We were camped just above the bridge going up to Yankee Boy one Summer. After coming back from a day trip up Engineer's a afternoon thunderstorm washed out the approaches to the bridge. We watched the Counties equipment rebuild the road. I work construction so I had to ask "How bad are the rest of the roads?" He replied " I live here and I wouldn't drive my pickup where you do."
Just below our camp some locals set up a sluice box. Lots of new material.
@frankl1966 That was actually the road going up to Yankee Boy basin. The trail going up to Imogene Pass was back up the road about a quarter mile. If you were on Imogene the road would have been alot more trecherous. Cool video though.
Love Imogene. Many years it sports the best flowers of all the San Juan passes.
