@kingneddy "3. Abolition of all right of inheritance." I fail to understand how this has been implemented.
Secondly, how is fake counterfeit money socialist? I fail to see this.
The problems happening today are caused by banks "forcing" the governments to give away money to people who cannot use it properly. "Hey, we are going bankrupt, give us money." Why were they bankrupt in the first place? Because they failed as a business. Look at greece. Giving them more money made everything worse.
@TehRakblad inheritance tax, property tax, inflation force people who inherit to sell rather than keep the property in the family. Americans call it Federal & State estate Tax (1916); or reformed Probate Laws, and limited inheritance via arbitrary inheritance tax statutes
.5 Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.Americans call it the Federal Reserve which is a privately-owned credit/debt system.
@kingneddy all rights of inheritance still havent been abolished. You still have the right to inherit things. "Abolition of all right of inheritance" would mean that you wouldnt be allowed to inherit anything, hence the "all" part of it.
The centralization of credit is not in the hands of the state, as you pointed out yourself. The Federal Reserve is privately-owned, and therefore not owned by the state. In other words, the national bank is not in the hands of the state.
@TehRakblad you can think what you like. they dont tell you out in the open that you cant inherit. its an illusion just like the fake counterfeit money. they pretend you can have things then tax you until its gone. also, the fed reserve is the government.they print the money & have all politicians in their pocket. keep living your fairytale.. america is a socialist state and has been for a long time.they just pretend its capitalist so they can blame everything on capitalism.
@kingneddy you can think what you like. They dont tell you we are actually controlled by unicorns (cmon, why else all the propaganda that they dont exist?)
The fed "owns" all politicians, but that doesnt mean its communist/socialist. Its privately owned, and therefore not owned by the collective/workers.
A problem seems to be the fact that those historically who desire power and control are psychopaths – this personality type might always exist and might try to achieve what it wants again so how do we manage this is society how do we defend against this?
[10:36] "So, reality can't be manipulated but human beings can be. ..." Until human beings gain the total control of the matter through the science (like in Orwell) and use reality to control human beings. Since that time, language can be discarded as too weak tool to control human beings. Seems like the objective of state-run science is to research machines (with minds (AI) and weapons). That's why the natural sciences are kept on high stage by the state, as opposed to every other institution.

With knowledge comes responsibility - I have tried my damned best to wake up the people around me, they are so deeply brain washed that I call it "brain hacked". I honestly don't know how to wake my people up. I try and it only causes me to be ostracized.
@spystyle The truth requires such a scary realization that their entire belief system is based on lies. It is wrenching to face, so people resist and even fight to keep their "safe" faith. With many people it takes a VERY gentle guidance, just questions at first to stir up their own thinking. It can take enormous patience when people are so frightened. Use positive information about the advantages of freedom and the impossibility of progress through coercion and war and debt spending.
@mistara31415 I think that monopolies are not free-market, and regulations should exist which prevent any person or company from completely controlling any utility. But TV, radio, the internet, etc., are special in that they are the media through which information is disseminated or exchanged.
The FCC has totally de-regulated over the last 15 years -- and the mainstream media has only become more homogenous.
Read the remaining regs. Get back to me when you're done. Please hurry, I'm 59. Only a few decades left to live.
"mainstream media has only become more homogenous." So stop watching them, get your news from the internet. It has so much variety it's impossible to keep up.
FYI, the only monopoly in the US is the GOVERNMENT.
Vinny is slow. I wonder whether all the guests make him look better by stepping in when he can't come up with a question or a comment about what they've just said.
43:56 OK, here we have the deception, Steph says in regard to the STIMULUS: "Try telling the American people that the BANKS should have gotten more of their money." Well good golly Mr. Molly I thought the banks got a BAILOUT! Stimulus went to create jobs which were lost as a result of the Bank/financial sector caused crisis.
There is a difference people, between the bailout and the stimulus(s), a big difference. Why would Steph try to deceive us like that?
