He went out of his way to try to learn English, so I feel I should try to learn how to speak Norwegian but it is just impossible for me. Does anyone know any good resources that can help me learn this language? There are absolutely no Norwegian classes in my area...they have like over 9000 spanish courses and a couple 100 french and german, but no Norwegian.

  • @RonaldPak999 Well, you can buy an english-norwegian learning book online, but if I wasn't norwegian and wanted to learn norwegian, I would done the same thing as you - Youtube videos.

Go to Crienexzy 's profile. She has a lot of norwegian learning videos.

  • @Norica96 Thanks for the Crienexzy recommendation. I tried some of the books at the library, but they don't help with proper grammar, expressions, pronunciation, and rhythm of speech. I really wish they would have had a Norwegian language class in high school or college here, but most Americans are so ignorant of other cultures that they think that Norway is a city in Canada or something...

  • @RonaldPak999 Yeah, I know. I've met an American who thought Norway still were in the union with Sweden

  • @Norica96 That guy must have been really dumb, but I've actually met Americans and even Canadians who thought Norway and Sweden were the same country, and that Swedish people live in the Alps and yodel.

I live in Las Vegas and there a lot of Scandinavian people who come here for 2-3 months on vacation. The weird thing is that when I am hanging out with my best friend, a lot of Swedish tourists can tell he is Norwegian just by looking at him, and sometimes they say rude things to him. it's weird

  • @RonaldPak999 Yeah, Swedish ppl and Norwegian ppl don't like eachother. I don't like the Swedes.. It's like they're tryin' to be smart with no success. But's it's wierd, because I've met a lot of Swedes who has told me that they love norway and our language.. They like the norwegian language more than the Swedish.

If you search the norwegian version of "Can you feel the love tonight", it's a lot og Swedes commenting that the language is better than swedish.

  • I've a question ... I saw that for saw how 're you they say ''Hvoran gºAr det '' this is the same as you say ''hvordan har du det'' .

Good video I'm learning a lot

  • Am I the only one that chuckled at how six is pronounced?

  • @Maldar345 Chuckle chuckle it sounds like "sex"! Teehee I'm 12 and that's funny because it's a grown-up word, teehee! Grow up... There are numerous languages (German + others) in which 6 is pronounced similarly to "sex." Get over it.

  • @Maldar345 seks and sex is pronounced exactly the same way in norwegian. still no big deal :P

  • @thenorwegianteacher in swedish 6 = sex

  • @Maldar345 it's the same in german

  • I'm trying to figure out if it's a woman or a little girl giving this lesson.

  • Hei! Jeg er engelsk Hund :)

  • wow i am from germany and i have to say that i really have difficulties to speak the words like you do :D

  • Which language is harder to learn? Swedish od Norwegian?

  • @dekishaSERBIA if you're a native English speaker....Norwegian is the easiest language to learn because the word orders are almost exactly the same. I believe Swedish is a bit closer to German but I'm not positive. That's what I heard about Norwegian though.

  • @igi1390 Yes you pronounce it like "Deh". So how Are you Will be: "Hvordan har du det?"

  • lets try:Hallo Hund hvordan har du det??

  • how is Hvordan...is the h silent?

  • @legoman80116 It is indeed silent

  • @legoman80116 Im not sure but I guess it sounds like " Huurdan " like in Swedish and other languages similar to Norwegian. :)

  • @legoman80116 yes

  • @legoman80116 the h is silent. u say it like this vordan. quiet easy really :)

  • @thenorwegianteacher ok ok..i know...alot of ppl are replying this to me alr...by the way thanks guys :) and... teacher :D

  • lol...thenorwe gianteacher

  • You have the cutest voice I have ever heard!

  • Te amo nena!

  • Wow Norwegian is so hard to understand...

  • how adorable :3 but honestly how many people laughed when they noticed the sentence: "how have you it"

  • A comment to the uploader. "Hade" isn't the correct way of saying "bye". It's actually "Ha det", which means "have it". It comes from "ha det bra", which means "have it good".

  • Ace is that you?

  • I have a question about norwegian.. isnt it useless to learn bokmal or what this is, since no one really speaks it but a their own dialect?

    That always confused me.

  • @DangoAki Most Norwegians speak Bokmål. If you are going to learn Norwegian, you should learn it in Bokmål. Do not learn "New Norwegian" (Nynorsk). You'll get the most out of Bokmål. Take it from a Norwegian.

  • @idiot0534 No-one speaks bokmål. Bokmål is a written language. So is nynorsk. A Norwegians speaks a dialect of the Norwegian language. The Norwegian language includes hundreds of dialects, and two written languages.

  • @DangoAki Don`t worry about that. If you learn bokmål then you learn the Oslo dialect wich is the closest thing you get to bokmål. You learn how to speak and write Norwegian. Everybody in Norway understands bokmål, even the same people, and they use a complete different language from the rest of Norway.

