  • mondale would have made a great president

  • @TriggaTie18 very true

  • Liberals better cling to this debate because it's the one and only time they have footage of the great communicator looking confused and speechless. Ron Reagan jr. will throw this their way.

  • Mondale - "There's a difference between a quarterback and a cheerleader."

Brilliant idea to be insulting to women at a debate held by the League of Women voters.

  • @Roadstar1602 ...hey...girls have played high school football and there's the IWFL....and men can be cheerleaders just look at GWB, at Yale, and Reagan, for the basketball team, at Eureka College....

  • Democrats winning in government is like a monkey driving a car: no one knows how it got it, it cant use it properly, but try taking it away and they will fight to the end ! watch my vids

  • That was a horrible simile@1973mazdarx4coupe

  • reagan was the man

  • Walter Mondale was too smart and kind, that was his downfall.

  • Greatest President in the past Century! We need another Reagan. The World is coming to an end since Obama was elected by fraud. The day a non citizen became President, you know it's all over.

  • @youbestbequiet The day people like you reproduce, THAT'S when it's over.

  • @youbestbequiet you're nuts

  • @ohwhynot0192 That took almost all your brain power to come up with that? Get a life moron. Obama isn't sending you money so time to get a job putz.

  • @youbestbequiet -- you're still nuts.

  • @ohwhynot0192 You fail.

  • @youbestbequiet no...YOU fail....oh this is fun.

  • Still lying democrats after all these years !

  • I wish that today we could come back to a time of sound economic reasoning, and forget all the dumb Keynesian stuff..

  • @jimlap777 Um, Keynesian economics was the sound reasoning, its supply side that was the radical idea.

  • My fellow You Tuber's,

I would implore you to look, with great consideration, at the speeches of warning Reagan gave. Socialism, allows the government to tell you what to do, how to do, what doctor to go to, how much money you can make. These policies are being implemented in the form of liberalism.

  • at least reagan used the deficit for economic and military expansion.the dems made him waste money on bull.bush and obama just steal our money.

  • reagan won 49 outta 50 states uh thank you!

  • Billions has turned into Trillions.

  • Carter was a very decent man. The Hostage Crisis was his downfall and cost him the election in 1980. Imagine if the Hostages had gotten out alive. Does anyone really think Reagan would have won?

  • yes of course he would have if u lived during the 70's the election didnt hang on hostages. it was a country in total despair which was made worse by carter. try filling up your vehicle back then son

  • @kangaroosbraun

it depends. I think the fact that inflation was over 12 percent, unemployment almost 10 percent, interest rates near 18-20 percent range, high priced gas, gas lines, and a litany of economic issues probably has more to do with him losing than the hostage crisis.

The hostage crisis has been over blown by people trying to explain away carters defeat. Reagan won by to much, he would have won even if the hostages has been released, it would've been closer, but not a win

  • The 70s had seen one of the worst econmic times in US history! Regan would have still won!

  • @kangaroosbraun

He still would not have won re-election.

  • You can look at a chart of US debt since WW2. Our debt continually droped until Reagan,(voo doo economics) eventually under Clinton America again began to make progress. Then came bushs' disasterous reign of stupidity. O bama didnt have many options

  • Yeah, but the obvious option isnt to quadruple the deficit and the debt in 6 months tims, not to mention a health bill that will be the biggest entitlement program in history and cause massive amounts of borrowing that we simply cant sustain or pay back

  • Sometimes you gotta borrow money to make money. The hole we are in is deep. Private investment money is

absent.Health costs are rising really fast. The private middlemen ins. cos. are too expensive. We should and will go socialist. Thats the best of all. This system sucks the conservatives are wasting our time and money.

  • I'm going to do you a huge favor. I'm gonna buy you an inner tube and float you to Europe

  • tquilla Im not goin anywhere. I'm working for change. Everyday. I have hope. See? I believe socialism in Amerika will be a good thing. We will be more free. And we will have social services that WILL be top quality. And you and your family and friends will have a better life.

  • That has been tried. Do you know what Dirigo is? Its the socialized medicine program that was tried in Maine and Hawaii- not only did it fail, but put both states in SERIOUS economic upheaval. It offers the same promises that socialized medicine offers-and what a COMPLETE failure. How do you compare government run medicaid versus the private sector? Your methods have been tried-and resulted in catastrophe. Thats why Canadians come HERE 4 healthcare. They come here for a better quality of life!