@jeffiek The bailout(s) and the stimuluses were very different things Einstein. Your cult leader is playing a shell game, you are idiots, homoerotic idiots... C'mon man- the bald head.... clearly a phallic symbol.
I have mixed feelings about this. Molyneux is always good value but Eastwood is something of a moron. Radio waves affecting sperm count? Molyneux has to struggle to get back onto sensible ground.
@cheesehoven Have to agree. Imagine a new user seeing this? Imagine linking this to a (young) friend that hasn't been introduced to the truths that steph is talking about? Imagine someone who is just starting to learn about the truths that freedomain tries to spread, seeing this as the 2nd or 3rd video of steph's? I feel putting this video up does more harm than good. Alex jones? It's nowhere near the first time that steph talks to a conspiracy theorist and has to answer them indirectly.
@cheesehoven Actually I've heard that recently from other sources as well.
Also, Wifi, cell-phones, and other devices operate in the micro-wave frequency band. There is a reason your microwave has protective shielding. I do know that a Dutch group published a paper in 2010 showing that wifi signals can damage or kill trees.
I think Stefan just hasn't researched some of the stuff Eastwood talks about, otherwise I think he would weigh in on it, even if he disagreed.
@WhatsReallyGoingOnUS The point isn't whether its true or not (it may well be true) but that it is irrelevant to what Stefan was talking about. And I just gave that as one example of Vinny's stupidity as an interviewer. Everything that came from his mouth was facile. Fortunately Stefan is a great thinker and speaker and rose above it.
To be yourself in a world that is continually trying to make you like everyone else is to fight the hardest battle you will ever fight, and keep on fighting.
@mistara31415 Actually, corporations are part of the free market, just not when they have political influence. Most corps don't get bail-outs and special tax breaks.
But honestly, I don't think the media will ever be pro free market because the media itself is dominated by 5 or 6 mega corporations which do their best to stymie all competition. When we have regulations to prevent this kind of media consolidation, then I can see a free market message percolating through. Just IMO.
@jeffiek I totally agree -- no govt, no corporation.
My claim was simply that one could have corporations, and still have a free market. I guess I don't understand what your objection is. Are you claiming that there can be no free market in the presence of a government? Is anarchy a pre-condition for free-markets?
Personally, I'd like to hear Stefan's opinion on this. I swear I've heard him talk about corporations as legitimate free-market entities.
Life is shades of grey, but the shade today is very, very dark. The greatest attempt to constrain gov't to defence and protection of rights to date is the US Constitution. It failed miserably.
No one can even know all the laws and reg's pertaining to business, there are just too many. It's not a free market, but people are doing their best.
That's nice and all that you see a "collapse" in belief in the government Stefan.. Maybe you have had too much exposure to the center of the liberty community or we must not frequent the same websites.. There are innumerable people young and old on digg.com and many other sites that are rabid fanboy's of Krugman and very statist ignorant policies.
@mistara31415 One most most banal example. Stefan says something in the line that better media acceptance of corporations is good for advancement of free markets. This is nonsense as very existence of corporations represents violation of ideal competition and thus free market, and on top of that is fact that best way for corporation to fulfill it’s fiduciary duty to shareholders is to maximize market share and externalize expenses, both of which is violation of free markets.
@ZoneofA "both of which is violation of free markets."
You're confusing free markets with perfect competition. The first is realistically attainable and the second is just theorycrafting.
Externalizing expenses only works if your customers don't resent it, and it's impossible to externalize expenses if there is no commons to despoil and a strong enough legal system to enforce property rights Also, every company that wants to profit tries to maximize market share, so it balances out.
@HeyItzMeDawg Benefits ascribed to free marked are derived from competition mechanisms, if competition is impossible why should we support free market as it cannot achieve it's advertised benefits? And what makes it free if there is no real competition?
Also it is self contradiction to talk bout property and stateless society, property is legal construct created by threat of force provided by state, without state there is no property other then one can defend by his own powers.
@ZoneofA "And what makes it free if there is no real competition?"
Freedom from all arbitrary barriers to enter and exit is what makes a market free, and that is also what makes competition possible. Just because a company wants to externalize it's expenses and capture market share, does not mean it will be successful, due to the existence of or threat of competition.
