There is a GLBT Center in South Bend (Indiana) with monthly transgender support meetings. There used to be a transgender support group in NorthWest Indiana, but I don't know if it still meets.

You have to get out of the house and mix with humanity at large to find "real people". Some of those people you meet will turn out to be real, some won't really be "real" in the sense that they have some (maybe sinister) agendas of their own.

I have no Transgender Centers around here, and I am the only TG around here. On the Internet it is hard to find real People, I am on youtube for 5 Years now and I met a lot of Transpeople .Dating Sites for Transpeople is crap I agree and you can't meet any real people. .TS Roadmap i used to visit pretransition :)

Before I moved to California, a few support groups were being formed. I still remain in contact with friends I made prior to moving. Getting out in your community makes a big impact and difference. Knowing about your absolute self unlocks major keys. After a while, I found local people communicating more often with the real me.You will too!
Susan's Place is a lovely forum online, it's really well-moderated and it's really inclusive of all sorts of people (:
