@hohner2010 he was blind in both eyes: he lost his sight at sixteen in some form of farming accident- forcing him to use his skills as harpist to make a living!

Sonny and Brownie came to Ohio U. Every year the four years I was there 74-77 they palyed in Baker Center and the place would be packed. God what a treat. These guys played in logging camps with Woddy Guthrie, plucked and hollered into Alan Lomax's recording equipment in tents when he got sent down south by the Library Of Congress in the 30's Thank GOD we have this music.