  • BTW, I'm not responding to you anymore. One of my favorite quotes is from Thomas Jefferson, who said,

"When you argue with idiots, those outside might not be able to tell the difference."

And as everyone on this board knows, YOU are an idiot.

  • Truth is, your methods have been proved wrong. No matter. Americans woke up and we are going to pull this country to new highs.Your party of Grand Old Perverts is almost gone. Good riddance!Socialized medicine works well in many countries, and it will work well here.We will have it.

  • "Works well in other countries.."

Explain to me then, why the MEP of the NHS in Britian was on Fox News urging Americans not to pass this bill. He would know more about how socialized medicine works in England more than 10 of us put together. Also, explain to me why Canadians come here for healthcare and not the other way around. Explain to me why the cancer survival rate is 67% in US and its 42% in the UK. Explain to me why the Franch system is an atrocity. What is ur definition of works well?

  • Also, how do you explain that 2 states have already tried it and it was a complete failure-a social experiment that cost tax payers millions and didnt live up to the promises it set forth. What part of this already failed dont you get??

  • Yes,those countries systems work well. I through my work am in contact with many people from other countries. They ALL say the same thing. "love it". The only flaw we may have is as usual due to the conservatives causing it to be watered down. You should seek other sources for your info. Your being dumbed down by your source.

  • This is the problem I have with Liberals. Instead of giving me facts, they give me ideas. When I say that cancer survival rate is 42% in Europe and 67% in the US, they give me an opinion. And from what I am seeing with Canadians being on 9 month waiting lists, and coming here to get surgery-THEY all same thing- "Hate it." Did they forget that technology here is 10 years ahead of Europe because of competition? I dont care what opinion you have the technology here in US FAR supercedes Europe

  • Can anyone explain something to me?

At 1.57 Mondale says that getting the National debt down to 2% of GDP would be a good target.

Here in Britain, the Government used to say that getting spending down to 40% of GDP was right.

Unfortunately, it is going up to 60%.

Obamas spending stimulus may push the US national debt to 80% of GDP.

Am I missing something or have these percentages skyrocketed?

  • Obama is leading us to financial destruction, completely and utterly, in six months he's spearheaded the congress to spend more deficit margins than the entire 232 year history of the nation before his tenure had ever accumulated.

  • Maybe he's a secret fan of Andrew Jackson and wants to get rid of paper money?

Go back to not only the gold standard, but actual gold coins....

Truth is we're going to pay off the debt by selling Nebraska to china. Break out of the red and fight global hunger in one deal.

  • It WOULD be a good target - even better would be 0% - but government spending has gotten out of control. And politicians spend more to look like they are doing something (they must have something to ramble about when election years come up), and it just adds more to it. The GDPs of our nations are huge...our politicians just spend hugely as well. :-(

  • he's talking about deficit, not debt

  • Not missing a thing bro

  • The reason is,private money is not investing here. They make more in the far east. They robbed our banks are homes and our jobs and moved on. The GOP that used to rule here gave the corps welfare, and they betrayed us and left. Obamas spending should be looked at as investment, the only investment $ available. Hopefully, the investment will produce better jobs and new technology.,and we can grow ourselves out of this terrible but necessary debt.

  • Reagan's defense buildup in the '80's was an "INVESTMENT". It ended the cold war and allowed Mr. Clinton to enjoy the 90's because we thought that we would never have another propblem again after the Soviet Union fell. Then came 09/11, and Bush's whole presidency was about containing Islamic terrorism. I think he succeeded. Obama's platye may be full, but I just hope he is as good a cook as he is a talker, because in the end talk is cheap.

  • Right, investment in corruption. I would credit Gorby for ending cold war. Reagan was threatening to militarize outer space. Thank God Gorby was a good and decent man. Bush made a huge mess in the east. He created problems didnt solve anything.Like by the way reagans central America policy. We payed thugs to murder men women and children to submit to cheap labor. Now in Nicaragua,Daniel Ortega was elected. In El Salvador the FMLN party was elected to power. I also hope Obama does well

  • Listen Mister, there aint no Gorby without Reagan. And in Nicaragua, Ortega was ELECTED because of Reagan, he did not seize power in a coup this time. You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.

  • big joe- Had Putin rasther than Gorby been in power,We would be more than likely in a new more dangerous arms race. Nicaraguans have a right to revolution as did Amrerica. reagan broke the law in carrying out his policy per the Boland amendment. Not to mention the killing that took place.Ortegas election proved that the Nicaraguan people supported the revolution. Reagans was the MOST corrupt admin. in modern times!

