  • I have both the Sonia Kashuk sponge and the beauty blender. I LOVE the Sonia Kashuk and almost never touch the beauty blender. I suppose everyone is different, but I just think it was a waste of money.

  • @Jannabelle126 That's really good to hear! I don't think I could ever bring myself to spend $20 on a sponge, and this helps my resolve. Thanks!

  • I got Moonlit Madness a while back for free at Sally's. It is a really nice colour. I bought 2 Revlon Lip butters at Target and was surprised they only cost me around $6 each. I couldn't find the one I really wanted so I paid the $12 for it at SDM. That is one reason I hate shopping in Canada (the tax). Also I spy The Sims in the background. Oh and think of CVS like we have Tim Hortons. They are everywhere.

  • @bluehawaii19 Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by how cheap the lip butters were in the states! The cheapest I've been able to find them here is at Walmart for just under $8. I hate Walmart but they do have the best prices. and LOL LOL I laughed forever about the CVS/Timmies thing because it's SO TRUE! XD

  • @cheesestreet I don't think any of the Walmarts near me carry it them. I have only seen them at Target, SDM, and Ulta so far and I hated paying the $12 for the one I really wanted (Peach Parfait) at SDM when I know they are much cheaper at the other two. Yeah, Timmies are everywhere. In Napanee (not a big town), I think there are two or three or them alone.

  • @cheesestreet CONTINUED: I will check the smashbox product out... up untill now I have been using Elf Browkit in ASH...also a powder and a wax duo. The shadow is similar to MAC Omega, but I feel omega is a tad too yellowy in tone, if that makes sense. Re: my eyeshadow request, it's totally up to you! I just need recs ;) I mostly wear neutrals which is why I suggested that. But I am open to widening my horizons to bolder colors!!!

  • @cheesestreet OMG, I hope you like it then! ;) I don't want a foundationfail on my concience! ;) What I like about it is that its light to medium, buildable and that its neither too yellow or too pinky/orangy. I am probably neutral to cool, so thats why it works for me. i do hear that the Natural in alabaster is a bit lighter than in the other formulas...you could go with Skin fdtn too if u like that formula. ----tbc---

  • @clanaaa Haha Sephora just ruined my plans, apparently that foundation is "Canada Restricted" and I'm not allowed to buy it. I guess it wasn't meant to be! I'll look around for it... some Murale's carry BB, and I think Holt Renfrew does too.

For the eyeshadows, I'll try to have something done this week... maybe a top 10 mac shadows video or post or something of the like :)

  • Let me know about the Alabaster. Btw I have two questions for you.

    1. What products do you use to fill in your brows? I see yours look very cool/neautral as mine... most brow fillers, eyesadows or whatever are always too red or yellowy brown.

    2. Could you do a My Favorite MAC shadows/My MAC neutral Palette vid? Or just tell me the sades? Going to the US in 2 weeks and I wanna buy a lot of their e/s. I only have satin taupe atm.

  • @clanaaa I have the foundation in my Sephora cart right now haha! For my brows I use Smashbox brow tech in taupe/soft brown. It's a duo plus a wax, and they're the coolest toned brow products I've been able to find for a decent price. They aren't quite cool/ashy enough, but they're very close! I mix the two shades together and it's very good! As for the eyeshadows... I'll think on that and maybe do a blog post (but I'll try for a video!). Do they have to be neutrals?

  • sorry im posting a lot... i also find that a lot of limited edition stuff from drugstores are only in the states. I mean we do carry the brands here but only sell the permanent items.

  • I also don't get why foundations (most to all) oxidize. Most of them do so like gradually so at the end of the day its darker on your skin even ones that are super long lasting. I don't get why they can't make a formula that prevents that. Eyeshadows don't do that.

  • I find it sooo hard to match shades for Rimmel Foundations. I've got their lasting finish one and their matte one and it failed on me. The only thing I like from Rimmel is their nail polishes. Some brands are quite finicky with shade selection. The covergirl ones all seem to be too pink like the undertones and the quality aren't great. Revlon and L'oreal foundations are great with like TONS of color selection. I heard Mayeblline ones are good too.

  • @TheGLOSSette This was my first try at Rimmel, so I didn't really know what to expect. I really love Revlon foundations, but they break me out so I can't use them. The finishes and colour selections were amazing though. I liked L'Oreal True Match a lot too, excellent shade range and decent coverage. I don't use that anymore because the lightest one is still too dark haha story of my life :\ At least here in Canada most drugstores have testers! In the US they hardly do!

  • either bezyl peroxide dont work for me or the canadian 5% ones aren't strong enough... i find that if i use products with salycylic acid (even if small amounts) like cleansers or moisturizers it helps prevent blemishes and whatnot. also spot treatment with salycylic acid works well for me. i hear people one works better than the other. both are used to treat acne

  • @TheGLOSSette Both Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid work well for me! They differ slightly in terms of what they do and how they work, so it all depends on your skin and your needs :)

  • @cheesestreet So if you have a breakout which one do you prefer? Also I prefer the gel types then the cream types. Right now I'm using a Marcelle AC Solutions one cuz it was on clearance at Shoppers a two pack for 1.99. I've used Garnier Skin Natural their Pure line and the spot treatment works wonders (I think the skin natural line is only avail in Canada). The 5% Clean and Clear one doesn't work for me. My boyfriend uses it cuz he doesn't have one and you know guys they just use whatever.

  • @TheGLOSSette If it's just a few spots, I'll smooth on some BP before bed. I find it takes the really big gross zits down a lot better since it dries them out and gets rid of all of the acne-causing bacteria (which SA doesn't do). If I'm having a longer-term problem, like when I was in my teens or if I've reacted to an unknown product, I prefer to use a cleanser with SA, like the Clean and Clear cleanser with 2% SA.

  • where is your top from? so cute

  • @clanaaa Thanks! It's from Zara in the fall! I've seen them there recently though so I think they still have them!

  • @cheesestreet Thanks. :)

Btw we have the EXACT same skintone, and I'd def recommend Bobbi Browns shade 00 Alabaster. Doesnt pull as yellow as NARS SG Siberia either (makes me look kinda chalky bc of it)... my fave formula is the Natural Finish one... eventho its for combo/oily skin, I dont feel its drying.. very satiny result.

  • @clanaaa Awesome! I was matched last spring to BB's skin foundation in 01 Porcelain and it is WAY too yellow and definitely too dark. I'm always worried that I'm going to buy something that's too light :\ It's one of the few foundations that don't break me out though, so I've still been using it haha. I think I'm going to give Natural Finish a try, since I do have combo oily skin! Thanks for the recommendation!

  • @cheesestreet You're welcome.

Judging by your blog pics you're def as pale as me! A BB SA tried to match me with the Porcelain shade as well. For some reason SA's always want me to go darker, rec me powders 2-3 shades darker, ask me if I dont wanna get a bronzer instead of blush etc lol NW15'er for liiiiiiiife (at least this is wat I use in MAC concelaer... none of their fdtns are a perfect match for me)

  • @clanaaa Hahaha we are skintone soul sisters! I use NW 15 studio finish concealer too but the foundations are always too dark and orange. Even their pro longwear concealer in NW 15 was wayyy too dark. If MAC were to do NW properly (i.e. NO orange!!) then I think I'd be a NW 12.5 ;) So excited for BB in Alabaster haha
