i want to get two of these, are they easy to care for and do you struggle with the humidity and tempature? i have to go to school during the day and i was going to get a zilla thermostat and a habba mist to take care of their heat and humidity during the day. Good idea?
@JennLonhon It's not the easiest to keep them, they're quite sensitive. If you really want one, I reccomend you to google it and read some webpages (I did this too before I bought them). If you have any question, feel free to ask ...
@esztom I already did some research, and although I'd love to have them, I live in a town where I couldn't provide them with everything they need so.... Maybe one day =)) Thank you anyway =)) You're very kind ^_^
@LadehemmungSaalepunk How do you know that I touch them often?? And how do you know that my hand is not wet??? Please read back the comments before you judge someone!!!
I think there are great sites on web, so if you look through some of them, you'll be ready ... but if you'll have any specific question, feel free to contact me (us) here.
@esztom I don't get why you have to pay more for babies for pets. Adults die quicker because they'll be too old, young ones are fun to let grow, so you can see your own pet growing during his lifetime :D besides young ones are usally ''cuter''
Good job man!! I see many ppl mishandling tree frogs. You are very gentle with them. I only hope you do wash your hands thoroughly and wet them with clean water before handling them. :p
It's a "noname" Chinese stuff ... originally it came with a "decorative" color lamp-mister (originally it's not straight for terrarium-use) - but it's perfect? because it is behind the terrarium's background and the fog came from the little holes of the background rock ...
Of course I do! It's very important, because the skin of these frogs are very sensitive! I clean the walls of the cage, pick up the dead crickets and soil every weekend.? Once in every 6 months I clean the whole cage. The plants are hydroculture ones - they are in pots so it's quite easy to remove them when it's necessary.
Be sure that their tank is in completely dark at night while they're hunting. Give them enough crickets, not just few, but many. Try different types of foods.
Cool, I have 4 of these guys, they're alot smaller than yours though. They're about 1.5 or 1.75 inches long, I've had 'em since they were like .75 or 1 inch long.

hey man im thinking about getting 2 of these a male and female could you give me some info on how to care for them , heating lighting and basic requierments and food / also how hard they are to care for
They are so beautiful! I love how their cute little feet move. When s/he was slowly moving onto the branch it took ages for it to take it's hind leg off your thumb, made me "LOL"
very nice video and beautiful frogs...I have a gold tree frog but myself cant handle him like you do your frogs he is very jumpy and not as calm as red eyes.
Yeah, I know that their skin is sensitive, but we always wash our hands with germ-killer soap before we touch them ... Generally I leave them to their natural sleep cycle too, but when I clean their vivarium sometimes I have to wake them up when they sleep on "wrong place". They seem to have got accustomed to that ...
you know they are absorbing all the germs on you hand through their skin when you touch them? i never touch them and leave them to their natural sleep cycle, which is night. when i record them i use the night vision. the light i have in the vivarium is a ultraviolet light as well so looks pretty good.
Agalychnis are not toys ! Stop touching them or they'll die.
Amphibiens breathe through the skin wich is very fragile, so if u need to manipulate ( and not to play ) you have to wet your hands.
All what you are doing is dangerous for them.

do you use any type of heatlamp?
bANKINGhO 2 years ago
I don't use heatlamp (these frogs can't bear the irradiated heat). I use Exo-Terra Heat Wave Rainforest and Exo Terra Heat Cable instead.
esztom 2 years ago
oh i see they dont require uvb light right?
bANKINGhO 2 years ago
They don't require high UVB, I use a Repti Glo 2.0 Compact Full Spectrum Terrarium Lamp.
