Not all of the chemical stays in your lungs when you exhale but the longer you hold it the more of what you inhaled gets absorbed (Yes instantly when it makes contact with the lung tissue) and still never all of it. The only way for all of it to be absorbed into the body from smoking is if you inhale and die.
