  • wow , tenaga muda lah orang tua ni..respect gua

  • Silat hasn't proved anything. The 2 countries (Indonesia and Malaysia) where it originated has Very limited if not zero boxing/K-1/fighting sports traditions. During WWII, the 2 countries where known as collaborators of the Japanese and where so afraid to fight the Japanese in spite of their silat.

  • @101ers77 No problem, the Japanese fled to soon, and after WWII the Indonesian kicked both Dutch and British asses out of their country.

  • @gemboz IDIOT! they didn't fled too soon. They made their Malaysian and Indonesian ALLIES their slaves and prostitutes. The Brits were not kicked out of Malaysia. Brits just got fed with a slave nation who seems incapable of fighting for their independence. Brits just got out of that pussy Malay nation. We've got their golds anyway and we're still enjoying every gram of it.

  • @101ers77 I don't care what happened in Malay, but your asses were kicked out of Indonesia for sure.

  • @101ers77 Nah they fought.

  • There are no bad styles only bad teachers

  • @qtpwqt

    Except for Silat.

  • @kaorunootaku that so right

  • And to those who keeps comparing which martial art is the best, you guys are fools who knows nothing about martial arts. Because the true strength of a warrior depends on how he uses his art. Not within the art itself.

  • wtf was that

TANPA PAKAT...TANPA BINCANG....tahniah.

  • @kitabkuning terima kasih kerana menyanjungi dan memahami

  • YAWN!

  • asianboi1004 dont even sit here and pretend that my opinion makes me a douch while yours has any meaning, the best part about my opinion though, is its more of a fact. you see silva has proven himself the best mma fighter and he couldnt have done that without being an experienced martial artist, so unless ur saying krav maga or silat is a better martial art then bjj and MT my facts hold, and if u do for some reason think one art is better than another, then ur as ignorant as u sound

  • master belom kemas lagi... tok guru kene tangkas dan bertenang... aku tengok gelabah semacam jer

  • @copypacercopypacer , silat , eskrima and other martial art are equal and deadly , so do assume that filipino marital art is superior. Martial art is an art and a self-defence. In my opnion, if one is too consumed with the power and superior, it turn deadly :) peace!

  • FAKE

  • Its pathetic...

  • He completely turn his back on his attackers numerous times. . .

  • how in the world can this get disliked.......they all deserve to be put in a ring with this guy as their opponent

  • 0.05 ade org tolong.

  • @lambakan dia pun dah umur berapa dah.. respek ler sikit...

Jadi perkedel.. hehhehehe

  • this is the worst 'demo' i have seen... even though it was meant to be un-choreographed, it could have been done in a more 'smooth' manner if the guru silat was actually more calm.. he looked like he was in a frantic mode!! LOL!!! hahaha... mengelabah angkat kaki nak tendang tak kena... macam gaduh kat sekolah je masa kecik2 dulu!! hahah!!

  • Why is it that at 04 seconds he is overwhelmed and potentially stabbed to death while being held, then his attackers turn on each other to save him, then attack again?... I am sure I am misunderstanding this, but as it appears, it is quite confusing!

  • BARAKA!

  • macam kartun

  • this not a real fight..but this is a called drill..like we use to do in philippines..in our arnis-escrima-kali.we use drills..but in real street fighting we defend our self for those hold upers...^^,the cause in philippines hold up is rampant.

  • ASDF@ thats actually not true, silat is not better than eskrima, yes ur right silat defeated many eskrimadors BACK THEN but nowadays it is the silat masters who getting a beating from eskrimadors.....silat is a good martial art but im pretty sure its not better than eskrima, especially due to the fact taht eskrma carrys the lethalness and effectivness that silat doesn't have and what eskrima does...i mean if u put an eskrmador vs a silat master, theirs a good chance of the eskrmador winning

  • @copypacercopypacer Have you heard of Bando? I'm confident that a Bandoist can give an Eskrimador a run for his/her money.