"without state there is no property other then one can defend by his own powers."
@HeyItzMeDawg Is there a threat of competition to natural monopoly? IIRC what I was thought in my 101 micro-economy natural monopolies are natural exactly because they are they are naturally immune to competition.
As of paying other for protection what is to prevent those that you pay from turning against you and taking you money and property for themselves, as that seems most rational economic move from them.
@ZoneofA You're assuming of course that the economy is static and unchanging and always at equilibrium, which is a typical assumption of econ 101 classes. In reality the market is constantly changing and never at equilibrium.
A natural monopoly is one that exists in spite of competition, typically for a limited time through some kind of temporary advantage, such as being first to market or being the most innovative. It cannot stay a monopoly unless it continues to be efficient.
@ZoneofA A monopoly that is immune to competition is certainly not natural and has yet to ever occur. This is as opposed to an arbitrary monopoly or oligarchy which is created through edict and which typically has the force of law backing it, whether it be through legislation establishing their right as the exclusive providers of the service or through a change in incentives which favors particular firms. Because there is no freedom of entry or exit there is no threat of competition.
@ZoneofA "What is to prevent those that you pay from turning against you [...] as that seems most rational economic move from them."
Rational? More like wasteful, unsustainable, and simply self-detonating. Why would you ever pay for a service where the company can't personally convince you that they couldn't possibly be able to stab you in the back one day?
This is where the "market is a discovery process" and "markets are perfection" theories diverge.
@HeyItzMeDawg Game theory would indicate that taking control of property directly by those that have power to do so is better for them then renting that power for only partial share of that property. Effort and risk is pretty much the same but payout is bigger. If you have a gun and I don’t have it and I want to rent you to protect my property for small share of that property you would have to shoot me and take all my property instead, that is the best way to maximize your return.
@ZoneofA Assuming, of course, that their time preferences are so short that they'd rather take $100 now then earn $1000s over a few years. And assuming, of course, that the benefits gained from stealing outweigh the costs of mounting a full-scale invasion. And assuming they're able to mobilize enough capital in secret to do so without attracting the ire of their would-be victims. And assuming... lots more that I can fit in one comment.
Who would buy the property you obtained if they know you'll just as likely blow them up than pay them? Who's going to trust you enough to sign up when everyone knows you're a charlatan who preys off of the vulnerable?
As soon as you introduce violence into the equation, the concept of profit and return disappears from the equation. You'll either kill the whole world or you get killed in return. It might work for the first door you kick in, but after that...
@ZoneofA ctd. And assuming, of course, that your victims "wouldn't have a gun", and that you have the resources to take on every last one of your clients. Know that criminals comprise a minute percentage of the population when crimes are limited to violent crimes with victims; you certainly won't need a whole lot of resources at your disposal if you're policing, so when you hike rates to start your dastardly plan, what do you do when competition steals your market share?
@ZoneofA The U.S. Government has spent almost $500 billion dollars to invade and occupy Afghanistan alone. Wars and invasions are not profitable and are only possible when a government can convince or force its citizens to pay so that it can extract trillions of dollars in taxes every year (and that's live, productive, happy, working people who haven't had everything they own confiscated by some rogue military powerhouse). It's simply not profitable.
@ZoneofA Also, note that the threat of competition is necessary and solely sufficient to keep a natural monopoly in check from any predatory or antagonistic behavior. And the threat of competition also keeps this same monopoly efficient and innovative, since they won't monopolize for long without them. The most important thing to realize is that the presence of existing competition itself does nothing if there is no threat of new potential competition.
Stefan, one "out" that you can give people nowadays is how heavy the yoke of government is today compared to in the 50s. You've talked about it before. Most people are just busy trying to make ends meet sometimes working two jobs. Both parents have to work just to pay off the government which makes raising kids impossible much less venturing out onto the internet to discover they're living in a dream world as slaves. Not everyone has this "out" though, and for them it will take pain.
