lmao i think u are both wrong, ur getting all annoyed about the fact u have to grind a lilltle, bet u never made it bast 30, at 30+ u can start doing instances, fort siege, dungons etc plus the story line IS good. if u fine an mmo where u dnt have to grind 1 bit to lvl fully comment, otherwise u just fail

I rolled 8 different characters half asmo half Eylo , so my grind is crazy but my highest is only 26 so your right I haven't seen any of the instances. Then I got all my gear hacked. I got my stuff back but I'm waiting and not sure i'll sub again. All the vision stuff looks great but ya grinding for 8 characters only to get hacked has dampened my spirits. I missed all the awesome primary missions of Guild Wars though and haven't getten to anything like that in Aion so far

I was very excited about Aion. I heard of it 10 months before it was released. I couldn't wait. Now that it's released, I stopped playing it after 2 weeks. It's very boring. Everything is sooo linear, and it's a huge grind.

I totally agree. This game is visually stunning. The character movement, spells everything is done right. But then it's like a perfect place waiting for the actual game. It's like all the primary story missions are missing and so there is nothing to it just a big beautiful place with no soul. Nothing to pull you in. No purpose. Arenanet could fix this game otherwise sadly it's boring.

on aion's facebook page there is a guy who was in beta and couldn't run it game because he had a amd xp processor, apparently there is some s2ee functionality(I might have the term wrong here but I'm close) that isn't on the xp's(not windows but the xp processor from amd) p4's and newer amd's like the 64 x2 and such are fine according to that guy. That might get fixed before launch.

I just played the closed beta test and to be honest this game is amazingly beautiful. Can't wait for it to come out. My pc doesn't have the latest video or sound card and game ran smoothly. You will see some lag in the big city, obviously as this area is full of people. Pandemonium is gorgeous! Will most definitely leave WoW neglected once Aion comes out. Have mine reserved already. Have fun all! :D

If you're thinking of getting a new vid card for games don't get a Quadro card, they aren't for games you see. Better take a look at ATI HD4850, HD4870 or Nvidias x260, 280 cards. I have myself an ATI HD4850 512Mb and even if the card is very cheap I can run all my games on full settings, even Crysis and Age of Conan :)

The game is in closed beta for north america, and within the first 2 hours it released within Korea (Open beta) all 50 servers were full. Open beta starts summer of '09 for North America, met with a dev directly at Sakura-con. Hope we see the same effect from people in korea.

Aion is its own game, I wish the whole comparison thing would just stop and people would appreciate a game for what it is - In reality, this game really expresses its own sense of individuality that sets it apart from other MMOs entirely, thus why the call it "Revolutionary".

That I can agree with you on. I'm a current subscriber for WoW, and just in general I'm a little disappointed with how the developers seem to lack in making things a bit more appealing.

Imo, they're doing less than the modern minimum that games should be at graphical-wise. But then again, Aion is considered a "next-gen" MMO, thus why it looks a lot better.

But yeah, I kinda feel like I'm being cheated by paying 15 bucks for a game that could be done a lot better - ie Blizz is lazy.

Latest news I could find

Korea Beta already started which will be followed by a China/US beta.

Amazon listed the product for release April 30th 2009 and others listed release as first quarter

Considering Game development time April May time frame would be reasonable

Plenty of time for WOW fans to get bored with Lich King and everything else out there.

Oddly enough Aion could face competition from Star Trek Online, expected to release in May around the time of the new movie

Slight alteration: Korean open beta is over. The game went live in Korean on Nov. 25 without a wipe. China is expected to have a closed beta in a couple weeks followed by an open beta in January. Hopefully, their release will be as quick as it was in Korea.

After the the game releases in China, then US/EU is slated for preview events and release :).