  • @lordsuckup1 i doubt it

  • @copypacercopypacer Well, did you check out Bando yet? I'm goin' for the art myself. It's good to have pride in somethings, but not good to be blind to it. Not that I'm saying that it'd be easy. Bandoist vs. Eskrimador, IMO, would be an interesting match.

  • @copypacercopypacer

    calm down..

ooh don't say like that.. there's many places in Asia that you haven't seen yet.. complete your journey first, before saying that silat master aren't good enough..because in my place, eskrima gets own by silat..

  • @leopurpleman i guess where you are sila has a slight advantage but i doubt silat has anything on eskrima. i'm pretty sure the filipino martial arts are supeior than indonesian and malaysian

  • @copypacercopypacer

well my friend, my respect to your opinions..

if you're talking about eskrima has more deadly technique,or maybe has better learning syllabus(fighting drills perhap?) more than silat, maybe you're right then..besides, silat were based on situations and always sticks to economical move..simple but effective,..but that's not the main reason which make my own grandfather survive during the world war.. it's all depends on individual thinking at how or when to move..

  • @leopurpleman my grandfather also survived the war, using eskrima.

  • @Nusantarean same...

  • Comment removed

  • @Nusantarean bergantung pada pengamalnya :)

  • @Nusantarean Silat Sunda... wakakakakak....

  • wow... this guy wont last 10 sec in mma

  • @niggslater mma is stupid too many rules and mma is a sport not a self-defense anderson silva would get crushed in a matter of seconds against a silat master or krav maga master or kali master in a street fight which means no rules = groin kicking eye gouging finger manipulation wrist locks and throat strikes are legal not ufc bullshit

  • @asianboi1004 as would the boxers, floyd mayweather or oscar delahoya

  • @asianboi1004 its not stupid. n can be used as self defense. remember mma is martial arts my guy. yes there are rules. thats like saying NFL isnt reall football n they wouldnt stand a chance against a street football team. they still study the arts they simply convert the art they study to the sport of mma

  • @asianboi1004 wrong, silva did muay-thai and bjj for years before competing in MMA, u honestly think the guy dosnt know how to defend against a knife or stick or anything else u throw at him? besides, typically TMA practitioners arent training 8hours a day like a silva, not to mention if he can manuever his way out of proffesional boxers and kickboxers strikes, what makes u think he cant do the same for silat or krav maga guys?

  • @socialsociety12 your opinion is your opinion a dude that would spend a few minutes scrolling back on the comments page looking for an arguement obviously is determined to be a complete douche so good job.

  • LOL

  • kecoh tol...siapa cipta silat pun nak bising2, ribut2...semua ilmu datang dari allah... kita belajar kerna allah... termasuklah ilmu silat... apa hak kamu mahu mengatakan silat hak cipta kamu..??

  • @tut33t sabar2.....naseb baik aku sabar....kalau tk aku hempok je kau....

  • @Oebay7 kamu tau tak silat diambil dari bangsa apa??BANSA MELAYU!!!tau tak....

  • @magic123boy kamu tau tak nenek moyang kamu tu berasal dari melayu Indonesia, malayu di negara ko tu tak pure lagi, keling+chinese+bla bla..

  • What is this? I am also a silat master. But thisi is funny. One thing I realise, all self defence practitioners will never accept their weakness. Just remember nothing is so great about self defence. Just admit it.

  • @ramlanas you are Silat Master??? huhuhu.... u just a small kid 12 yrs old who are acting like a big guy behind the keyboard and computer screen... lol >.> im also can show off behind the keyboard and say " im the god for you all" but actually not. silat is the best in the world ;)

  • I agree with several people here. However MMA is the most versatile fighting system based on the fact that it gathers principles from several different styles. Every martial art has missing gaps, and to make it effective you need everything to suit you in the fight. Most Individual martial arts such as Shotokan Karate, Kung Fu, and silat for that matter, are all based on counter attack. But the gaps will show most definately if you are taken out of your element. So either or.