  • @DangoAki

Bokmål is the "main" norwegian. Most people speak or understad bokmål, which makes it the dialect you want to learn first. Some dialects may be difficult to understand, though: The word Tono (only God knows what that is, BTW), sounded like the word porn.

  • Wow Norwegian is really really alike with Danish.. I know this aint supprising but swedish is really stranger

  • Im from Denmark and norwegian accent is so hilarious :D I cant have a conversaion cause i dont understand anything :( Pretty embassering for me since im danish :/

  • @nasiondevasion Lol no offence, but listening to a danish person speak is like listening to someone with a potato stuck in their throat. But in writing its pretty understandable. :)

  • I'm norwegian, if anyone have a question on some norwegian language issues, then just reply to me or send me a private message - I will reply in under 24 hours.

  • @Credative why dont u upload videos cmon

  • @alan7038 Because I'm not a teacher of any kind, and I have no clue how I should approach teaching another person a language. But I can answer questions, as then I will know what to respond.

  • This is a very nice introduction to Norwegian. Her English is good enough, and so is her Norwegian, for people just starting to learn Norwegian. It would be nice if she made more videos, but she's probably busy in college now. Other people have made more Norwegian lessons you can find in the Related Videos.

  • Thank you very much for helping me learn norwegian .. tusen takk :)

  • Hi, you're doing a great job but you need to speak slower so that we can her the exact pronunciation.

  • so søt

  • Please tell me you're older than 18 because your voice is way too hot!

  • @fdemey Lol.

  • ''Hva heter du'' translates into ''What calls you'', as in ''What are you called''. It is not ''What name you''.

  • Funny .I'm learning more norwegian in less than 3 minutes from what sounds like a 12 yr old girl, than I,ve learned in 1 yr with my 55 yr old teacher at the community college. WORD

  • I say: you gave me first step into Norwegian language.

  • @minde28383 Maybe you can go more deaper by my help?

  • @pivotair I will, takk.

  • En veldig søt klingende stemme ...

  • More videos please ! Hello from IBIZA

  • I German little me no englisch. ICH LEIBE DICH! Guten tag lol

  • I'm Hungarian, and I know Danish a very little, but I'm kinda guessing, that her Norwegian accent is not exact... am I right? No way Norwegian prononuce "fire" with such a strong "r".

  • @mysteriousDSF I'm norwegian, and i'm pretty sure this girl is too. the way she pronounce "fire" is perfect :)

  • @dearbunny2 Thank you! Well, I must admit, I was a stupid-ass. I know some Danish, and I didn't know anything about Norwegian, when I watched this movie for the first time. Thus this pronounciation was quite wierd to me. :D I'm really sorry for being a douchebag. Now I know Norwegian somewhat more, for I learn it for a week or something

  • @mysteriousDSF Well, I can see why you were mistaken, written Danish and written Norwegian (Bokmål) are very similar, but the pronounciation is totally different! But it's really cool that you're interested in the Scandinavian languages. I really wanted to learn Hungarian a little while ago, but it's a really hard language and I didn't really have any reason for doing it, other than I just love foreign languages. But, we'll see, maybe I will learn it sometime :P

  • @dearbunny2 I can offer you something :D I could help you learn some Hungarian, and you could help me learn some Norwegian or any other Nordic languages :D

  • @mysteriousDSF that sounds nice :)

  • @mysteriousDSF Danish and Norwegian is so different. I'm Danish and I learned a bit Norwegian :D

  • @Lasmikglenterne Danish and bokmål are almost the same except that what is "g" in Danish that's "k" in bokmål (jk, I'm exaggarating of course, but they're really-really similar!!) WHEN THEY'RE WRITTEN! Norwegian is much sharper. Danish is crazy soft. Danish is the most-difficult-to-pronounce language I know about.

  • @mysteriousDSF Well... I feel that French words are hard to pronounce! Danish is for me easy :D

  • @Lasmikglenterne what is your native tongue? I never learnt French, but once I sat down w girl learning French for 2 years that time to help her (it sounds funny but I'm considered to be a talent) and I seemed to much more clever than her. I guess it's because of common latin words. basically I never found French pronounciation hard, but to me Danish pronounciation is beyond every imagination... in Denmark I found that I thought I learnt something, than I heard it way different... weird

  • @mysteriousDSF I just say that for me French is harder for me to pronounce than Danish. But I'm Danish lol. But I really find it hard and sometimes I try to say the words but they tell me I say it wrong... Not to say: "Hehe French is a stupid language, because I can't pronounce the words!" I'm just saying that French is hard for me to pronounce. I find it's ok to learn French! I do NOT find it a crap language. But it's just hard for me

  • @Lasmikglenterne I didn't get you wrong :) and yes, I read back and saw u said u'r Danish, I was just confused, because there's Luxemburg on your profile. :D

  • @mysteriousDSF yeah. Living in Luxembourg but I am Danish.

  • @Lasmikglenterne oic.. so how Luxemburg's like? never been there. :)

  • @mysteriousDSF Right now it's cold... very cold... But Luxembourg is absolutely great d:

  • @Lasmikglenterne Funny you should say this. For me Danish is exponentially more difficult

to learn than Norwegian. The irony is they're very similiar...

