Very cool. Thanks 1-2-3-4 posting. Dee Dee did a few Johnny Thunders' songs , besides "Chinese Rocks" and "Born To Lose". He released "Chatterbox" as the flipside to "What About Me". I don't know if there's any clips up here , but I saw Dee Dee twice with The Chinese Dragons in the 90's , and both shows were great.

Originally DeeDee (Doug) was the singer and Joey (Jeff) was the drummer. When Joey proved to be the better singer he moved to the vocals and Tommy onto the drums. So vocals were not at all new to DeeDee and he wasn't at all bad at tehm.

johnny ramone was the greatest ramone because if it would have been up to them they would have only played fast and hard punk rock. joey wanted the pop element, and dee dee was just too high on dope to care. they are all great though, love the ramones for life, rip dee dee, johnny, and joey! dee dee wrote most of the songs and music though, so he was really the heart of the ramones in many ways!

I partly agree...it was actually Joey who had more of the pop tendencies. He was the one who really wanted Phil Spector to do End of The Century because he loved the early girl-group pop stuf Spector did in the 60's. And the fact that Dee Dee was high 90% of the time these guys made music just reaffirms my belief that drugs helped create some of the best music ever. Not that the drugs are a good thing.
