Haha, so, out of bordom, I just found out that Sousuke is originally from Afghanistan, and not Helmajistan. Well, according to Wikipedia. Check it out! It was originally going to be aired in 2001, but due to 9-11, they changed it to Helmajistan and finally aired it in 2002. If you already knew this, great! If not, well, there you go! Just thought I would share it. Cause I certainly didn't know that! :)

Yeah, well it's odd since the novel which had the anime and manga made after said he was from Afganistan, while the anime said Helmajistan.

But Sousuke has such a sad past, though he is Japanese he ended up in war zones.

It has never been said Gauron is Sousuke's father, in fact its probably more likely that Gauron was the one responsible for the death of Sousukes parents. Kalinin found Sousuke in a plane wreck, the only survivor, he grew up in soviet training feilds during child hood and was sent out at like 7 or 8 to assasinate bedunctions tiger(cant spell it). He failed and he took him in(came his son like figure you know). Its how he and Kalinin became enemies.

Years later, Kalinin would meet Sousuke in Afghanistan. By then, Sousuke has changed from a cute little boy into a cold-hearted assassin named Kasim."