  • Ein To Tri Fira Fem Seks Syv Åtta Ni Ti

  • such a cute voice *-*

  • How do you speak that well english and that bad norwegian (I'm norwegian so I know...)

  • @BenAdams98 Det er da ikke dårlig norsk? lol.

  • @iamyou600 Jeg fikk bare ikke med meg alt hun sa......Dumme koss : )

  • cool accent

  • Ja, sykt kompliserende med sju ord..

  • This really confused me.

  • i need help, i need someone who speaks norwegian to translate a name for meh please.

  • @ItsPERDITION I'll do that :)

  • @ItsPERDITION I do ^^

  • @ItsPERDITION send me a private message? Im form Nrorway : )

  • ItsPERDITION, would bee an OK translation for:

Silly sweed pickin one a little girl.

Meh, on the other hand menans exactly nothing, exept ofcourse

    ItsPERDITION reachin out!

  • @ItsPERDITION Since when did names (proper nouns) become translatable!?

  • @ItsPERDITION I can help you. What name?

  • @ItsPERDITION And the name is?

  • Låter ganska likt svenska på mpnga ord :D

  • i like how she and dog sound almost the same

  • Although it's archaic and rarely used nowadays, I want to mention that the English equivalent of "heter" is "hight".

  • I'm Dutch, and it sounds kinda similair. Takk!;)

  • @RKxSan That's because they're both Germanic languages. English and German (duh!) are too. That's why when I hear Dutch it sometimes sounds kind of like English. Certain Dutch accents do at least. Some Dutch words are pretty much the same or exactly the same as the English version like "over", "kwiek", "storm", "drink", "al", "knie", "yong", "tong", etc. You probably realized that already when you learned English though.

  • @RKxSan I forgot to mention "water" too. That's an obvious one :)

  • That was really Gd ;D

  • dam this language is kinda hard :)

  • can you say like swedish "hur mår du" in norway when you ask how are you?

  • @Nakhio kor d går xD

  • She almost sounds Swedish sometimes.

  • a lot of words sounds german

  • Your voice sounds sexy!

  • THis is one of the best I have heard. Good job.

  • THis is one of the best I have learned. Good job.

  • du er god i engelsk da!!!!! =D

    eg er ikkje så god

btw du kunne droppa verb og forløaringane ;)

  • man hører at du får vanskeligheter du er norsk!

  • HAHA? Verb er noe man gjør! Ikke et navn!

  • @LoveNorwegianMetal Du forstod ikke hva hun mente. Det er veldig enkelt og enforholdsvis riktig måte å forklare det på.

  • åh, du trenger ikke å si "de transelerer det som..et eller annet."

    Det er fullstendig unødvendig!!

  • Tusan takk! (Did I say that right? o.o) I'm trying to learn Norwegian. Your video helped a lot! :D

  • sju=shoe xDDD

  • Well done !!! :-)

  • nice voice, i bet its a hot girl talkin'.

  • this is great :D

  • Such a cute accent <3

  • Wich one of the norwegian dialects's this?

  • @josapology Bokmål.

  • hvorfor er det nesten bar unger som lager disse videonene = why is it mosly just kids who make this wideoes xD

  • I have it nice????????

    You need to learn English!

  • @tonelill that's how it would sound if you translated 100%... are you dumb? :)

  • Fucking idiot!! She's just translating literally to make comparative grammar and what are the words in English for each ones in Norwegian. Look that she informs the correlated and correct meaning above the sentence in red. The sentences with different colours are just references to what the morphemes would be separately.

You need to study more moron!

  • norwegian seems pretty cool o:

  • remember there are many Norwegian dialects

  • Hey, I will try to help any one learn to speak Norwegian. If you do not speak, and need help will I be Happy to do so. I am no Teacher, and only 16 years old. But i am Norwegian. So come on, just ask me. :)

  • love your voice. any recommendations for learning programs on Norwegian? Rosetta Stone doesn't have Norwegian. I am part Norwegian. I'd say like a quarter maybe. Thanks for your video/s Later.

  • Nowigen is a cool language :D

  • Nice voice :D

  • First when I heard you speaking Norwegian I was like "There's no way I can speak like that!!" but then I tried and it wasn't so difficult. :-D These words and sentences are pretty easy if you can speak swedish already. (--: Thanks, this helped me a lot!

And btw I love your voice! (--:

  • ich liebe diese sprache..

würd sie soo gern lernen :)

  • @SomeWhereIBelong3 Ja, ich lerne Deutsch und jetzt Norwegisch

  • Norwegian is such a beautiful language. Very good video, but I think for begninners in the language (which is what I think you were aiming at teaching) you should speak the Norwegian louder and slower.

Other then that, I have already learnt a couple of phrases from you in the space of under 3 minutes, so you're doing a good job :)

  • you have a really pretty voice, just speak a bit louder please :)

  • swedish, danish, norweigen.. its all the same... almost... :P