  • no worries mate this is a awesome vid but i wanna start up pencak silat but theres noplaces around my area lol

  • @thataussiekid01 I met Perisai Diri in Brisbane six years ago. Perhaps you can search them.

  • pencak silat dari Indonesia...

Selalu malaysia mau punya apa yang Bangsa kita punya..

Bangganya gue dilahirkan jadi bangsa Indonesia..

    untung bukan jadi malingsia..

  • @Oebay7 .

    Memang kalianlah bangsa terhina....!!!

  • @Oebay7 semua manusia dijadikan Allah sbg makhluk yg terbaek tarafnya. jd apakah anda melebihi Tuhan hinggakan boleh menghina sesuatu kaum tu? jika kami bangsa terhina, panggil saudara2 anda balek ke indonesia semula dan jgn sekali2 enjejakkan kaki ke bumi yg kalian panggil hina ni.

  • @Oebay7 woi indon bangsat jilat bontot cina

  • @Oebay7 jgn kata begitu. jgn laa sbb iklan pelancongan Malaysia yg dibikin oleh produksi dr Singapura mengandungi klip tarian drpd indonesia lalu kalian menuduh kami mencuri mcm2 dr sana. sudah nyatanya produksi singapura itu yg slh. manusia yg punya akal klu bijak pasti takkan berkata2 mcm anda. pencak silat pn belum tentunya asal dr indonesia. sdgkn manusia pn asalnya drpd asal yg sama. jgnlaa berkata menurut napsu. org lain terjun longkang, anda pn mau terjun ke longkang?

  • its that true?emm...hard to believe.sorry

  • nape penyerang menyerang sesama sendiri? ni mcm royal rumble tu ke? just nk tau...

  • lol u all stupid english man or girl this is a show to the people how important is to join silat stupid....

  • I would rather fight a silat grandmaster than to jump into a pond full of piranhas!

  • @lesterado I'd rather fight a silat master (this one in particular) than the majority of the adult population in Belfast

  • I would much less rather mess with a wing chun or san soo master.

  • The best silat master was a little-known teacher in a place called Teluk Gong (I think) in Klang, Malaysia. His name is Ahmed Niron. Watching him fight was like watching the above in slow motion, except only he moved at such a slow speed yet he could easily disable any opponent who came at him like a tiger. His moves was like the flow of music. He must be almost 70 now.

  • Amazing...soon we will see this guy rock the UFC world !come on guys...let's go to lear how to cook a good plate of penne alla matriciana that is much better than this crap !

  • @hazzhans bruce never set foot in indonesia.Since silat practitioners dont spar realistically it would be schooled by a style that features sparring so heavily like boxing, thai, mma, wrestling etc.

  • the only reason why Bruce Lee is good in the first place is because he learned from different masters themselve. Of course he wouldn've been beaten by 'worthy' styles of master before he ever gets to train in that particular style.

  • @hazzhans lol what a fucking lie, bruce lee died because of over using painkillers...lying faggot.

  • @Jinisinsane he doesn't mean "bruce lee is killed by a silat master".. he only said that "a silat master have ever beaten bruce lee"..

  • that's not what you're friend hazzhans said.

  • fucking fake scripted shit.

  • now days there is no complete or the best martial arts in the world...everybody is incorporating MMA into their system today....silat or no silat, master or no master all will get beaten someway or another...but the silat practioners do have some mystical god knows what knowledge up their sleeve...as they once fought the DamN coMMunist machine guns with just the machete and keris.

  • Thanks all 4 watching........

    1) This man is a real Silat Master ( for those who knows the late Jan De Jong....he was a best friend of this master)

    2)This is a 'real' and non-choreographed DEMO.

    3) If it's to be real.....those guys would be wounded.

  • @anasyid do you know how old jan de jong is and where he lives. or what his nattionality is.

thanks for the info you've posted as a comment.

  • @anasyid Do you know anything about Jan De Jong jujutsu? I've heard it has a bit of Silat integrated in the system. I just started training it

Lancau, lu LARI sampai singapore ka? seluar dlm ada basah ? berani dlm int shj.

