I went to a Regina concert this winter that was terrible... so not personal, cus she was like 40 metres away and 7 metres below me... no contact with the audience at all :/ I wish I could go to a concert like this instead, the sing-along, the joking with the audience, the closeness, the warmth, this is Regina like she should be! I really wish I could have been at this particular concert cus it looks like it was a h*ll of an awesome concert!
it was funny the way they got pushed off. but that was completely idiotic how they decided to just jump on stage like that. regina could have had a heart attack or something
ok regina fans, its great that you know the words but lets leave the singing to her. its really not respektful to drown her out like that and we all paid to see the artist, not drunk fans belting it out and running around on stage.
i dont know, i always love when people sing along cause it shows they've listened to it a million times and love the song... it's never annoyed me at concerts. oh well, i can see wut you mean tho
hey, they're just such huge fans they couldn't hold in their love for Regina and really really really wanted to get up there on stage. Can ya blame em?
Oh my gosh, ok, I am very much a big fan of regina spektor, but I mean come one people it's not a rock concert or anything, so don't scare the poor girl and her fans please. She did a nice funny job covering up how shaken she was and al the other fans were very nice when she kept on going, being all supportive and such. I hope she's ok... Regina is the best!
Oh my gosh i was like right there. It was so totally super like scary. I thought they were like suicdide bomber terrorists or something!!!11 Thank the good lordy shes still able to live. Stupid fans, i mean jerks.
I heard it on good authority that when Regina got off stage she went straight to her security guard, looked visibly shaken and never came out to greet fans after the show.
So clearly she thought it was one big laugh that someone decided to jump on stage. Not.
Also think about the reactions, if Regina were to have smiled and laughed, so would everyone else. Its not as if most people really believe that the show was ruined, they just follow what Regina says.
She didn't come out to meet fans afterwards... According to someone who met her last night, she said she knew it was innocent, but she was still shaken up by it even after the show. I'm sure she has nothing against those guys, but it's just not a regular thing that happens and it freaked her out a little bit. So she didn't come out. That's all.
I tired of complaints about this show. Except for those Bozos jumping on stage, it was no different than other shows. And BTW, you need to check your facts... she DID greet fans afterwards. I WAS THERE!
I wasn't complaining about the show though. My only beef was with the guys who jumped on stage. I'm not saying that's all that bad either, but they shouldn't have done it. It's just not that kind of show. They're sorry for doing it though. So, it's all good.
Also, we were able to see more of Regina's personality, these boys made it a hell of a lot more personal. Whether it was what we wanted to see or not we all saw something a little more than a quick bow and wave.

Okay, lets be realistic.
Was Regina in real danger?
No.
All of this bullshit seems a little ridiculous. They were merely trying to show Regina a little love. Which actually is reassuring to see that she actually has REAL fans anymore. Considering the fact that most of the crowd didn't know half of the songs. I was overjoyed to see that there are a few fans that actually love her.
There's other ways to show her love other than jumping on stage. Buy her albums. Buy her merch. Go to her shows. Clap and cheer for her. Try waiting after the show to meet her and tell her how much you appreciate her. Don't jump on stage while she's in the middle of a song. Of course she has real fans, and many of them missed an opportunity to meet her that night because of those two.
I think the people screaming at the top of their lungs in this very girly high-pitched octave are equally annoying, especially when Regina states that she can't play anymore because she's afraid, it seems like some bad horror movie.
The Bozos who jumped on stage were clearly rude but Regina was merely startled like I'm sure we all have been when someone walks up that we don't see (they came up from behind the piano). No one was so rude as to "laugh at he sacredness". Although she says "scared", she was startled. Haven't you ever been a bit shook up when someone startles you?
I've read many negatives about this audience around the internet today. I checked some other recent performance vids on YouTube. Hmm, seems like other audiences are just as vocal. There was nothing unique about this audience. I was there and they were just showing appreciation. Regina even said at the show, "I need to come back to Cleveland". What the hell are porple missing here?

Hey, it was me and my friend who got on stage. honestly, we werent trying to be jackass's and stuff like, i didn't mean to scare her or anything. i'm just used to going to shows where when you get on stage the perfermors are like, happy about it and stuff and sing with you. sorry we seemed like jackass's and what not. I'm honestly sorry tho i didn't mean for her to get nervous and stuff
It was very immature and selfish of you. Use your heads next time and maybe look into what a regular concert is like for certain artists. Not every performer is going to enjoy that. This isn't a rock concert. And if you think about it.. you guys just come running up from behind that piano. She probably didn't see you till you were really close to her. Of course she's going to get nervous. Did you really think she would sit and sing Fidelity with you? Honestly?
Hindsight is 20/20. Maybe you should email her a note explaining/apologizing through her manager's email address. It might not ever get to her, but it's worth a shot, right?
Your obviously a fucking idiot, what kind of live shows do you go to? Yeah, maybe BillyBob's barband isn't going to mind you jumping onstage with them, but I've been to dozens of concerts and I can't think of a single one where the artists would allow or encourage that. I think she handled it well, she's a tough gal, but seriously....... that was a serious invasion of her personal space.
psh. A) sure it was... B) If it was you - WTF?!?!? WTH?!?!? While I love Love LOVE Regina Spektor, this is not a frikin rock concert, if you want to jump up on stage be a fan on 9 inch nails and go to one of there terribly crazy concerts.
wtf - why the hell does the crowd go to the gig, not to listen to Regina... singing loudly over her, laughing at her scaredness, how disconnected could a crowd be to a performer?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i hope that comment is a joke.. personally i think they sing to show their love for her and appreciation for her music, and they cheer/laugh to support her. i think it would have been scary if something like that happened and the crowd was completely silent. do you think the crowd would be more connected if they were completely silent for everything??
No joke. Definitely more connected if completely silent during the songs. Complete affinity with someone singing their heart out for you. Go mad at the end of tracks. She loves it. Listen to the CD's at home to sing along. Every night she changes it, so how can you join in without ruining it? ... you cannot hear it if you dont listen.
I thought the same thing. Just after she said she should come to Cleveland more often, some idiots have to go and possibly ruin it for the rest of us.
I love how she effortlessly, and in the kindest way possible, let's the crowd know, "ahem, there can only be one Regina..." 3:19 to 3:29
Who else can make a cuss word classy...?