Vinny seems to be too stupid to have any kind of discussion here. You can see multiple times Stef try to relate and respond when it is clear Vinny doesn't understand what stef is saying.
@mistermassive1 Yes but non of that changes the fact that those two dudes have no idea of what they are talking about, they are simultaneously so confused and so confident in themselves it is hilarious. I see they mean good but their understanding of politics and economy is so defective they just end up talking funny nonsense despite of good intentions.
@mistermassive1 Just because the USPS hides the true cost in the form of taxes and pensions doesn't mean that UPS is more expensive. Why don't you wake up and see the true cost of government programs? Don't you know that the government can't compete with free market, if they could they wouldn't need the guns and police!
@mistermassive1 The statist mail is far more expensive than UPS! Just imagine all the taxes you pay for the salaries of those who work at the postal office! And you must also pay for the service!
I saw a handful of people with signs near a post office saying something like "save the postal workers" or something. Not a single honk or wave while I was there. I think everyone realizes they are getting paid way too much for a job that UPS can do far better and far cheaper.
@alalelalex Yes, it is probably worth debating. On the face of what he said, it's getting dangerously close to advocation of slavery. Is someone obliged to help out just because they have the knowledge, to do so? I don't think so. (I'm sure most people would help if they can, but I don't think it could be regarded as a principle, since it may be argued that it conflicts with property rights).
@godseyeview sorry if I offended you, I honestly thought you were a troll. I didn't believe that you did not know the difference between the argument "something can't be both an elephant and a tiger at the same time" and the argument that "something can't be an animal and a mammal at the same time". If you are sincere then I don't know what to say other than, "I am sorry".
@5StepsToAnarchy There is nothing in logic that says something cant be a part of 2 sets at the same time. There are things called unions and joins. also what about the elephant tiger hybrid in the nwo genetics lab what about those? honestly you need to think for yourself.
@godseyeview the elephant tiger hybrid is an elephant tiger hybrid, it is not a tiger nor an elephant, you are obviously missing the point by a mile rofl
@dsturch The guy is from New Zealand. You can distinguish between an Australian accent and a Kiwi accent by the way Kiwis pronounce the letter e (much softer).
I read a book by Niccolo Machiavelli called, The Prince- The Classic Text on the Politics of Power, and after doing so it is clear these same amoral principles and tactics are still being employed by the governments of today. This book was written in the 14th century. So, does this demonstrate how obvious it is we as a race have not progressed morally in the least? I kind of think so....lol.
@safeinsuburbia But just empirically that is not true. If you've studied societies of the past you'd see just horrid treatment toward children, and everybody else for that matter. Compared to the past we are all angels of perfect virtue. I watched your video (very interesting), but you are invoking philosophical arguments in order to dismiss philosophy as a whole (which is a contradiction). Have an awesome xmas!
@safeinsuburbia But you contradict yourself again by appealing to a standard of truth. You can't logically argue against philosophy without contradicting yourself (key word "argue"). So you are just wrong. But that's okay. I still like you :)
I don't deny we live in a zoo controlled by the meanest ape with the biggest club, but you seem quite eager to keep it that way and stunt the natural evolution and progress of our species.
@safeinsuburbia Things are bad, sure enough, but in a sick kind of way, yes it is progress that politicians manipulate language to get people to accept violent solutions. The violence of the past is traumatizing to read about. If violence is your standard, then things are much better than 5000 years ago. This by the way is an argument you are making in order to say that argument is not a way to achieve change. (Another contradiction). May your holidays be great fun :)
@blapgatify "The violence of the past is traumatizing to read about. If violence is your standard, then things are much better than 5000 years ago. This by the way is an argument you are making in order to say that argument is not a way to achieve change."
I thought of Nock's essay "Isaiah's Job" during the last part of this discussion. Except, that in the age of the internet it is actually possible to know who the Remnant are. That's cool, and very encouraging.
He's right about how far libertarian acceptance has come. You could just about fit all the libertarians into a VW Bug back in the early 80s. And now, people don't automatically laugh off what you say, and many more are on "our side". The Ron Paul campaign shows this a great detail, except the fact that many of his suppoters really are somewhat ethnocentric (that attitude to so called "illegal" immigration.