  • racist!

  • looks like stupid malay drama of all time can get awards

  • biggest bullshit

  • ...ew that's gross...clean your ass already

  • dont talk like small boy wake up

  • I m never see kipas senandung killing human...just bulshit...but samurai..i believe..this video just demontration..not real..

  • You sure this is not a DEMO ?

In actual real street style fights ; silat is definitely effective for a standup and ( some ) effective for against submission stylist.

In Indonesia , street fights are often and most of the gangs are or do know silat.

So if you think you are enough , go Indonesia

  • well for me there is no weak or strong martial arts, it depends on the user not the art, you have to train and train

  • Very well said!...

  • actually the ultimate martial art is the one that gives the fighter several thousand options for any given situation

  • @vcgfty I just invented a martial art called face-fisting, it involved facebutts to the knuckles and reverse chokes (designed to tire the opponent's arm using pressure from the carotid artery). Still think there are no weak martial arts?

  • @ultimatehammer I would love to see your martial arts and maybe we could have a spar with no rules of course who faint loses. that is how i fought since kindergarden using traditional martial arts.

  • @vcgfty

There is ideal martial art, MMA is best suited for street fighting ... others are too ... but prob with them they are either too dangerous to use ... eg. i trained all my life, how to poke in the eyes, strike neck and kill someone, punch the heart to stop it from working opposite of CPR effect, strike the groin, abs etc ... these areas too dangerous to attack. and not woth hitting someone over a pety issue, but thats all i trained for, if i dont use them am pretty un trained 4 oda

  • @vcgfty I agree. It is not what you train, it is how you train and why and to what purpose.

  • @vcgfty damn straight!

  • 0:06 look at that guy helping his master...swt

then after that he started attacking =.="

    obviously DEMO! XD

  • haha yeah, one dude holds him from behind while guy in front is just sitting there jumping on him for a good few seconds. imagine how many times he could of got busted in the face. i'm sorry i'd like to see him use that on the streets. where people aren't gonna stand there all fancy like and wait till the person before him is done attacking.

  • On voie rien

  • obviously an exhibiton. but i wouldnt reccomend trying to fight someone trained in pencak silat on the ground. ground= an easy half python technique

  • i think too many people are trying to compare silat with mma! not the same. i have train silat and i'm currently training to fight mma and mma is more sport/ street brawl with llimited/ basic techniques! silat is very dangerous. not sure who this guy was but it's easy to say what you would have done with your boys when your just looking from the crowd. no disrespect anyone when i say this either. no it wasn't pretty but fights never are.

  • That's just demontration. Why you want to compare between real fight and demo?

  • i can see this was a demo. i was commenting on some of the others comments about what they thought. Saying the attackers were waiting to get hit rather than attacking at once etc.......i love silat myself.

  • @buddhamonkk mma did not originate as a sport. It turned into a sport. One of my prior instructors was Royce, who fought/and helped originate mma, and can tell you it's not basic by all means. it started to show the world the effectiveness of BJJ, which is not a sport. No disrespect either. just chattin' :)

  • @mobileenclosures Also, I am not comparing BJJ to any other art either. Each art is effective in what it was designed for. THATS ALL. It's simple. Learn as much as you can from different arts, and you will become more proficient at martial arts in general. Very simple concept. No arguements needed.

  • 13 years of studying martials arts, beleive it or not, did teach a LITTLE bit about fighting...This master maybe good IN A REAL FIGHT but he is not impressive in an EXHIBTION...The attackers werent attacking they were simply moving forward with a control kick, a chop, a punch and waiting for the "master" do his stuff...when 2 guys held him, the master onviously didnt know what to do, if it was real, guess what? hed be down on the ground wether he likes it or not. get it???

