  • It was a Goa Nizamuddin Express

  • really awesome ....video...

  • i think 2:26-2:50 is particularly gorgeous... & dragonflies at 4:49. :) i'd love to take a train thru the western ghats.

  • how much time does it take to cover this section?

  • what part of India is this ?

  • beautiful scenes

  • goin cho soro. my beautiful native place.

  • i can just imagine the train falling...

  • i got dizzy watching the height at which the train was moving.......wow superb video!!!!

  • nice video dude... banking allow to how much k.m in this route?

  • The Ghat Section is around 22km I think. All trains get bankers in this stretch :) You should see the loaded goods trains on this track though! They get 5 WDG4s(you might be knowing dis :P) and that is the most awesome thing in my opinion! :D

  • Do they get bankers while descending too? Which is the ascend / descend? Or is it that both ways there is a considerable ascend and descend? This is one the most beautiful videos. CastleRock station and the entire section must be a cool spot for all the rail fan action as well as nature lovers.

  • @bhushan80 Yes. bankers are used for both ascent and descent. From CastleRock towards Goa it's a downward slope. On downward slopes, the extra locos are used for braking purpose. So if there are a total of 5 locos, all will be on DB, to control the speed of the train. But while coming back, the combined power of all 5 locos is needed to pull/push loaded goods trains. And yeah, this is one of the most beautiful railfanning places in India. Planning to go there once. :)
