  • Can i use a plug from a different cord?

  • @AaronCoteTV haha yeah just a little

  • this helps if you want to shorten a cable... they sell them at 50 feet - who needs 50 ft of cable at home or their office?

  • @AaronCoteTV you can get 75ft for 15$

  • I was going to like this video, but you had 404 likes.

  • I just found very simple tool to fix broken RJ45 within few second like this.

  • I just found very simple tool to fix broken RJ45 within few second like this.I just found

  • ddd

  • Thank you!

  • u can get 100ft for $7 on amazon

  • CUBBLES FOR THE WIN!

  • is it ok if the wire order is different because on mine it shows that its different

  • I didn't know it was that easy to do that

  • they r called rj45s not heads... and its a lot easier to say white orange, orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown, brown. its easier to unwind the green pair first then put the blue pair in it and unwind that and then put the other two pairs on the correct sides. and a lil more blue is actually more important cuz u can pull the pairs out if u pull on the cable.

  • the fiber in the cable is a slitting cord to slit the insulation. If you are worried about knicking the conductors then cut about an inch or so of the insulation off, grab hold of the cord and pull, I usually expose 2 1/2-3 inches of conductor. As you organize the conductors hold them between your thumb and finger and that will help keep them together. When you go to cut your conductors usually about the length of your thumb nail, still holding them between your thumb and finger.

  • @bigbird8960 doing so will help keep your conductors in order. After doing a couple rj45's you should be able to put a end on in about a minute or so.

  • The hilarious thing about this video is that you can't watch it when your ethernet cable keeps falling out because the tab broke off. Hahahaha.

  • Man perfect timing I would say I just wanted to go out and buy one as my cable is falling off the router all the time but I thought hey let's look at my subscribtions first :D Thanks a lot !

  • well, this was actually helpful, as I have a couple of cables with broken tabs that keeps falling out of my router.

  • walrus

  • This is pretty easy :) but thanks for trying to explain it :D

  • whos the asshole that disliked this video

  • Man this would have been useful 3 years ago >_<

  • reminds me of electronics class last semester

  • Aw I thought I could see your face in that video. :( Show us where that epic vioce comes from.

  • @Korvan1993 /user/Biohunta2

  • @kdredom Doesnt exsist :(

  • oh my god

  • Favorited because I have like 6 to fix at home.

  • lol i have already done this in my school

  • I've had the same ethernet cable for about 2 years, it sounds like you get through 1 a week :)

  • Josh! You got 10 honours for this video! Well done! =D

  • Why did I click here?

  • I actually found this really entertaining. :D

  • Where can I get ethernet cable heads?

  • or buy a new cable for $1?

  • @Gavin12345678910 i bought a 100 ft cable and my dog chewed it... i dont want to spend another 40 bucks

  • @Gavin12345678910 ive got a 50m cable that i use itll cost well over $100

  • You can strip the casing off easily with a pair of scissors or a knife

  • This was honestly.. >_> enthralling for me. Ha-ha; its always handy to know! Thank you good sir!

  • Before installing a "head" install a "boot" it protects your connectors

  • can someone tell me some good halo channels?

  • @kelsoks ur in it

  • @viperhelion i know but i am looking for some more

  • @kelsoks SKHalogod

  • i have like 24097 ethernet cables at my house. i've always had them since i was a kid, and i dont know why they're there, but i have alot of them incase i ever need one.

  • My computor is on the first floor and im on the second floor, so my wifi isn't that great, so my first question is that how much faster is a wired connection compared to a wireless connection and also are there cables that are long enough to go from one floor to another?

  • @95drumhero same speed, but the connection would be much more consistent

  • @95drumhero you can connect a cable from one building to another if you want ! but make sure it does not go farther than 100 meters to avoid losing signal

  • @95drumhero. I had teh same problem. I made a hole in the sealing of the 1st going into the 2nd floor. Then disguised the cable using weird methods. Worked alright

  • @95drumhero Wired connections are much faster, but usually your more limited by your internet connection then your connection to your wireless router. Most cat 5 cables that you can get at places like walmart are like 50-100, but if you can make your own, or find someone that can do it for you, you can make a cat 5 cable any length up to about 390ft.

  • T568B FTW

  • wireless adapters ftw

  • I learnt this at highschool.

  • @BioHunta What is your Internet

  • Is this what you do/learn on your day job?

  • Head on, Apply directly to the forehead.

  • 1. where do you buy your cables at? 2. where you buy the cable heads at?

  • @ipotpl0x your best of using ebay you can get a bag of heads and lots of different color cable cat5 and 6 for really cheap prices

  • @ipotpl0x look for them. office depot, best buy. walmart. and if not then go to amazon or ebay.

  • Nice little tutorial :)

I've had to sit beside a friend of mine while he was doing a bunch of these in the past and it's quite tedious to do, haha. Well the getting the wires in the head correctly part, anyway.

  • I watched this just to see your face...