  • Mr Red., Reagan did more to bring freedom to more people in the world then anyone else.............................i am glad he was president instead of you

  • Sure- Thousands of men women and children in El Salvador,Nicaragua,Guatamala were freed from their earthly bounds.

  • no you are not- Obama's spending is out of countrol, and this healthcare bill- lets pray it doesnt pass- will be the biggest expense this country has ever had

  • I'd like to ask Barbara Walters to stop asking the audience to stop applauding. It takes away from the alloted time of the candidates.

  • Gosh, Mondale was boring.

  • @geezernelson yeah he was.

  • bob beckel ran mondale's campaign.

  • You got that right Chukmaty

the one we have right now is the worst of the worst. Mondale is the main ring leader of the Communist Party his record as a U.S Senator speaks for itself.

  • Walter Mondale is such an ass clown

thank God he never became President.

  • He was worse than John Kerry.

  • Democrats are right, the market has been going up. What they dont realize is that it would have gone up by itself without a stimulus bill.

By the time the market recovers, we wont have even spent 10% of the stimulus money. That craptastic stimulus is saddling us with guaranteed higher taxes and inflation starting next year.

  • @Obscuros8 The democrats want to spend money and hope that any natural economic recovery can be attributed to their stimulus bills. The problem is..if this is true..then it shows that they must keep making another stimulus after stimulus. America is resilient. Our econonmy will survive. The only thing killing it is government intrusion and unfair regulation. Why isn't there any talk of regulating Fannie May and Freddie Mac?

  • @Obscuros8 Boy you were wrong.

  • Socialism?? LOL

Obama is pounding on the chest of our nation.

Check out the latest bank failure TODAY, i3lackman2.

Check out the stock mkt's reaction to it, TODAY.

  • stock market reaction? the market has been up. nice try

  • up? thats a joke right?

  • No. That's not a joke. The market is up after it's low.

  • attacking Republicans doesn't strengthen the democratic view at all. The latest spree of Democrats are all daydreamers who think that they can change America into a more socialistic system. This is not to say that all Democratic ideals are bad, I agree with them on many things. But they believe that the government can solve EVERYTHING and that has been proven wrong time and time again. Also included in this is Obama's latest economic stimulus bill.

  • dead idiot? Jimmy Carter is still alive

  • Can somebody tell me any actual QUALIFICATIONS that Barack Obama had that made him Presidential timber?

At least with Reagan, he was governor for eight years of the 7th largest economic power on the planet. He left California in a surplus financially.

How does Obama compare to that? He doesn't. He got elected for the Dems because he wasn't Hillary and by the nation because McCain tied himself to Bush with his 'fundamentals' remark.

  • Obama's qualifications of elected official experience stem longer than 8 years, thats 1. Not to mention his work in the community that superceded Regan's work for Hoover exposing communists in Hollywood. Second, I doubt your contention of his fiscal responsibility since he has raised the national budget to its highest rate ever during his tenure and second most throughout history.

  • Third, we can look at outside factors of Carter's Presidency such as gas prices which showed that inflation and unemployment raising comparitively was not a typical economic dillema for our country. What is most important is the GDP lowered 3 percent during the Reagan administration despite gas prices leveling off in 1984-85.

  • Finally, we can look at the gas, excise and windfall tax proposals turned down by the house and senate, but suddenly embraced during the Reagan administration. Finally, we can look towards The Carter Energy policy as proof that he recieved no backing from his own party, let alone Republicans in hopes to get even simple legislation accomplished.

  • You better go back and look at the 1980 debate where CARTER with an ALL-DEMOCRATIC Congress invoked the windfall profits tax - he even admitted it. And Carter was his party's leader. He was the last Prez with a filibuster-proof majority who could do what he wanted. But libs didn't like his conservative strain on economics.

So they lost the Senate and the White House.

  • "I see. So stuff that happens in the fourth year of a guy's Presidency is NOT his fault? I'll bet you don't look at it that way when the President is a Republican." Did you really just say that after bringing up 1980?

  • And no, I dont blame them after 4 years. I blame them after 8 when the double and triple the national deficit with absolutely nothing to show for it, rob social security for rich people's tax breaks and start wars without cause or and explanation as how to win.