@erdal0 Yes, along that line. He doesn't seem to realize that children are entirely ration human beings, and don't respond to reason. Some kids are better than others at understanding things, some just aren't. Maybe he should spend a few days with autistic children and see how well his child psychology works. I live it every day.
@hagbard72 I'm confused, are you saying you beat the autistic children or that you try to reason with them? Actually, as I re-read your comment I can't tell if you are beating "normal" children or trying to reason with them either.
I always found my children much easier to reason with than most of my employees. Maybe the answer is to start beating my employees ;)
@5StepsToAnarchy Seems like all of Stef's child psychology followers (cultists) think parents are beating their kids of they're using any form of discipline. The worst is a smack on the behind, which is what most parents do. I picture a crowd of seriously abused people as Stef's followers and they're all convinced that since they were beaten, parents shouldn't use a slap on the behind. Sure, the using reason works for some kids, not for many (most?).
@hagbard72 Most parents do not hit their children, even lightly, everywhere. I live in Sweden, and while most things suck here, and while parenting is still unnecessarily authoritarian, one good thing is that it is NOT socially acceptable to hit your children, even softly as a demonstration of authority. And all my experience and everything I've read about it suggests that even light spanking that doesn't hurt in any way has nothing but bad consequences and creates unruly children.
@jrgenkratz Again, try you're method with an autistic child. Just glad the govt keeps its nose out of this area of child rearing here in Canada. Yeah, the govt knows best, as do majority rule. Most people around here do approve of spankings, btw.
@baalshin I don't think of her as "mentally ill". People who have no first hand experience should keep their mouth's shut as they show their ignorance when they open it like Stef does regarding special needs children. A slap on the bottom of your own child who's out of control isn't abuse except to some statist bureaucrat wantbe who thinks his pet theories are more legitimate than actual experience. I suppose Stef would like a law? I wouldn't be surprised.
A "slap on the bottom" of an unwilling adult is called sexual assault. Still not sure why it's different when it's someone smaller and younger and weaker.
@hagbard72 i dont care how you think of her, Autism is a mental illness if you want to sugar coat it and call it condition or whatever its meaningless.
Bureaucrat? you either dont get the word or you havent paid attention to stephs videos lol, also your personal experience is fucking meaningless, ofcourse physical violence is effective to control a child, its not about effectiveness we are discussing, its about long term harm to your ill child, social services should take it away from you
@safeinsuburbia You made an assertion, not an argument. Without an argument, as far as we can tell, you heard something true and just asserted that it's 1) a principle and 2) the first principle. That you are confused about what a principle is, is forgivable. That you think that it's a first principle, beating "humans are animals" and everything else is so stupid I believe it's more likely you are just trolling than you actually believe that.
Stefan is not just FAMOUS but IN-FAMOUS - Wow! Wait a minute; I thought Infamous was someone who is wanted by the law? LOL (Poor and dry sense of humor - sorry!) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Peace.

I don't know. What do you think?

43:56 OK, here we have the deception, Steph says in regard to the STIMULUS: "Try telling the American people that the BANKS should have gotten more of their money." Well good golly Mr. Molly I thought the banks got a BAILOUT! Stimulus went to create jobs which were lost as a result of the Bank/financial sector caused crisis.
There is a difference people, between the bailout and the stimulus(s), a big difference. Why would Steph try to deceive us like that?

@cheesehoven Have to agree. Imagine a new user seeing this? Imagine linking this to a (young) friend that hasn't been introduced to the truths that steph is talking about? Imagine someone who is just starting to learn about the truths that freedomain tries to spread, seeing this as the 2nd or 3rd video of steph's? I feel putting this video up does more harm than good. Alex jones? It's nowhere near the first time that steph talks to a conspiracy theorist and has to answer them indirectly.
SlaveryEvolves 2 months ago
@cheesehoven Actually I've heard that recently from other sources as well.
