Idk if you use Rivatuner often but there is a plug-in in the hardware monitor that can monitor your GPU usage with. I had a AMD X4 9600 + 3870X2. In game, both of My GPU's where only at about 60-70% usage. I upgraded my CPU to a AMD X4 II 940 and my GPUs are now always at 98-100%. It's a great tool to see if your video card is bottle necked. Just thought i'd share. :]
you should manually adjust the fan to 40% and it wont budge over 65 and it's not really any louder than your stock cpu air cooler. and if your concerned that it will over heat dont worry even with manual settings if the card gets to hot it will spped up to about 80% for about five seconds wich will bring temps back down
Well in somecases its True that those 2 Fit nicely because of what they are built for ATI is for Rendering as Intel is for more Stress Related programs IM no fanboy I love ATI NVIDIA AND INTEL AND WILL ALWAYS BUY FROM THEM ^_^
@woodshuck ur right, ATI work better with AMD and intel and Nvidia work better together, it doesnt make that much of a diff but it does makes a difference
check my new videos... I get 42FPS average without AA and 35FPS average with 8xAA in gameplay (with core i7 920 @ 4GHz). I had my GPU bottlenecked to hell in this video...
i get about 27 fps with everything maxed except AA. i put AA at 4x. i use 2 geforce 8800gt in sli... just to show you that a $600 card barely outperforms 2 $130 cards. but i have my 9850 overclocked to 2.93ghz sooo.... idk
Check my channel for a new Crysis gameplay video... in this video I had my card bottlenecked to hell!!! I'm getting 35+ FPS now with 1680x1050, 8xAA and very high (with core i7 920 @ 3,76GHz).
it's only worth getting if you play at 1680x1050 and higher resolution. On example 1280x1024 you'l not get any big difference in performance compared to 4850.
Can someone answer me this question. is the AMD Phenom X4 9500 Quad-Core Processor any dif from the AMD Phenom 9850 X4 Quad-core, and would i be able to play Crysis on it with a ATI RADEON HD 3200 Graphics card or would i need a better graphics card?
Crysis will play with that graphics card, but smooth only on low settings i guess (not sure about that). Difference between 9500 phenom and 9850 Phenom is different clock frequency (GHz) and 9850 has unlocked multiplier.
I reccommend that you get AMDs Fusion Utillity and run it in the Expert profile! - I run it on my 9600BE @2.3ghz and 4870 512mb and I get a *very stable* 30fps while running @ max, 1440x900, 8x AA, 16x Af, DX9 On Vista x64 Home Premium!. - Believe me, you'll see a real difference!. Have Fun with it!, check out the fusion section in the AMD forums for updates on the utillity and to post any bugs (a team member is on there almost 24/7, so you will definately be heard!)
That is a damn shame, I am starting to think this game is a scam! A 4870 x2 should kill it! I think crysis relys to much on memory space and Cpu speed then it does on gpu power and memory speed. Trust me I got ballistix tracer dr400 and I can watch on the tracer lights how fast my memory is being accessed when playing this game and it runs about equal to ddr333 when playing.
And the reason I say that is because I am using a 3850 agp! With a 3.4ghz p4 oc 3.8ghz 2 gb ddr400 and I am getting similar FPS around 20. Except during heavy battle.
your pc is like my mum's vac . from your speakers i can't hear any voice. i got a crap pc (512mb ddr2 @ 295 mhz , ati radeon x550xtx, celeron d 336 processor @ 3.07 ghz overclocked, 80 gb hdd SATA2 7200 rpm)and i am playing crysis on low with med. shadows without shaders (because my Radeon haven't got a shader)with 25 fps !!! you , with your machine , can't play crysis on very high with at least 35 fps ?! that is to say "LoL!" hahahahaha !!!
That micro stutter improved not because of video cards alone but because of enhanced hdd random write/read speed and new speedy SSDs, all video games load in the pagefile and even when your playing, the game loads maps and new characters on the fly which also causes lags and large stutters, if your HDD isnt 10k 15k
or SLC SSD Your game is gonna suffer. Putting your OS on a DDR ram drive would eliminate large and micro stutter. It would make the pagefile and loaded games as fast as the ram itself
No, i don't have lags, FPS is very stable in all games (in crysis around 18-30 all time).
For temps you can check out my 4870 X2 unboxing and comparison video - 4870 X2 is around 50C hot on idle when fan is 100%, on load 56-57. When fan is automatic (25%) temps go to 85C some times on load.
yes it is, in video there is no difference but in real life you can see that picture goes more soft and better. (of course you must have good monitor to see it, with 19 inch monitor you can't see difference)
Sorry, but that is not quite the case. Antialiasing is a technique that was introduced in the first place to remove the jagged lines that appear on the ancient 640*480 and 800*600 screens, also 1024*768. With resolutions higher than 1280*1024 the difference is getting smaller and smaller, and the game you are playing is getting slower and slower. And, in my opinion, AA looks ugly at resolutions over 1400*1050. The image doesn't look sharp and clear.
I at least like mine. When talking about cons, well, I have one dead pixel near right LCD corner, but I'm sure it's transporting problem, not acer's problem.
dang man u must just have the stock cooler. u can make the fan go faster tho by goin into the bios and looking at the fan settings u can tell it to go max speed at all times.
It's not very noisy when on idle. When on load, my temp controller put all case fan's to 100% and it's going noisy, especially when I change GPU fan to 40% or 60%.
Okay thanks for information! I got only 20,165 FPS on 1680x1050... something is wrong with that card. Even CPU bottleneck can't be so big that I get 10 frames fewer than other people.

TedWinni 2 years ago
ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe supports basically all AM2 socket AMD CPUs (Athlons, Athlon X2's, Sempron's, Phenom X3's, Phenom X4 and non-AM3 socket Phenom 2's).

No, It can't support AM3 socket CPU's.

did you run great crysis in very high 1920x1200 AAX4?

Yes. There were no difference between those resolutions. 1680x1050 runs only like 0,5 FPS better than 1920x1200.

if you got a gamer's eye you can clearly see the microstudder, but the microstudder did improve over the 3870x2.

I mainly had 8xAA on in this video.
arvutihull 3 years ago
AA is not good for crysis, it will kill any card...
ish718 3 years ago
In benchmark I get only 2 FPS less with 16xQ enabled. For ATI's 4800 and nVidia's GTX 200 cards AA is not card killing ;)
arvutihull 3 years ago
There was one case where AA kills fps, at 2560x1600 with two HD4870x2s in quadfire :P
check out the anandtech review
ish718 3 years ago
Yeah, this resolution is like twice of 1080p :P
arvutihull 3 years ago
AA isn't really necessary as long as you play using your monitors native resolution
