  • Why is that only Toyota is being surrounded and criticized? I mean, the parts that is the main cause of this was made by a fuckin American manufacturing company, right? We have to consider which factory made the fuckin parts. Also who benefits by

lowering the Toyota's image? GOVERNMENT CAR COMPANTY GM or some other Korean cars or something.

  • Look up the Mahindra trucks, they are coming to the U.S. market this year, the pickup truck (actually called "Pik Up") is a compact truck yet has the payload of a 3/4 ton truck, can tow I believe up to 5K lbs, and runs on a 2.2L clean diesel. I woudln't buy one myself, but it should make the Japs nervous and GM and Ford should def be hitting the chalk board by now.

  • Hybrids are nice and all, but until their design and manufacturing complexity can come down costwise, they are not a viable long-term alternative to our current situation, Honda has attempted this by making a "cheaper" version of Toyota's HSD, the Honda IMA, which, in principle differs greatly from HSD but is a bit cheaper to manufacture therefore the Insight is a bit cheaper, as they have marketed it as "The Hybrid Everyone Can Drive" or something to that effect.

  • @gman2000 your a jackass, the 2010 prius is only 22,000, you could get a 2008-2009 for like 14,000-18,000...

  • sai = shit in hokkien

  • awesome

  • Want to wow me? Start selling Siennas here in the U.S. with Hybrid Synergy Drive systems or 2 liter turbo diesels... until then, these vehicles are a waste of money for ppl that want fuel efficiency AND roominess for their family. Apparently no one that works at Toyota R&D has a family, since all their Hybrids are cars (except Highlander but 27MPG is hardly a groundbreaking feat.)

  • Turbo Diesels will never work in the US it's been tried time and time again and fails. How many family's with 4 kids you know buy a car any ways? The cars are not directed to family's with lot's of kids. There directed to people that intend on driving them to and from work. Obviously some thing bigger is harder to move so you get less MPG. Also the highlander is about 8000 cheaper than the ford escape. Has more HP and has the same highway MPG. For the price it's the BEST Hybrid SUV hands down.

  • Another asshole on YouTube that tries to get the last word in (but don't let me stop you, you can make another dumb ass comment after reading this, go ahead). Apparently you don't know much about cars. Lookup MPG stats on the Escape hybrid and then lookup stats on the Highlander hybrid. Diesels will never work?? They work all around the world, why wouldnt they work here? Give me your intellectual reasoning, if there is any, thanks.

  • Yes Ive saw the stats I know because my mom owns a car lot. You think that they have never tried selling Turbo Diesels here? There reputation was destroyed from the past because they were noisy unreliable and just plain dirty. To be honest they should skip it all together. The volt will get 40 miles for free and thats more then most people do for driving to work. To go back to diesels is ignorant when there are way way better options.

  • Your nucking futs. Diesels rule, when was the last time you saw a Prius towing 5000 lbs? You'll never see it. The Escape Hybrid? NOT RECOMMENDED FOR TOWING. Been there, done that research. Yeah, ppl that were alive in the 70's to see GM go down in a ball of smoke trying to convert their gas engines to work on diesel, but have you actually stood next to a NEW Jetta TDI while idling? You can't even tell it's diesel. The Volt? You mean that "affordable" $40K car that will save the planet? C'mon.

  • Yea I'd agree on going with Diesels but the United States people do not want them and without a demand they will not be sold here. The Volt is expensive because it's the first major production of it's kind and being sold in the united states. If they can perfect the Volt and squeeze more miles out of it before going back to gas it will be the future. Also your talking about cars now. The MPG gap between the JEtta/prius is the same of the SUV's you were speaking of. But yes nice cars.

  • Isn't this basically the Toyota version of the just out Lexus HS250h?? other than some trim of the interior as well as front and rear end of the car is different??

  • im so getting this!

  • It is visible to be written, "This is HS250h of Japan" in the article on the foreign country. However,

HS250h sells it in Lexus in Japan. SAI sells it in Toyota. Both are sold.

This car is not a car of taking the place of Lexus.

  • it does not look very new neither does it look luxurious. I dont see any rappers want to drive this ''luxurious'' automobile. Its basicly a somewhat bigger Prius with the same boring look. Maybe one day they will make an exciting hybrid car.............

  • 4th :P

  • So I guess this means the Lexus Hs250h is just a lame rebadge.

  • Different marketing in different country thats all. I mean if North American weren't so shallow and superficial in the first place we don't even need Acura/Infiniti/Lexus... cause personally I have no problem of them being call Toyota/Nissan/Honda. I love them just as much.