Also, Wifi, cell-phones, and other devices operate in the micro-wave frequency band. There is a reason your microwave has protective shielding. I do know that a Dutch group published a paper in 2010 showing that wifi signals can damage or kill trees.
I think Stefan just hasn't researched some of the stuff Eastwood talks about, otherwise I think he would weigh in on it, even if he disagreed.

Just IMO.
WhatsReallyGoingOnUS 2 months ago
@WhatsReallyGoingOnUS "Actually, corporations are part of the free market"
Actually, corporations are a legal fiction created by the government. No gov't, no corporation. Period. End of sentence.
I see no reason that large businesses would not exist in a free market. They would just not enjoy the privilege granted to corporations by government.
jeffiek 2 months ago
@jeffiek I totally agree -- no govt, no corporation.
My claim was simply that one could have corporations, and still have a free market. I guess I don't understand what your objection is. Are you claiming that there can be no free market in the presence of a government? Is anarchy a pre-condition for free-markets?
Personally, I'd like to hear Stefan's opinion on this. I swear I've heard him talk about corporations as legitimate free-market entities.
WhatsReallyGoingOnUS 2 months ago
@WhatsReallyGoingOnUS "I swear .... free-market entities" You would be mistaken.
"no free market in the presence of a government"
Life is shades of grey, but the shade today is very, very dark. The greatest attempt to constrain gov't to defence and protection of rights to date is the US Constitution. It failed miserably.
No one can even know all the laws and reg's pertaining to business, there are just too many. It's not a free market, but people are doing their best.

ZoneofA 2 months ago
@ZoneofA "both of which is violation of free markets."
You're confusing free markets with perfect competition. The first is realistically attainable and the second is just theorycrafting.
Externalizing expenses only works if your customers don't resent it, and it's impossible to externalize expenses if there is no commons to despoil and a strong enough legal system to enforce property rights Also, every company that wants to profit tries to maximize market share, so it balances out.
HeyItzMeDawg 2 months ago
@HeyItzMeDawg Benefits ascribed to free marked are derived from competition mechanisms, if competition is impossible why should we support free market as it cannot achieve it's advertised benefits? And what makes it free if there is no real competition?
Also it is self contradiction to talk bout property and stateless society, property is legal construct created by threat of force provided by state, without state there is no property other then one can defend by his own powers.
ZoneofA 2 months ago
@ZoneofA "And what makes it free if there is no real competition?"
Freedom from all arbitrary barriers to enter and exit is what makes a market free, and that is also what makes competition possible. Just because a company wants to externalize it's expenses and capture market share, does not mean it will be successful, due to the existence of or threat of competition.
"without state there is no property other then one can defend by his own powers."
Or those he pays to do so.
HeyItzMeDawg 2 months ago
@HeyItzMeDawg Is there a threat of competition to natural monopoly? IIRC what I was thought in my 101 micro-economy natural monopolies are natural exactly because they are they are naturally immune to competition.
As of paying other for protection what is to prevent those that you pay from turning against you and taking you money and property for themselves, as that seems most rational economic move from them.
ZoneofA 2 months ago
@ZoneofA You're assuming of course that the economy is static and unchanging and always at equilibrium, which is a typical assumption of econ 101 classes. In reality the market is constantly changing and never at equilibrium.
A natural monopoly is one that exists in spite of competition, typically for a limited time through some kind of temporary advantage, such as being first to market or being the most innovative. It cannot stay a monopoly unless it continues to be efficient.
HeyItzMeDawg 2 months ago
@ZoneofA A monopoly that is immune to competition is certainly not natural and has yet to ever occur. This is as opposed to an arbitrary monopoly or oligarchy which is created through edict and which typically has the force of law backing it, whether it be through legislation establishing their right as the exclusive providers of the service or through a change in incentives which favors particular firms. Because there is no freedom of entry or exit there is no threat of competition.
HeyItzMeDawg 2 months ago
@ZoneofA "What is to prevent those that you pay from turning against you [...] as that seems most rational economic move from them."