  • I see. So stuff that happens in the fourth year of a guy's Presidency is NOT his fault? I'll bet you don't look at it that way when the President is a Republican.

  • Qualifications?

Check out article II section 1 of the U.S. Constitution. Any natural born citizen over the age of 35 who has lived in the USA for at

least 14 years is qualified to run. After that, you just have to convince the electorate.

"At least with Reagan, he was governor for eight years of the 7th largest economic power on the planet."

Have you read TEAM OF RIVALS? If not check out the introduction. The parallel between Lincoln and Obama is striking.

  • Why did we elect Raegan?

Jimmy Carter did a much better job of America in one term, than Raegan did in two. He was an actor, for god's sake! How could he know anything about politics?

This man restarted the Cold War! How come he was so popular???

  • You have no idea what you are talking about.

  • As a matter of fact I do. 1975: The US and USSR do a joint space mission.

Less than a decade later, Raegan is calling them our worst enemies.

I think we should thank Mikhail Gorbatchev for finally ending it, despite Raegan's attempts to restart it.

  • We do one thing with him (Under Nixon, who liked to reach out to communists) and suddenly everything is hunky dory? They were our worst enemies even in the best of times.

  • Wow.

"worst enemies even in the best of times"

It's as if you said they were our enemies even when they're our friends.

They were dangerous. They had nukes. And when the world finally thought we had escaped a nuclear war, guess who barges in and starts insulting the russkies? Raegan.

  • "...guess who barges in and starts insulting the russkies? Raegan."

    Reagan was awesome.

  • Hahahaha, that is the funniest thing I've heard. Yeah, let's discount someone based on the fact that they were an actor. What qualifies Obama then?

  • He ran against all odds, defeated Clinton and the powerful RNC. Raegan, a powerful incumbent, merely squished a fly by defeating Mondale.

And against Carter, he won only because the stupid rightwing media all said he kicked Carter's butt in the debate, when he didn't. Isn't it unfair that Carter was winning in the polls, yet because of all of this stupidity, Raegan won!

Well at least Raegan was a nice guy, but that still doesn't hide his crap policies.

  • Reagan beat Carter because inflation was at 18% and interest rates at 21%. I realize you probably think Bush is the worst President ever, but he couldn't tie Carter's shoes at being terrible.

Right-wing media? What are you smoking? Cronkite, Brinkley, Chancellor, Walters - all of them liberal. Other than George Will can you name an on TV conservative AT THAT TIME? Brit Hume was on ABC, but nobody knew his leanings in 1980.

  • I'm not saying that all media was rightwing.

I'm talking about the rightwing media in particular that shoveled bullcrap to make Raegan win (and by the way, by media I don't only mean TV). Plus, you know how it is with liberal media people. Liberals have such bad rap that they try to make it seem that they aren't by saying stuff they don't think.

And also, who cares about inflation when you've got the second most powerful nuclear nation pointing their missile launchers at you.

  • Reagan won because he was better than the other candidates and was the best President this country has ever had.

  • Easy to say, but, all the progress America had during Reagan years was thanks to Carter, Reagan was simply good at taking credit for stuff he didn't do (he is an actor after all).

I'm sorry, but unless somebody can give me some solid concrete proof that Reagan was a better LEADER (not campaigner, which I am definitely willing to believe he was better at) than Carter or Mondale, I'm not switching opinions.

  • All Reagan really had to do to look like a political genius after Carter was just undo some of Carter's policies. Now if only he'd gotten the Urban Reinvestment Act out of there...........

  • i agree with you...

It's kind of annoying how people always blame the previous president for economic problems that had begun many years before him.

Therefore, Carter was unpopular, and Raegan was popular by undoing his policies (ironically, the ones that put america back on track and made Raegan seem such a good president).

  • Amen................

  • What rightwing media?

  • And Obamas qualifications, he stapled signs to telephone poles.

  • Jimmy Carter did a better job in one term then Reagan did in two? You are either mentally ill, on drugs, or really stupid.

  • yea.. cuz unlike Carter.. Reagan didn't fuck us over in letting large companies step all over us and setting up a system that will take years to take down...

  • @husky528 you liked clinton better right? letting all our businesses go to china? i understand.

  • i dont recall mentioning clinton.. but then again Nixon's watergate scandel was pretty tight..

  • @husky528 Really now? Most dems are all about conspiracies and you honestly think that Nixon WASN'T set up?

