as far as my experience is concerned. tuna fish does not only weight 80kls, but morethen that. some have 100 kls up. im working part time there when i was primery years as a part time about year 1996 or 1997. the only thing that will be waisted is the blood of tune fish. everything has its own purpose...
hi there! we are visiting gensan on the 16th of this month...How do we get access to the fishport? Would they just let us in? Me and my friends would want to see the fishport and fishes....EXCITED for HOMECOMING!!!
@kikodong1981 --Sorry for the late reply. we went with a friend who had contacts, but that was 5 years ago and security was not as strict. Good. Luck. If Gensan was only 4 hour flight, we would go every year. Hope you had fun and thanks for your comment.
First of all, GenSan does not have the highest quality tuna in the Philippines, in fact it is the opposite. Davao has the best overall quality and GenSan has the largest landed volume in the Philippines. 80 kilos is NOT even close to the average size tuna landed in GenSan, its more like 40-50kg. Also there is no tuna landed in GenSan that is the same size as a great white shark, unless the great white shark was just born. They don't even catch great white sharks there.
gensan doesn't have the highest quality? are u sure? but how come the gensan fishport was the only fishport that has been accredited to European Union? are u sure 80 kilos is not even close? just come when on TUNA fest so that you can see the tuna that weighs over 100kilos! and we even dont catch great white sharks? because it is prohibited assshole!!!!
@jamskie1883 It is a fact they do not have the highest quality, its all handline product, davao quality is much better on average because it is mostly longline product. GenSan lands much higher volume than any other fishport in the phlippines thats for sure. they were accredited by the EU because of the canneries there so they could export canned tuna and other products. Actually, to export to the EU the individual company has to be accredited. The EU may "accredit" the management of the
@anthonykgrey anong they dont have the highest quality? gonggong maka export kaha ang gensan ug tuna kong low walai quality. heheheh paila jud ka nga taga davao ka. did you try to get in @ gensan fishport? try mo.... sarap pa naman ng durian ng davao....heheeh fish phhoooo
@jamskie1883 fishport. Yes, I know that 80kg is not close to average size landed. 80kg yellowfin are for sure landed there and even bigger than that, but 80kg as the average size is not correct you there yourself and watch the scales as they weight them and then place them on them on the long tables. I dont need to go to the tuna festival I go to the fish there a fair amount already. And yes you do not catch great white sharks there because they do not exist there. Maybe white tip reef sharks.
