As governor, Saraj Palin raised taxes on oil companies and rebated that tax to the residents of Alaska. This resulted in every Alaskan getting $1200. A family of 4 gets $4800. Technically it isn't lower taxes but it sure helps a family out like it is.

I misspoke. What I meant to say was: I'd like to see some PROOF that Obama is losing. Gallup polls may not be proof since they are daily polls and since so many people don't participate in them. Also some networks like to use their own "polls" to mislead people into thinking that the supposed gap is wider than it really is etc. Really the kind of proof I am asking for is impossible and perhaps that's unfair. Ultimately, the point is that there's no reason for Obama to worry, absent such proof.

The AIDS comment had no truthful basis, that's why I didn't say that ALL his comments had a truthful basis. However, I can understand his distrust for the government, given things like the Tuskegee Syphilis experiment which DID happen. If the government can use blacks as guinea pigs in a way that kills, it wouldn't be surprising if they created a virus to wipe them out. I don't think they did that, but I can see why Wright might. As governor, Saraj Palin raised taxes on oil companies and rebated that tax to the residents of Alaska. This resulted in every Alaskan getting $1200. A family of 4 gets $4800. Technically it isn't lower taxes but it sure helps a family out like it is.

1. She is SO outside of Washington, she might as well be on another planet.

Her most recent effort has been to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to remove the polar bear from the endangered species list, putting Big Oil before sound science. As unbelievable as this may sound, this actually puts her to the right of the Bush administration.

Ya that's a good point. Everyone is focusing on denying the claim that Obama arranged for the "airdrop" but perhaps the better way to respond to this is by saying that an airdrop is justified given our total lack of knowledge regarding Palin's background. He should have sent 30,000 investigators instead of just 30. Still, that quote by John Fund is completely baseless. There are no sources confirming that that's what Obama did.

The attacks in question are verbal, and were allegedly made in speeches given by Obama. By the way, John Fund, who wrote that quote in the journal, never cited ANY reliable sources and no independent source has confirmed the claim. Also, can I please see some proof that Obama is dropping in "the polls"?

I misspoke. What I meant to say was: I'd like to see some PROOF that Obama is losing. Gallup polls may not be proof since they are daily polls and since so many people don't participate in them. Also some networks like to use their own "polls" to mislead people into thinking that the supposed gap is wider than it really is etc. Really the kind of proof I am asking for is impossible and perhaps that's unfair. Ultimately, the point is that there's no reason for Obama to worry, absent such proof.

Some of those are guilt by association like Luis Farrakhan. It is stretching the truth to call Farrakhan a "friend" of Obama, and some of them aren't that bad at all, like reverend Wright. I listened to his whole sermon, the controversial one, and he didn't say anything that indicates he has a poor character. He is right that America has a brutal history of racism and genocide. In fact, America is still a pretty racist nation. Instead, why don't you start by listing Obama policies you don't like

First of all, no one said that Wright is a great American. I just said that some of what he said in his sermon, even though it was too extreme, did have a truthful basis, so you can't say just based on that sermon that Wright has a deplorable character. Second of all, if you're going to decide whether or not someone is a great American, you should at least provide criteria. What are the necessary and sufficient conditions for being a "great American"? Please tell us.

The AIDS comment had no truthful basis, that's why I didn't say that ALL his comments had a truthful basis. However, I can understand his distrust for the government, given things like the Tuskegee Syphilis experiment which DID happen. If the government can use blacks as guinea pigs in a way that kills, it wouldn't be surprising if they created a virus to wipe them out. I don't think they did that, but I can see why Wright might. I don't think he's lying about that, I just think he's mistaken.

if Wright was trying to say that America has been under the influence of the KKK, then he's right. America was under the influence of the KKK, and since the KKK is still around, there is certainly some part of the US that is still under its influence. Did Wright ever say that the majority of people in America are racist? I know he said that racism was how this country was founded, and that racism is deeply ingrained in American culture. I'm not sure he ever said that the majority is racist.

Wright never said that the term "ameriKKKa" refers to all of America. Even though the KKK is a minority in this country, that doesn't mean they weren't very influential. They were. Democrats did start the KKK but you have to realize that the terms "democratic party" and "republican party" don't refer to the same groups with the same set of values today as they did 50 years ago. Obama doesn't have to answer for the crimes of some racists that were called "democrats" many years ago.