  • This is exactly wat it is AN EXHIBTION...its not REAL...Im not saying that silat sucks or its weak, IM SAYING IS THAT THIS IS NOT REAL...Anyone here who had been in a brawl would know that when you have 4 or 6 men who knows martial arts and all aiming to get you...well illl leave it up to your imagination to figure out what will happen...being the martial artist, what would you do to this master??? kick him to death or take him down like what some men in this video is attempting to do???

  • i fought some group of silat people once.... i used samurai sword... lol... and im from North Borneo... this stuff is bullshit...

  • silat is quite effective but the japanese type is better. That's cause eastern asian martial art styles are more effective and that's y so my different forms existed to cope with street fighting.

wushu/ kungfu for example, has one that's pretty similar called wing chun but in my own opinion I feel it's better.

this is all just my own opinion though. personally I prefer eastern asian styles ;D

  • lol.. please, why is there always one who think this one or that one is better than another. they are only as good as the person who is doing it.. just because you're good at one thing, doesn't mean you will be good at another, and so on...

  • Samurai sword is not dangerous lah...

You better to know about Kipas senandung. It will kill you without touching you...

  • 2cozzy: arghhh.. xtahan aku baca ko punya komen. bullshit kau cakap? try and read about Majid Mat Isa fight, 40 years ago. Guru Gayong Pusaka. he fought with 60guys with stick and parangs. c'mon mate. maybe ko bawak samurai dgn mat rempit yang cakap dia tau silat kot? adoi~ XD

  • That legendary master hardly impressed me... also, all of you guys talking about bullet-proof people are very delusional.

  • ni main GERAK yg btol2 lah.. dlm BI (this is the real fight called GERAK)

  • if this was a real fight the guy would be down on the ground right now being pummeled.....but hey what the heck to I know about REAL fights...

  • a trained martial artist would never want to go to the ground in a "REAL" fight. Sure you might take that guy out but while you're putting him into some fancy BJJ grapple, his buddy can come up at kick you in the face. Dont get me, wrong i am not standing up for this guy i wasnt impressed, just stating that going to the ground in a fight not in a ring is a bad idea.

  • Agreed...but I think you didnt put into account that in a REAL fight, especially with that many horde, wether your trained not to go to the gorund or wether you dont want to go to the ground, you will eventually...To deny this means youve never been in a REAL fight...

  • It isnt possible to stay on your feet against 4 or 5 guys, its just really difficult, and regardless if you do go to the ground you dont want to stay there, especially with that many opponents, that is something left for the cage. I have never been in a fight myself in which i have ever gone to the ground for more than a couple seconds and occasions where i have gone to the ground have only been the result of being attacked by multiple opponents.

  • @Delmo67...well IT IS POSSIBLE to stay on your feet with that many opponents, but in an open space like that where they can attack from almost anywhere, highly improbable me thinks...

  • no not necessary yeah it possible to go to the ground but it doesnt always happen kind of depends on the person you fighting

  • those stances look very powerful

  • yeah, i hear from my dad most of the silat ppl are what did we call as 'kebal' or invincible, they have no effects from guns and knives, now thats really kind of martial arts man...

  • thats true but there many type of kebal/invincible.

n also their own type of weakness.

the only bad thing is the side effect or taboo cuz some of the art need u to exercise caution very strictly..

break it n the consequences is ten fold..

well great power comes with great responsibility..

    XD

  • that's just...chaos....

  • chaos??

thats what usually happen when everyman goes for one man...

  • Uh, I'm pretty sure that when it's a lot vs. one, the large group takes turns getting beat up by the one guy one at a time, while the rest circle around him menacingly.

  • guys, ever seen pesilats in dabus?.. now that's scary..

  • Some of the Silat ppl also Bullet Proof .

Can u survive fighing with them ?

  • i even hear they can deflect .50 cal rounds. scary indeed...

  • yh

    my abs are bullet proof

  • if you ask me this looks like a staged show for a festival or something

  • y ppl juz cnt understand tat it is not abt which technique is better, but its juz e' person?

  • an mma guy wouldn last 10 seconds in a fight with a silat guy.mma is limited to what you can do.silat is not

  • .while other Martial arts succeed in MMA , I cant see a Silat fighter succeed in MMA..