  • it doesnt take a conspiracy to kno that he was a sneeky man.. and i suggest u dont get on the dems.. cuz im sure u kno the reps record.. even with our former commander in chief..

  • @husky528 Nixon's sheet was clean

  • seems reagan was having a bad day but he still kicked ass.

  • Are you kidding me? He was CRAP. Mondale seemed much more calm and competent

  • i wasnt clear but i was refering to the elections where mondale got his ass kicked big time...

  • Oh okay. Sorry then.

  • You wouldn't know competency if it bit you in the ass.

  • What a fantastically witty comment.

  • man that sawyer chick has aged big time!

  • How in the world did Reagan beat Mondale so badly? Reagan was a republican idiot. He either lied about balancing the budget, or didn't have a clue how to do it. You must raise taxes, and cut spending to do so. Reagan finally raised taxes 6 times and it took about 10-12 years for Clinton to balance the Reagan mess. It's going to take us probably 20 years to balance this budget thanks to Dumbya. But we need to start with Obama.

  • Mondale is boring me to tears and was hiding something...What was it? Oh yes...HE'S GOING TO RAISE TAXES!! Why is that the answer to all our financial problems for Dems.

  • unless you make over $250,000 a year you taxes aren't going to be raised, despite what you may think by John McCains misleading ads. And no I am not a bleeding heart liberal, I think both parties play a role in our financial problems. Clinton for pushing that unqualified people be given loans they can't pay back, and Reagan for implementing the deregulation of the industries that grant these people the loans

  • That's a blatant lie.

    1. Allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire is effectively a tax increase. The biggest in U.S. history, I might add.

    2. People making over 250k are 2/3 small business owners who will be forced to make cuts in wages and jobs when these increases are implemented.

    3. Increased Corporate tax rates will lead to outsourcing of jobs and increases in prices. Businesses do not pay for tax increases, customers do.

  • a blatant lie? what's your problem? you are completely wrong. First of all, defending any Bush economic policy reduces your credibility. That's the first point. Second, the republican policy of "trickle down" is completely ridiculous. All of the economic growth that occurs happens at the top, while normal people still struggle. Finally, I'll tell you what leads to people losing jobs. Businesses that don't have money to pay employees because they gave it all away due to ridicoulous deregulation

  • Pulling the Bush card? Original. You disproved none of my points. Eliminating tax cuts is a tax increase. The amount of taxes paid is going up; thus, it increases. See how easy?

All I see are DNC talking points with no substance. Businesses expanding creates jobs. Increased production costs have to offset someway (higher prices, cutting costs). It's supply and demand. Your last sentence makes absolutely no sense. Seriously, have you ever taken an economics class at all?

  • You obviously aren't the most intelligent person in the world, but I'm going to try to explain it to you anyway. Yes there will be a tax increase. It will be on people making over 250,00 a year. And there will be a tax cut for everyone else. Do YOU see how easy? Trickle down doesn't work. And yes my last sentence does make sense. Deregulation has caused credit markets to tighten and now they can't loan as much to businesses. Business can't afford payroll, therefore they lay off workers. Dumbass

  • And finally, you say I'm unoriginal for attacking Bush. What the fuck does that mean? Yeah i realize that everyone else is doing it...because he is one of the worst Presidents in American history.

  • Deregulation is not the problem. Giving bad loans out was going on before Reagan was president the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act reveals that. I understand why people want more regulation but we must believe in Free Markets. Corruption is in Socialistic and Communist states as well. It cannot be avoided.

  • When you raise taxes on 250K and up, small businesses will be affected. And then, you, me and everyone else will be affected, because those small businesses will pass that expense on to us. So everything we purchase will go up, and our income will go down. Many businesses will leave this country and go where it is more affordable. With all the new spending obama is going to do, he will have to raise taxes on the middle class, just like Bill Clinton did. Hold onto your bill folds!

  • Small business will not leave the country. If a company is big enough to pack up and leave, then they're probably not a "small" business.

If I have a job, then I don't mind paying taxes for important programs in society. But when people are losing jobs left and right, as they tend to do under republican rule, then it really doesn't matter what taxes are because they don't have income to begin with!

I run a small business, and in this economy, I can't make 250k, taxes aren't the issue.

  • No, small business won't leave the country, they will either close or pass their tax burden on to the consumer, which means tax increase for the rich HURT the poor. Large businesses will leave. The constitution was written to help protect us from government being able to "target" a particular group. What right does the government have to say, " we don't think it's right that you have all that money, so we're going to take it from you." This is what the founding fathers were trying to prevent.

