This is great! I'm actually training a half mustang right now too, and its funny how similar their bucking is. I started her the same way and got terrific results. Fun to ride and has the best ground manners out of all the horses. I love how patient you are and i'm sure you know how rewarding it is in the end. Have fun!
So this can be done without beating the hell out of a horse? Girlfriend just got a horse for me, just over a year old... my first. She has told me horror stories of having her own horses broken and how they are just worn out after being worked with, sore and beaten. Told her... I don't want anyone beating that horse.... I will recommend she watch some of your videos to see it really isn't necessary.
You're brilliant. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "trainers" say that the horse is just crazy or worthless, but you dismissed that sort of lazy assumption. I love how you acknowledge her instincts, and explain that every defensive movement is a natural response to her situation. After hearing her history, it confirms for me that the most difficult horses to train are the ones you have to RE-train. Seriously--eggs? I'm glad her owners found you!
You beat me to the punch and commented on my videos B/4 I placed a comment to you. I watched this one and then told my husband about it and he came over and watched it. While I was turning vids into WMV format Randall said, "Oh, when U get the chance go to that fellow's movie and tell him Thumbs Up from me." That was about midnight and now it is 6 a.m.--still working on his clips. As we watched he said, "He knows what he's talking about" and "This guy can ride" while Sassy was bucking" :-)
@MicheleWoody1 Thanks a lot for commenting and the thumbs up! You got some awesome videos of your husband. I really like the way he trains horses! He's obviously got a hell of a lota skill and experience! Means a lot hearing those sorta comments from someone like him! I'm going to post some more videos of her as soon as I get them edited together. If yall are ever near central Texas let me know!
@asparwhite86 U R welcome. It is nice to find others out there that do what Randall does. I like that your husband (?) said to Sassy's owner that he likes to go at the horse's pace. He mentioned that some bring him horses that are going to sale & want them ready for sale in very little time--can't work miracles. Horses are like children, all have their own personalities & abilities / some more athletic or faster learners than others. Some people have unrealistic expectations. Egging Sassy=mean!
@asparwhite86 Ran out of space in the box with my message last nite. Randall grinned when I told him U extended an invite if we are ever in central Texas. If you end up in our neck of the woods same goes here, let us know. We are in a small community called Long (Oklahoma)--Eastern OK, very near to Fort Smith, Arkansas. Again, on Sassy, it was mean of previous owner(s) to egg her. I don't understand some people!

A Penny girl is a girl that read a magazine called penny. And thinks she knows everything and is the best rider in the world. The critizise everything and every horse that bucks is "wrong handeled."
I see some "penny" girl comments comming up. "Poor horse. Uw ow." "You are bad rider.". But whatever they are going to say. You did a great job. Every horse bucks the first time under the saddle. And you were responsible and didnt put a bit in. So you couldnt realy harm the horse. Ps. Even the horses of Monty Roberts buck the first time under a saddle. But he uses a dummie.
Whatever you do! Please ignore "penny girl" comments.

@InvisibleBlues Thanks for your comment! Fixing problems is definitely a lot more work than starting on a horse from scratch.
