Dear Rachel, I've been following you on videos since you were 8. From the first time I heard/saw your videos, I've been awed, amazed, by your exceptional talent and love for music. As a 62 y/o Caucasian Texas cowboy, I've never been to Taiwan, but thank God for you, your beautiful homeland, and the wonderful people of Taiwan. You are a rare treasure to this earth, giving joy, hope, inspiration, to all who hear. This performance is incredible! How wonderful to watch you grow. Love from Texas.
Rachel, I haven't some words to say what I'm feeling after this marvellous interpretation. In spite of your young age, you heave up to first place among the greatest... Congratulations.
@chobeethaninov Agreed. I have actually listened to Argerich right after Rachel a few times just to test this. Rachel is a very advanced young pianist, and well on her way to becoming a true artist. But the flower has not yet reached full bloom. What is so wonderful about Rachel is that I can be perfectly content listening to her and forget all about the Argerich's et al. I think it's partly the *respect* I have for what Rachel accomplishes at her age that draws me, besides lovely music.
@crobc1 This is just my opinion, but I think that Argerich and Rachel do not compare because they are very different, and I undoubtedly prefer Rachel. Dinu Lipatti is the only interpreter I have heard that produces comparable stirring music, the purest music.
@amparocabal Thanks for pointing out a new name for me to learn about. But he passed a long time ago so there aren't likely to be many high quality audio recordings. I am also a fan of Aldo Ciccolini, who has taught me much about artistry. He can play with such sublime interpretation, that when I listen to the same pieces by other pianists, they often sound like midi machines. Not speaking of Rachel here--she is sublime too, in her own way!
@chobeethaninov I fully agree with you. I have followed Rachel's progress for about 4 years and am always impressed. I have said many times that she is very far beyond her age in perfection, (words to that effect anyway).
Extraordinary performance, beautiful and enjoyable. All characteristics of your playing are here again. You are artist, equally great as adult pianists. I can say only-congratulations!
Very lovely piano playing.

what about Sara Ott, some times Sara Ott sounds more mature but Rachel is practically as good or even better.

Your Grand Polonaise Brillant is the best I have heard.
More so than the performance during the credits at the
end of the Movie "The Pianist".