  • mma is more sport silat is self defence

  • Bullshit. Almost all the martial arts in existence are mixed martial arts. Just because the one is used for sport doesn't mean it can't be used for self defence. I'd bet on the MMA guy or boxer over most of us TMA guys any day because they're far better conditioned and do much more alive training.

  • 'MMA' is not a Martial Art dumbass. It's a sport.

It uses a variety of martial arts to form a fighting system to compete in their sport. Many martial arts techniques and self defense techniques are removed from the system in order to reduce injuries and to protect its fighters.

Try going to a Silat practitioner and say "bunch of clowns". See if you won't get your ass get knocked the fuck out.

  • do silat realy practitioners realy have such little self control then?

surely they'll be able too prove him wrong but knocking him out for his ignorance is kinda harsh don't you think.

  • @destroyxeverything what im suppose to break someones neck becouse he called me a clown?

true martial arts is for self defence and to build a strong body and MIND!.

if you cant handle a being called a clown you have verry weak self esteem.

  • @fracturedfist You must understand other cultures and view from other cultures. In parts of southern Mexico you insult their mother and most likely you will get kill on the spot. This would not occur in northern Mexico. Is about culture and what is insulting for some and not for others. Go to Iran and kiss and grab a woman in public and you will be hang. Is not about self steem is about cultural views and no culture is more perfect then the other. Therefore one must be respectful!

  • @destroyxeverything True MMA is a sport but did you ever realize that those who practice the arts [aka me, though im no pro or black belt[ still learn the full martial arts. We just only use sertain moves for the sport. Furthermore MMA as I see it can be adapted to a street defence senario easily. Just stop being so gentle and aply more leathal moves. In the end though there is no 'best art' its more the person then anything. Just my two sence agree or disagree as you see fit.

  • MMA is a form of competion were different styled fighters, fight eachother.

some fighters change the style too MMA but they always stay too the core of there roots.

mastering all MA forms would be insane and imposible, also too say that on MA is beter then another is insane and clearly shows you have much too learn.

there is no ultimate fight style each MA takes long train intens study and hard work too master.

  • he obviously got whooped when they came on him at once..... i dont think taking on multiple opponents is the strength of silat.

  • it looks like a fight in a movie...i dont like silat

  • I have seen more impressive martial arts in old batman episodes.

I half expected the guy to ask them to form an orderly Q.

  • wuhaha ur so wrong xD

ok now somebody is gonna tell me i'm wrong..but here it comes:

The origin of Pencak silat Cimande or Beksi style is from Kung Fu. They actually traced it based on moves and trade routes. What kind of style of kung fu?..i think acouple of them. See also the comparison in the animal style they hold.

I got nothing to do with kung fu though. i think Muay Thai, BJJ and Kick Boxing is the way to mix the perfect hand combat.

  • I doesn't matter whether you've learn a 1000 martial arts but still if you never practiced it, It will never bring any goodness in you. Still, Cekak RoXX !

  • silat cekak is the best!!!!!

  • No one had to equate silat with islam. Silat is deeply rooted in BALI an island with 97% hindu population since 14 century. The spritual aspect of silat in this island is totally hindu .Silat already in existence in 8 century syailendra kingdom who built the nine storey fully decorated BOROBUDUR.And when in the 12 century raden wijaya warriors beat kubhilai khan the mongol emperor who overtake china, silat was the prime weapon.Javanese silat & kingdom only lose to fire arm & canon of the dutch

  • This Silat, i mean the one that we are watching now is Silat Gayong. Most of the silat in Malaysia will have their Batin rooted to Islam. The "CLAIMED" that their batin rooted to Islam, but the influence of Hindu and Buddha still obvious. Hanuman or Kera Sakti, Garuda, Harimau Berantai, and many more "Guardian Forces" can be found.

Its the 1st time i heard that Raden Wijaya beat Kublai Kahn. Is it a fact or just a legend, mate?
