I always heard it everywhere and it was really catchy, but I didn't know that the name of the group was Far East Movement. The first time I saw was the Like a G6 vid. It was less obvious because Dev was a big player. I started listening to them more because I totally loved G6 and I think it's so cool that they can get all of this recognition and air play being Asian-Americans. Not because they're like, a minority or whatever. But because I can relate to some of their lyrics in a different way.

and other asian-americans can relate as well. It's so weird being a korean-american for me because you got people sayin' you're a fob or you're white-washed. I find both names kinda derogatory. I wish that it would be easier to embrace being american AND asian in the asian-american community. I don't know, though. It might just be a problem found in my area in the OC.

I am probably considered "white-washed" by many Koreans, but it's like saying that I'm not proud of my heritage. I LOVE being Korean. I just can't speak it, and I was born here. I just could never pick up the Korean language that well. And my parents don't talk to me, so I never learned it. It's not like I don't want to be Korean. I do. I want to visit it later when I have the time.
