i am so glad people like you & your dad give people like me & my mom motivation, i remember me & my mom with our battle(s) i have still have tuff days with Anorexic but i made a promise with my mom, her end was to try & get help with her bi-ploar, its been a year& i feel better knowing i'm not the only one struggling.
I talked with this guy for a few weeks; he was delusional. The problem is...people couldn't be honest with him and they fed the delusion...and the media didn't do their homework before they put his name in print. You are right...he should have been medicated and had therapy..but we all have choices to make in this life.
Scott was a good friend. I spent a lot of time with him and he was a dedicated individual. A highly motivated person. I do not agree with how he took his own life. But that is something he chose to do. Bi-polar disorder is a serious disease to deal with. And I am sad to lose him as a friend.
I have bipolar spectrum disorder, and one of the symptoms is that you'll completely undermine or overshoot your abilities, I recently got fired from my job for telling my boss I can get something done in a short time.
@EmbraceDubstep That is why it is important to be on the medication to alleviate the mania-manic episodes. I really tried to tell Scott this...but he was stubborn.
@clev9980 That was really nice of you man. The thing is, because we always have a psychoactive mind, the idea of taking drugs that'll make us feel like zombies is terrifying.
I have bipolar. Many many people in my life stopped having any kind of relationship since they discovered I wans't like them, but many other people stayed near me and helped me. I think many times to committ suicide, but then I get up the day after and I am happy happy happy.. Too happy.. Yeah.. It's hard to explain this feeling to people that haven't lived or known people with bipolar. It's really hard. Thanks Pete for your speeches and for making this world better.. <3
Pete's message is inspiring and so true. When you have a mental disorder, you often feel life will never be joyful or hopeful again. But if you get good treatment and recover, you find yourself LOVING life more than ever afterward. It's because now you've seen both sides of life, the best and the worst, but this time you appreciate things so much more. What you kind of learn is... it's not really about what life is objectively, but how you view it, that determines how happy you are.
Guy like i have anxiety and it damaged my self confidence, highschool did not help either with all the fake people who are too cool to be real and just fuckin step on other people.. I'm doing real great now I just make sure I stay away from the fucks who try to put me down.
@Tzenjin Depends what you mean by "lost someone" to it, if you mean a family member then no, though I know people that've committed suicide.
How is you experiencing someone else commiting suicide giving you insight that I'm lacking on the mind of the one commiting suicide? They're dead to you as they're dead to me, all I'm saying is that's their right and noone has the right to call them cowards or stupid or anything else just because it makes them uncomfortable that people can choose to die.
I can relate to you on this Pete, I had serious Anorexia as well when I was a teenager, and it was mental illness that consumed me, and still is there in the back of my head to a degree, but since then ive recovered (to a degree I do have those feelings of anorexia sometimes) and competed in Powerlifting winning national and even a world title...thanks for posting this up it really hit home for me...
@waterfall32 It absolutely is a real issue, and should be treated with respect and understanding. People like you are the reason their lives are so heavily impacted and a stigma is present. Grow up!
great video man! NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is another great organization that provides support services for families & consumers. I met Scott through NAMI
Bi-polar sucks. I remember when my cousin had her first psychotic state, she went paranoid and thought the rest of our family was trying to spy on her and poison her water, it eventually led to her jumping on the road trying to get away from us.. This guy sounds like such a role model.
my mom has bipolar disorder an i felt that you really hit home with your opinion about it. i really appreciate you posting this and being open about your feelings <3
@CabezonGOW "Suicide is never the answer" Says who? We all die eventually, not everyone wants to spend every day leading up to that suffering when they can just end it sooner.
I say it. It's true that we are all going to die, but before that we must enjoy our lives the most. It's not okay to end that "suffering" (as you call it) because we only got one life. I don't suffer in my life, I'm pretty happy with what I got. Even if someone is suffering, there are many ways to solve a problem, but suicide is not one of them.
It's a psychological condition where sufferers experience extreme levels of manic happiness and hyperactivity at times but also long and deep depressive lows. Many people with this condition get in such a deep and persistent depressive state that they end up taking their own lives.
@pikachulikespie Stuff like this happens everyday so now you decide to give a damn just because someone brought it to your attention. So keep you comments to yourself.
@LeggoEggoNinja yes stuff like this happens every day you posted a stupid comment on a video about suicide no big deal but your treating suicide like its nuthing its a big deal i have had freinds taken away from me becuase of it, it affects familys and freinds so much rip scott bickel