  • @misterStevePikk he has shown his face in some of his older videos =P

  • Knowing how to do something yourself is always better than paying someone to do it for you. Thanks Bio, I had no idea how to do this, or even that I might need to do this at any point, but you made it look very easy and if I or someone I know encounters ethernet cable problems, I will be sure to fix it personally. :)

  • do u know how to open nat types?

  • @AsKSniperMagician Copy your IP into a webbbrowser and change ur nat type in ur router/modem setup screen. Thumb it up so others can see.

  • @Fille3133 yeah uh....maybe give a bit more information? how do u change nat type? it already enabled

  • @AsKSniperMagician well change it to disable it might be a glitch or your ISP don't want you to change to open.

  • @AsKSniperMagician you probably have a wlan router?

  • @ulkord its just my internet spliting into many computers, its ok now i get around 3 bars but its still strict :(

  • @AsKSniperMagician is the splitting device hardware or software?

    or hardware with software?

  • @ulkord i think its hardware, its like a spltting device that splits into 3, a wireless adapter, my xbox, and my bro's computer.

  • @AsKSniperMagician is it strict for your xbox?

if yes then does your brother play call of duty on his pc ?

is his nat type open on pc?

  • @ulkord my whole family hates games >_< but anyway its ok now, its still strict but most of the time i get 3-4 bars :D

  • @AsKSniperMagician your brother hates games? :P

    strange

anyways if it works for you its ok

  • @AsKSniperMagician you can try setting you xbox to have a static IP. Then go into your router setup page (type 192.168.1.1 or similar into your browser) and enter your xbox's static IP into the DMZ field. Worked for me,

  • @AsKSniperMagician You've probably already found this out but all I did to Open my NAT type was turn my modem off and then back on. I went from moderate NAT to open NAT.

  • @AsKSniperMagician Turn your router off for 45 seconds and then turn it back on...

  • @AsKSniperMagician You'd have to go into your router's settings (There's usually an IP address or a website you go to and enter a username and password, which is usually "admin" and "password") and enable UPnP. Not all routers have this setting, and I've had this problem before. UPnP was on, and I was still getting Moderate. I just left it alone for a while and it worked.

  • @AsKSniperMagician

You have SO many replies. I feel so sorry for you.

  • @TheSgtJason i have no idea how my comment got thumbs up lol :D

  • @AsKSniperMagician you have to contact your Internet Service Provider

  • @AsKSniperMagician search my channel

  • Thanks, i have a couple of really long ethernet cables lying around that are twisted to a point they don't work anymore, near the connectors. So i'll probably try and fix them after watching this.

  • DiiZ iiZ WaT ii DiiD LAST WEEK iiN MY STRUCTURED CABLiiNG CLASS.... : ))

  • Regretfully, I had forgotten this from Computer Technology class, along with the Binary, mostly because I was a boring, ignorant prick back then. And also because I was lazy.

  • Thank you for posting this cause my ethernet cable is fucking up and I needed this bad thanks for posting this

  • wtfs a lan party?

  • @salford08 when u dont play video game by wifi, u play bye hooking them up to each other

  • @rexbonez2 so its kinda like a nerd party then? lol

  • @salford08 You probably never owned anything other than a 360 and/or PS3.

  • @AeolusMN ive owned multiple consoles ever since i was 2 years of age also pc's and laptops more recently. Oh and hand helds eg gameboy, game gear and all that kinda shit. What dies that have to do with anything though?

  • @salford08 Because before there was online lpay on consoles the only wy to play against other people is bring your own console, heck meven people with pc did ti and still do it.

Lan party is where everyone brings there own stuff and connect to eachother by system link.

So yeah seeing how you are such a big gamer i find it pretty surprising you never heard of Lan.

  • @AeolusMN Hey i never said i was a big gamer, im just saying ive owned alot of systems and have used them all my life just like most people today, but be honest, does it really suprise you that i have never heard of a lan party? I mean its obvious that the only way to play others without the net is via lan i was just unaware that people did that. The closest ive ever come to such a thing would be taking a controller to a friends house.

  • @0496jeroen wireless still uses those cables

  • Heh.. Your tool might be different.. Heh..

  • thx for this vid, i always wanted to learn how to fix cables :)

  • this was very useful and helpful. thanks josh

  • nice video tutorial man

  • Useful

  • I remember back in a high school cisco class I did this stuff, but I thought a straight through was ordered green/blue/orange/brown on both ends and for a cross-over cable one end was orange/blue/green/brown while the other was green/blue/orange/brown.

Maybe the green and oranges are interchangeable for a straight-through as long as it's the same on both ends? I'm 100% sure that some ends start with green. Weirddd

  • WHAT IS THIS!

This ISN'T a commentary of a popular FPS?

    What is this!

  • @jkboy106 You are an idiot. Colorblind doesn't mean you cant see colors (like cats), it means you see colors differently. Like, I see some shades of grey as pink, and some shades of blue as purple ETC.