  • um...everyone prospered under Clinton so i don't understand that part of your argument at all..secondly, nearly all small business owners make under 250k per year so u r greatly exaggerating the effect that his tax increase will have.

  • There was prosperity under Clinton and even greater prosperity with Bush. Under Bush revenue went up 20% because of his tax Cuts. Unemployment was something like 4%. THEN the dems took control 2 years ago, gas prices soared & over time drained the economy. It doesn't matter that the majority of businesses are small, what matters is the percentage of small businesses that employ and make over 250K & that will have a negative impact on the economy. Dems caused this crisis we are in right now too

  • It's not just small busine that will be taxed up to 50%, it is ALL households that make over 250k. They will have less money to spend & that is going to trickle down to the poor & middle class. The government has no right to take money like that, it is against the constituion & if they go after the wealthy now, later on, they will go after the rest of us. No matter how much they take, it will never be enough. Power corrupts. They have no right to punish people for achieving the american dream.

  • so..Bush created prosperity and the Dems ruined it? we obviously disagree strongly. It is pointless to argue. We won't change eachother's minds so lets just leave it at that.

  • I find Reagan to be the much more interesting man, Mondale is not a Presidential figure at all. Also Reagan did much better then Carter but in terms of the economic growth then Clinton takes the prize as the most successful.

  • I was too young to remember this, but Mondale is much more interesting and honest than Reagan is.

  • if you were not around then how do you know how honest he was.

  • because spending went up and up and up under Reagan, contrary to the bullshit he's talking in this debate. But since American voters vote on sentimentality, people forget that the deficit was over $8 trillion by the time he left office. He never actually cut spending, and he did raise taxes, by the way.

  • dude, he was talking about slowing spending, never about reversing it. its about the rate at which it goes up, like he said, from 16% to 6%

  • It's called the historical record. As evidence, look at why (in part) George HW Bush lost in 92 - he raised taxes. He had no choice by then because the debt was so high. So Reagan was either lying or believed Laffer and the rest of the goon squad when he talked of convergence.

  • Anyone with a brain knows that the president can only sign bills into law with a majority vote in congress; but with a 2/3 majority vote, congress can override a presidential veto. Reagan was given an overwhelming majority of liberal democrats in congress to convince, whom sabotaged his efforts. Why would people elect a man for his beliefs and then elect a majority in congress to villify him and continue against the course he has chosen, expecting any results?

  • Mondale lost that election so fuckin badly it's not even funny. He only won two states which was Minnesote and Washington D.C... Reagan whooped his ass!..winning the rest of the states by a fucking slide.

  • Reagan tried to veto the budget 7 times, but the democrats just had to have their god damn massive government. And its Reagan's fault for the deficit. Give me a break.

  • reagan was brilliant. all liberal dems will do is tax and tax and tax. when will people learn the gov't cannot solve your problems. almost everything that goes into gov't comes out worse than before. there are a million things i could go on and say about gov't interference, beauracracy weighed down by programs that once created, never die, etc.

  • I think we should do away with taxes! So that our society can fall into disrepair!!! No military! No Roads! No Social Security! Anarchy!!

  • the more things change, the more they stay the same.

dems whoring themselves for the "disadvantaged" i.e., more government and the Reps whore themselves for the "rich".

  • Mondale is so incompetent!

  • He went into the debate with an unbelievably stupid strategy: attack Reagan for doing something no one in America had any real reason to care about at that time (because government deficits are hardly as immediate a problem as being unemployed or in debt yourself), and something that CARTER did 4 years before. So he was screwed before he even opened his mouth.

Gary Hart would have still lost. But at least there would have been a meaningful contrast between the candidates.

  • Mondale was right. Three years later, deficits did matter. In 1987 the stock market crashed and a debilitating recession occurred afterwards, causing George H.W. Bush's presidency to be kept to one term.

  • Idiot fuck. By the time the first Idiot Busch was Prez the NASDAQ was higher than it ever was in 87 preceding the crash. Learn you economics you idiot tard swine.

  • it really is amazing how far presidential debates have degenerated over the past 25 years. The tone from both candidates is respectful and the discussions are substantive.

  • Republican or Democrat... the debates are truly pathetic, sad, and unproductive...we need another JFK or Ronald Reagan!
