  • I mention that a Budgens sells Golden Pride because apparently they're only meant to be available in selected Waitrose stores. So I live in a lucky area with accessible selection of Fuller's more upmarket ales!

  • For my 21st I bought a load of these, went on a pilgrimage to a Fullers pub and a local Waitrose had a lot in stock. In fact a Budgens quite near me sells Golden Pride. But the best of all was when my dad won a 2007 vintage in 2009 and that kind goes on eBay for upwards of £30 sometimes, yet naively we drank it and good lord was it an incredible drink. My dad never drinks beer/is not at all tolerant of let alone partial to the beverage/is a wine connoisseur but even he had 2 admit its brilliance

  • wish I could afford to try these

  • This has to be the best ale I've ever tasted, a real sippin' beer

  • I organize monthly beer pairing dinners, and i've featured the 2008 vintage twice so far. I'll be doing aged beer dinner in February and may be tempted to open the 2000 vintage.

As an aside, telling people to buy 48 bottles is a presumptuous, maybe not if the expected audience is of JM's pay grade though. 4 cases of beer is rather a lot unless one is a serious collector or a beverage manager at a restaurant.