Rational? More like wasteful, unsustainable, and simply self-detonating. Why would you ever pay for a service where the company can't personally convince you that they couldn't possibly be able to stab you in the back one day?
This is where the "market is a discovery process" and "markets are perfection" theories diverge.
HeyItzMeDawg 2 months ago
@HeyItzMeDawg Game theory would indicate that taking control of property directly by those that have power to do so is better for them then renting that power for only partial share of that property. Effort and risk is pretty much the same but payout is bigger. If you have a gun and I don’t have it and I want to rent you to protect my property for small share of that property you would have to shoot me and take all my property instead, that is the best way to maximize your return.
ZoneofA 2 months ago
@ZoneofA Assuming, of course, that their time preferences are so short that they'd rather take $100 now then earn $1000s over a few years. And assuming, of course, that the benefits gained from stealing outweigh the costs of mounting a full-scale invasion. And assuming they're able to mobilize enough capital in secret to do so without attracting the ire of their would-be victims. And assuming... lots more that I can fit in one comment.
HeyItzMeDawg 2 months ago
@ZoneofA ctd.
HeyItzMeDawg 2 months ago
@ZoneofA ctd. And assuming, of course, that your victims "wouldn't have a gun", and that you have the resources to take on every last one of your clients. Know that criminals comprise a minute percentage of the population when crimes are limited to violent crimes with victims; you certainly won't need a whole lot of resources at your disposal if you're policing, so when you hike rates to start your dastardly plan, what do you do when competition steals your market share?
HeyItzMeDawg 2 months ago
@ZoneofA The U.S. Government has spent almost $500 billion dollars to invade and occupy Afghanistan alone. Wars and invasions are not profitable and are only possible when a government can convince or force its citizens to pay so that it can extract trillions of dollars in taxes every year (and that's live, productive, happy, working people who haven't had everything they own confiscated by some rogue military powerhouse). It's simply not profitable.
HeyItzMeDawg 2 months ago
@ZoneofA Also, note that the threat of competition is necessary and solely sufficient to keep a natural monopoly in check from any predatory or antagonistic behavior. And the threat of competition also keeps this same monopoly efficient and innovative, since they won't monopolize for long without them. The most important thing to realize is that the presence of existing competition itself does nothing if there is no threat of new potential competition.
HeyItzMeDawg 2 months ago
Stefan, one "out" that you can give people nowadays is how heavy the yoke of government is today compared to in the 50s. You've talked about it before. Most people are just busy trying to make ends meet sometimes working two jobs. Both parents have to work just to pay off the government which makes raising kids impossible much less venturing out onto the internet to discover they're living in a dream world as slaves. Not everyone has this "out" though, and for them it will take pain.

@erdal0 Yes, along that line. He doesn't seem to realize that children are entirely ration human beings, and don't respond to reason. 5StepsToAnarchy 2 months ago
Sure, the using reason works for some kids, not for many (most?).
hagbard72 2 months ago
@hagbard72 Most parents do not hit their children, even lightly, everywhere. I live in Sweden, and while most things suck here, and while parenting is still unnecessarily authoritarian, one good thing is that it is NOT socially acceptable to hit your children, even softly as a demonstration of authority. And all my experience and everything I've read about it suggests that even light spanking that doesn't hurt in any way has nothing but bad consequences and creates unruly children.
jrgenkratz 2 months ago
@jrgenkratz Again, try you're method with an autistic child. Just glad the govt keeps its nose out of this area of child rearing here in Canada. Yeah, the govt knows best, as do majority rule. Most people around here do approve of spankings, btw.

@SlaveryEvolves "... I believe it's more likely you are just trolling than you actually believe that."
Thousands of years of arguing semantics and codifying logic and reason, but we still have the same brutes running the show.
Ever think philosophy is allowed to exist-and even promoted, to sideline the "useful idiots" ?

Stefan is not just FAMOUS but IN-FAMOUS - Wow! Wait a minute; I thought Infamous was someone who is wanted by the law? LOL (Poor and dry sense of humor - sorry!) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Peace.
