FGM is not practiced in all of these cultures & actually increases the risks of getting an STD. The point is that these young girls, some of them 2 yrs of age have no choice. When males get circumcised as babies its not for a "tradition" it will benefit them later on in life. And for everyone who thinks all this is okay? The mutilation of little girls, is okay? Their scaring goes away they can do everything normally but girls cannot.After they undergo this ceremony they can no longer enjoy sex and it is often painful for them to have sex. Which is really horrible because the first time a woman has sex without being circumsised hurts anyone way because the hymen breaks.

@wishywashygirl19 If they knew it generated sexual harm the mother would not be so eager to circumcise her daughter. You are mistaking infribulation for less extreme forms of FGM. Female Infribulation is uncommon to say the least, male hemi-castration and castration is also uncommon.
Amputation scars for both MGM and FGM do not disappear. However for the male they are less noticeable during erection. This can help explain how you could make such an observational error.

You are in no position to know the feelings of an FGM victim. In cultures where it is common, the general sentiment regarding it is positive. A minority of FGM victims are upset, just as a minority of MGM victims are upset.

Just so you know, the picture at 1:15 is a male baby being circumcised. I am an intactivist, someone who fights for the rights of boys to stay intact, and we use that picture frequently to show people the pain involved. Because in the united states, less than 4% get any pain medication before a circumcision. I wonder if some of you will look at that picture a little differently now. Circumcision of any person, regardless of theirsex, is wrong and a violation of their human rights.

Circumcision does not affect sexual pleasure for male, that is only done to remove the skin which stores bacteria.
Closing a girls' genitals so for her not to feel pleasure when engaged in sexual activity-is a crime. These r two different practices.
